I have been with PIA for four years and was thinking of cancelling the policy due to financial constraints. I didn't and was unlucky to have to make a claim. Cons - like all insurance it feels like a waste of money until you need. Due to Covid19 they are not answering phones. Everything has to be handled online, including document uploads. Pros - they always answer emails and in my experience, quickly. They are always helpful despite my lack of internet abilities. The vets (3) were able to deal with the actual claims for me and all the paperwork involved. Despite me forgetting to update my address and deal with two different people via email the refunds were very prompt. Thanks. I've had this insurance now for nearly 8 years and still feel the same as above. I've been able to make another claim for my dog and everything from the pre-approval to the claim was easy and dealt with speedily. Thanks.

I have been with Pet Insurance Australia for about 5 years now and they have been incredible to deal with, especially recently when I had a major scare when my beloved fur baby decided to ingest a foreign body and required surgery. When I went to pick him up and pay the rest of the bill, PIA insurance had it all sorted and my claim was already fulfilled! Thank you for taking the financial stress out of an emotional roller coaster ride. I am grateful to be insured by PIA and thankful for your continued service!

We moved to Pet Insurance Australia around 6 years ago. I must admit that the recent price increase did make us question our ability to recommit. Thankfully we stayed at the same rate of cover and it has most certainly afforded us peace of mind during some very stressful times. Our precious boy has a mast cell tumour and developed other health complications at the same time as we were trying to deal with the tumour. I can’t think of anything worse than having concerns regarding the cost of treatment whilst also being worried sick for the health of our baby boy. Coco, who just turned 12 on Tuesday has a bumpy stretch ahead as do we. It’s certainly a relief to have PIA on this journey with us with no questions asked, no interrogations and gap payments. Thank you for helping us to give our boy the very best of care in this time of need.

Never had to deal with any insurance company in any capacity before, but by all accounts I have heard it is a horrible experience. This was not the case for us. Our dog needed major surgeries in order to save her life. All up, the bills came up to close to $30,000. We didn't hear from PIA throughout this ordeal whatsoever. No phone calls, no emails, nothing. The bills came in and PIA simply paid them - no questions asked. In fact, the only time we heard from PIA was an email a few months after everything happened to see how our dog was and asking what we thought of their service. If PIA ever decides to branch out into anything other than pet insurance, please let me know. Consider me your first customer. Our dog is now completely healthy as the surgery was curative. She's now back to being a happy and healthy dog. Can't rate this company highly enough. Thank you PIA, for everything.

I've been with Pet Insurance Australia for years, and unfortunately needed to use the policy a few times lately. PIA's claims service is absolutely amazing - lodging the claim on the portal is super simple, and my lodgements are assessed and approved within 24 hours, and payment in my account within 24 hours after that. Extremely happy with the service I get from PIA, and definitely recommend them

I could not imagine being a pet owner without PIA. It has not only given me such enormous peace of mind that I can do whatever I need to ensure the health and comfort of my dog, but the service of PIA is 2nd to none. I cannot thank them enough for being there and offering such wonderful service, at times that are so very stressful. Not to mention the GAP only payment options at the vet clinic, this has been a lifesaver when major magical concerns arise. I would never own a pet without this cover.

Great pet insurance company. Easy to submit claims either by sending vet consultation notes and invoice or by the vet doing this for you. Get regular notification of the claims as they are ongoing. Get clear and concise information about the claim once it has been approved. They pay out what you are insured for, ie I am insured for 80% and received back 80% almost exactly of the vet bill. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Tried to re-apply for insurance for my two cats and got denied, no phone call or email to say I was denied, just a lie from their rep saying "their underwriter is still working on my policy"...three weeks later. All because my previous policy with them had ended and I didn't want to continue it as it was getting expensive, yet they kept trying to take money after I cancelled the last policy.

Pet Insurance Australia was a great help with Lolly's recent health scare. By having and utilizing her Pet Insurance via the online Claims area was easy. Obtaining the required information was from the Vets was the most difficult.

I have 4 cats & a dog. I changed to PIA because of the substantial savings in premiums & they offered a higher & more comprehensive cover. Recently, my dogs had gastro & needed a series of investigations to try & find the cause. My vet has handled all the claims with PIA & the process couldn't be easier. I get a message from PIA the same day to say a claims been lodged. I can also access this information through my client portal & within 24hrs the claim has been paid. The communication from PIA has been excellent & I couldn't be happier

Thank You!!! After having spent $21k in one year on a beloved pup (uninsured), I quickly signed up with PIA for all my pups thereafter. I've always had a mistrustful view of insurance in general, but PIA have truly been fantastic (and quick) in dealing with my claims. From memory, I'd say 95% of my claims over the past 10+ years have been approved. No fuss, no BS and on the few occasions when I've spoken with a rep, they've always been really helpful.
