Following severe arthritis of the right hip, I researched surgical options available and opted for the minimally invasive procedure offered by Orthopaedic Innovation. This was the best decision I could have made. At 6 weeks following surgery, I am able to drive, walk, although I don’t overdo it, easily walk up and down stairs and climb into the car with without having to lift my right leg in. The care received was first class and the hospital experience was stress free and only a single overnight stay was necessary. I am 82 years old. I couldn’t recommend Orthopaedic Innovation highly enough. Update July 2026. I am now at the stage they call forgotten hip. This means I am no longer conscious of my hip, which feels exactly as if nothing ever happened to it. No pain although there wasn’t much after the surgery. The only time I am reminded of it is going through airport security. I would still highly recommend Orthopaedic Innovation to anyone thinking about hip replacement.

Wow, what can I say? The whole experience was absolutely first class from start to finish. Every member of staff was kind, caring, professional, and made me feel supported every step of the way. The biggest moment for me was waking up after the operation and realising that the two years of pain I'd been living with had gone. It was an incredible feeling. Just six weeks later, I'm able to get back to living a normal life again, and I honestly couldn't be more grateful. Thank you to everyone involved in my care. You've given me my quality of life back, and I will always appreciate everything you've done for me. Dr Kristian Kley is a Miracle worker

I saw Professor Wilson today, 10 years on from a very successful double osteotomy and ACL repair. I am thrilled with what I call my bionic knee and have had absolutely no problems following the procedure. As a result of the operation, my leg is now straight and I am able to walk long distances, swim and dance! I am incredibly grateful and would highly recommend Professor Wilson and his team.

Wishing you many more years of staying active and enjoying life!

After consulting another surgeon I chose to have my surgery done at Orthopaedic Innovation because of the innovative Kley rapid hip replacement system. As an ex competitive body builder who still loves the gym this method preserved my muscles which was important to me from both a functional and aesthetic perspective. The whole experience was fantastic from initial consultation right through to my 6 week follow up . I can not recommend Orthopaedic Innovation enough, I eternally grateful to them for giving me my mobility back.

The Kley Rapid Hip certainly lives up to its name! After 12 weeks I was back on my surfboard living life to fullest. Before the operation my mobility was very limited it effected my everyday life and stopped me doing the things I love. After 10 weeks I regained full mobility with no pain, and now at 15 weeks i can say I have forgotten hip which is the best outcome for this operation. At some point my right hip will need to be replaced and I will certainly be happy for Kristien and Adrian to carry this out for me.

The choice of Orthopaedic Innovation was a really good one. Didn't have the need for speed - no urgent physical challenges booked - no call to show off a post hip replacement teensy scar in skimpy swimwear - but getting back to (better than) normal very very quickly was wonderful. Kristian Kley, Adrian Wilson and their team aced it.

Six weeks ago, at the age of 41, I underwent a bilateral total hip replacement using the Rapid Kley technique with Dr Kristian Kley and Prof Adrian Wilson. After months of living with horrible pain and restricted mobility, the difference has been life-changing!!The pain that had gradually taken over my daily life is gone, and I am already walking independently, exercising and regaining strength and confidence with every passing week. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. While recovery requires commitment and hard work, the results have been incredible. I feel as though I have been given my life back and can finally look forward to an active future again!! My sincere thanks to Dr Kristian Kley, Professor Adrian Wilson and the whole team for their outstanding care. I already recommend them right and left to anyone considering hip replacement surgery!

My experience with this clinic was extremely disappointing. I had full faith in Adrian and travelled over 7 hours to visit London for ACL surgery to return to Football quickly. I am now waiting for a two stage revision of my knee after my ACL surgery has failed and the lateral ligament is too tight, causing me every day pain and my life put on hold. I cannot fault the pre-operative care, the surgery day itself, and Vlad, all of which were excellent. Unfortunately, the post-operative care was the complete opposite. Following surgery, I developed severe ongoing pain and complications that significantly affected my recovery and every day life. I repeatedly felt that my concerns were dismissed. One consultation lasted 7 minutes, and I left feeling rushed and unheard. I was told that my situation was something the surgeon had never seen before, yet subsequent opinions from other knee specialists suggested that the complication was recognised and identifiable. This left me feeling confused, let down and questioning whether my concerns were being taken seriously. Communication after surgery was poor. I was promised a phone call that never came, and several emails went unanswered. While I was later offered some complimentary consultations and sent an ice machine, this was only after considerable effort on my part to obtain help, and neither addressed the underlying problem. What has been most upsetting is the lack of accountability or empathy. I have never received an apology for what has happened. Instead, after spending a significant amount on my original surgery, I was presented with a proposal costing many thousands of pounds more to correct a problem that other surgeons have suggested are related to the original procedure. I am now under the care of another specialist and seeking further treatment elsewhere. This review is not about the surgery day itself, which was very good. It is about what happened afterwards. When complications arise, patients need clear communication, support and honesty. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I Visited Prof. Wilson after 10+ years of stability issues with my knee following an ACL reconstruction. He immediately spotted the issue and within 30 minutes I had an MRI to confirm the issue. After a thorough explanation of options and likely outcomes, I went ahead with the surgery a couple of months later. 4 months after the last surgery I have just completed a 400km multi day hike with 0 issues. No knee brace. No pain. No sprains. Thanks Prof. Wilson & Team.

