I had been wanting to take an art class for a while but was feeling nervous as it had been a long time since I had drawn/painted, etc. I decided to contact Francis at Ogden Art Studio and I'm so glad I did! Francis has been so patient and encouraging while also pushing me outside of my comfort zone to help develop my skills. I've learned so much already and looking forward to more classes. Highly recommend!
Francis Penavic, the owner of Ogden Art Studio, who trained at the Chicago Art Institute is an amazing painting instructor. His ability to help others see components of painting, techniques used, brush strokes, color make up and styles are lessons that will stay with me.
My fear of oil painting is finally over thanks to this remarkable teacher.

I commissioned an oil painting of a beloved pet from Francis and cannot adequately express how delighted we are with the piece. The piece evokes such emotion and I know I will treasure it for years to come. I have been an admirer of Francis’ talents for many years and would highly recommend him for commission pieces. He was able to deliver this oil in time for the holidays and shipped to my home in California carefully packaged. Truly a fantastic experience!
We recently had our Girl Scout troop earn their painting patch. They had a great time. Francis provided more than enough information and time to the girls. They loved being able to draw what they wanted and had lots of colors to choose from. The price was also very reasonable. Thank you!
Just had our Girl Scout Troop outing experience here. The girls worked on their requirements for their painting badge. Francis was so knowledgeable and interacted with the girls. The girls had a great time and had beautiful paintings too. I would totally recommend this if you're a troop leader and you need a nice space to work on your painting badge.

Commissioned Francis to design a tattoo to honor my grandfather who is a fallen CPD officer. He was very professional and took my initial idea, sketched out something immediately and gave many more ideas on things to enhance it. Never pushed me into anything I didn't want on it and turned out a great design. Even made 2 flags out of the design for my father and uncle. Could not be happier with the results!
Just started my third class with Francis, my artwork has changed so much for the better. Francis is so informative and up to date in all media's of art. The learning environment he creates with his knowledge and professionalism makes this studio one of a kind. I really recommend working with Francis if you want to learn the basics or want to advance.
