Very fast delivery, very well packed, and as described. The railtrack sub-dial surround of this watch, in combination with crown/SMITHS/De Luxe, suggests a date of 1952. It seems like a gold-plated relative of the A.202 chromed case/stainless back watch which has the same dial but baton hands rather than these lance alpha hands. The movement serial number C138497 suggests a date of 1952-53. The dial, however, does not appear in the extant 1953 catalogues so, whilst a date of 1953 is possible, I am fairly confident in settling for a 1952 dating for the watch. Really pleased to find this. A great seller, highly recommended!

I ordered a vintage telephone exactly like one which my grandmother used to have; bringing back such wonderful memories of visits to her home. Tim, the owner, most kindly put my grandmother's old telephone number on a piece of aged paper in the centre of the dial, thus making the item more special to me.
