We booked Kate and her string trio for our August wedding at Tyde in Milford, CT. She was AMAZING. She and her trio did so many popular covers for us. She even offered to learn a new song to cover for us. We chose "Rich Girl". Kate was extremely easy to work with- she was organized and helpful with the planning aspect of our big day. All of our guests still rave about how beautiful the music was for the ceremony and cocktail hour. My husband and I cannot recommend Kate Obrien Strings enough to everyone looking for beautiful live music at their event. Thank you Kate!!!

Kate, of O'Brien Strings, made an excellent music experience for our young (6 yr old), music-lover, visually impaired granddaughter. This lively child is curious to learn about musical instruments,. Kate introduced her to the violin, played beautifully for her, helped her feel the instrument's shape & strings, helping this child learn about a real violin. Kate accompanied our grandchild who sang a range of favorite songs- nursery, Disney, a rollicking Broadway tune, and Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf! Our grandchild was enchanted, thrilled! She's enthusiastic & eager for next time with 'Music Kate and Violin'. Entire family was amazed at Kate's musical versatility plus her exquisitely insightful, sensitive, joyful teaching. Great!

Cait was excellent! From the moment that I contacted her for my event, she was super helpful, great communication and also responds very quickly. She has a huge variety of songs that she can play of so many different genres and they sound so amazing when she plays the violin. Kate O'Brien and her guitar accompanist provided the perfect music for my daughter's wedding this fall, adding to the joy and beauty of the day. The music was a highlight of the ceremony, moving many guests to tears. The very talented duet continued to entertain with both select pieces and their own choices, right through the cocktail hour. So many of our guests complimented the music. As a gifted artist, Kate is organized, professional and very accommodating. The ceremony took place outdoors on a chilly autumn afternoon, and moved across an extensive lawn to an indoor venue. Kate knew exactly what was needed and the transfer indoors was without incident. I highly recommend O'Brien Strings for those special occasions in our lives when only the best will do. We are extremely pleased.

The staff at the venue was helpful in setting up an outside heater and then moving us and our equipment inside for the cocktail hour. We were happy to play with so much love in the air and response to the music! This is the kind of event we always hope for when we play for weddings.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kate since 2021. The resident's and staff at the Grimes center absolutely love her. She has an upbeat personality and her violin skills are a force to be reckoned with. Kate also plays requests for the resident's and always brightens their day. The residents state that they enjoy the strolling music. If you have the opportunity to book Kate please do so, you won't be disappointed.

We are so glad we chose O’Brien Strings to play at our wedding ceremony. The string trio completely elevated the vibe, creating such a classy and elegant atmosphere. Kate was responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout the whole planning process. We were able to pick the songs we wanted from an extensive list of everything from the classics, to Disney songs, to today's music, and everything in between. They even learned a new song for us and played it beautifully as our wedding party walked down the aisle. As the wedding couple, we weren't able to hear most of the songs played but our guests have had so many good things to say about their performance and how it reminded them of Bridgerton (exactly the vibe we were going for)!
