We visited Yosemite for three days and the highlight by far was our private e-bike tour with Jorge from Pedal Forward Bikes. From the moment I first called, Jorge was incredibly helpful - he gave us great advice about the roads and surrounding area, which was perfect since it was our first visit.
We booked a private ride for me, my husband, and our two teens, and all four of us absolutely loved it. The e-bikes were so easy to use and let us cover so much more ground than we expected. Biking through the mountains and around the lake was truly stunning - the views were unbelievable, and the whole experience was just so much fun.
I’d recommend this to anyone. The bikes make it accessible for all levels, and you can stop for photos whenever you like, so it all feels really relaxed and enjoyable. We’ll definitely book another tour when we come back.

We had a great bike rental experience. He was helpful and great to work with. I highly recommend spending the extra for the e-bikes so you can go on trails not allowed if you rent in the park!

Stopped by to see about renting an electric Mountain bike while we were in the area. Jorge was extremely helpful getting me fitted for the right bike and introducing me to the components and how they worked. The bike I rented was outstanding, and I was able to join my group of five on a sweet ride above Bass Lake. I highly recommend both Jorge and pedal forward for your biking needs.

Pedal Forward Bikes provides a great bike experience! We rented bikes for Yosemite and got great service and well serviced equipment. Jorge was professional, friendly and accommodating. We visited Oakhurst as tourists from London and hired bikes from pedal Forward for the day. We would highly recommend this business to others.
Jorge was so kind and helpful to us and suggested a wonderful local lake to visit (Bass Lake) that we would not have known about were it not for his good local knowledge. The well maintained and comfortable bikes made riding them a great experience. The lake was incredibly scenic, very beautiful and blissfully peaceful after a busy time at Yosemite National Park the previous day.

My 11yr old son Allen and I had a spectacular experience on the Big Sandy ride yesterday with our guide, Leo. Leo not only gave us a safe ride experience, he also shared interesting history and context about the Sierra forest and Yosemite park during breaks on our ride. The ride capped a 3 day trip Allen and I had at Yosemite - and, Allen confirmed that the ride was his favorite part of our trip! I had a great experience at Pedal Forward Bikes. It was easy to rent online. When I arrived at the shop Mike chatted with me about the trails I was going to ride and suggested a different bike. An excellent suggestion which made for a much better riding experience! Mike made sure the bike was set up for me, gave me a trail orientation on the giant wall map, and sent me off for a great couple of rides on 007 and Goat Mountain.
When Mike says, "The black flies are ridiculous, get the bug net", listen to him. I did not, and man they were in my ears, eyes, nose, and I ate about two dozen of them, too.
Still, a great ride, and a great rental experience. Thanks!

I grew up at Bass Lake in the early '90s, right as mountain biking was taking off. I still come back every summer, and I'm grateful a shop like Pedal Forward is here. Serving locals and helping visitors find the good stuff.
Now that I live in Seattle, I've love watching all their YouTube trail videos. They've filmed all the classic trails, even some new ones like 'Blind Squirrel,' and make planning rides easy.
Over July 4th, I rented a Specialized Turbo Levo. They did a professional fit adjustment, free of charge, and the staff pointed me to new trail improvements I would've missed, even as a former local.
Thirty years on, the sport keeps evolving. Shops like Pedal Forward are a big reason why.