I had done alot of research into hip replacement surgery beforehand. This lead me to the Orthopaedic Innovations page. I was interested in the recovery period following surgery, the minimal invasive technique and the time taken for the procedure. I considered this for some time before following up my interest. I required bilateral hip replacement and the procedure time along with minimal technique appealed to me. I have an active lifestyle and the procedure they would conduct along with skill of the surgeons drew me to them. My surgery for both hips was conducted in under one hour. I am pleased that following my procedure I am now pain free in my hips. My recovery is moving forward.

when I booked in for my hip replacement, the operation was over with very quickly and I couldn’t believe how the intense I’d had for several years had disappeared. I travelled home to north wales by train the next day just using a walker, I went abroad on holiday three weeks after the op and now I’m looking forward to having my life back. I cannot thank or recommend Professor Adrian Wilson, Dr Christian Kley and indeed all the team, enough for how they cared for me. YOU GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK

Over 2 years of osteo athrytis pain in both hips, I was towards the end not able to walk even one step on my own. I became house bound and bent down on fore arms on my rollator. I had to be pushed around in a wheelchair if my family took me to doctor's appointments. Prof Adrian Wilson and dr Kristian Kley performed bi-lateral hip replacements, the Rottinger method, on me two weeks ago on 12 March. Now I am able to walk with a stick and climb stairs! 27 March

Very satisfied with a brilliant result of bilateral knee replacements, five weeks apart, 16 and 11 weeks ago. I’ve just come in from two hours of gardening, slowly a steadily does it. I’ve had full unaided mobility from within the first week of each operation. As a retired GP and part-time hospital specialist now in my 80th year, I had found my mobility rapidly decreasing. I had heard awful stories of pain and stiffness, infection and on going complications with knee replacements. I spent much of last year exploring choices and had several assessments. This became complicated by finding I had full thickness cardiac scarring probably from Covid. After reviewing several leads, I contacted Orthopaedic Innovation. Professor Wilson contacted me from Crete. We had a long unhurried discussion; the cardiac situation stabilised. Following a full examination by Professor Wilson, I was contacted by the surgeon doing the knee replacement, Kristian Kley, we discussed his results from knee replacements, which were impressive and I was surprised these totalled well into five figures. Having met various other staff, I heard of bloodless operating fields, skilled rapid surgery (essential to decrease the risk of infection and the overall shock to the body and brain) as well as no cutting of tendons, ligaments or muscle. My further research confirmed the Columbus prosthesis appears to be the best to date. I was listed for surgery in January, a consultation with Kristian a few days before and then the morning of the operation was very reassuring. What seemed like a little more than an hour after going into the OR, I was getting out of bed using two elbow crutches and mobile! There is no doubt that this is one of the most painful orthopaedic operations post-operatively. Fortunately this is high in consideration, the team’s anaesthetist had blocked the regional pain nerves which lasted about 24 hours giving a recovery and mobility widow by which time a pain assessment had been made resulting in the appropriate opiate pain relief. I opted for five days at the Claverdale Rehabilitation Centre, a very wise investment to maintain and augment the range of movement. The nursing and physiotherapy support was excellent. At the first month’s post operative assessment by Prof. Wilson my second TKR was confirmed for the week after. The effect was interesting physiologically as the knees soon seemed to be in near in harmony. Satisfactory progress continues friends and some relatives have asked support for their knee replacent . The Wilson and Kley team have given me outstanding service and confidence. It is a lot to cope with, having given myself the first six months of 2026 “ hors de combat”, I am independently mobile, occasionally in London I use one elbow crutch, more as a flag to others in a hurry. I’m doing 1 to 2 mile country walks around the spring time fields and driving without any difficult or pain. My range of movement in both knees is 0-130 degrees. I can stand on each leg unaided for 1minute. An excellent result, a big thank you to both Prof Wilson and Dr Kley. Also a big thank you to the rest of the team and admin, Vlad, Petra and Marco.

I was diagnosed with Perthe’s disease in my left hip around 9 years of age and had surgery to try and limit the damage to my hip. As I grew older the pain continued and it was reaching the point where I was having more bad days than good days. This was really impacting my quality of life. Having a young family I was struggling to be the involved dad I wanted to be. I was very fortunate to have surgery with Mr Kley and Professor Wilson. On the very same day as my surgery I was able to walk a few steps. Now I am some 7 weeks on from my surgery and I am in a great place. I am pain free and walk unaided , cycling , swimming and generally enjoying life again. I’ve even ventured back to helping my son’s mini rugby club out and cycling with my him and my daughter. Historically I would be in pain and discomfort after most forms of exercise or even in the evening just sitting on the sofa the pain could come on. Since the surgery I have suffered none of these episodes of pain. My physio is amazed about the progress, noting I am several stages ahead of recovery than she would anticipate should I have had a more standard procedure. I am really looking forward to what lies ahead of me now. I would fully endorse and recommend the surgical expertise of Mr Kley and Prof Wilson at Orthopaedic Innovation and the Rapid Recovery Hip replacement I received.

To hear that you are now pain free, back cycling, swimming, helping at mini rugby and enjoying precious time with your children again... only 7 weeks after surgery is incredibly rewarding for all of us. Living with the effects of Perthes disease for so many years is not easy, and we are delighted that Dr Kley and Professor Wilson were able to help you regain the quality of life that had been taken from you.
