I have no idea how this has received so many 5 star reviews. I have maybe once before in my life written a poor review. so this will only my second time in 30+ years. I am sure the response from Paragon will be that I was rude to the technician - what that response will not note is that the technician came and did a relatively quick inspection - not looking up or down the chimney, no draw test, just looking at the fan that is currently installed. I was very polite and friendly. Then I called several times to follow up. No one told me the technician was away - I simply got no response for over two weeks. The technician eventually texted me to say he was out of the country. He then explained that I would need to install a bigger, better fan for $10,000 and if that didn't work, then I would need to have a liner put in for $6,000. I asked if they weren't confident a bigger fan would fix the problem, did it make sense to try the liner with the current fan because perhaps the issue was in the chimney, which had not been looked at really at all (I relayed that a neighbor had had a liner installed which resolved the issue for her). After three calls back and forth just trying to get that basic question meaningfully answered, I was sent the estimate for the fan installation for $10,000. I was impatient at this point because my questions about the chimney continued to go unanswered - the technician just condescendingly kept repeating we needed to have the bigger fan installed. I explained that I work in construction and I understand all of the terminology and issues and to please explain why if there was potentially an issue with the chimney, spending $10,000 on a fan FIRST made sense - he just kept saying this will work and when I tried to talk, interrupted me. So, I got impatient and talked over him interrupting me and said then I want you to guarantee it will work and he told me I was being very rude - I had refrained from saying that I think being interrupted and condescended to because I am a woman is very rude. At that point, having paid for the consultation, having not received a meaningful response to my very relevant questions, I determined that this was not going to be a productive relationship because $10,000 is a lot to spend (on top of the $6,000 I have already spent to have the first fan installed) with no guarantee it will work and no real evaluation of the state and functionality of the chimney itself - just a look at the current fan. Waste of time and money. They clearly wanted my $10,000 whether it was going to fix the problem or not.

Found Paragon online through Google. Their reputation here is good so i gave them a shot. What was interesting to me was how they interacted with us from the jump. no prices were gien upfront and neither on the walkthrough. they took note of every single detail we needed to get done. Our chimney needed cleaning, shingles needed to be reinstalled and definitely needed a cap replacement. it was no problem from them to start. A day later they gave us a price and we gave them a nod. when the workers arrived they came on time everyday and left no trace of a mess after the service. Our family is content with the service and gracefully so am i. We vouch for Paragon and their team of experts in the roofing realm.
