Aloha - a little over three years during the Covid pandemic, my mother suffered an fall, and New York city Hospital, and the staff, according to my understanding, were responsible for the blunt trauma when my mother hit her head in the bathroom because she was unassisted. Unfortunately as the order specificied in the doctors notes Explicitly said that my mother was to be under assisted care and cautio,, however, the inattentive staff, allowed my mother, not only to go to the bathroom, hit her head, and start bleeding on her brain.
Another big part of the problem was that she was told that she was going to stay for a CAT scan because of the fall and the severity of the injury to her skull , but somehow another she slipped through the cracks and they forgot that she was there for CAT scan following her fall.
In other words, they let my mother go home that day without stopping her for the scan. They failed to check and see if anything had happened as a result of the fall. I would say that it was approximately a week later that we found out that my mother was losing her ability to function or speak. She visibly slowed down significantly, so we took her back to the hospital to find out that there was bleeding on her brain and I do not really understand the medical terminology, All I know is that if they follow the proper protocol and procedures, my mother might have still been alive today. My brother, who lives in New York, I live in Hawaii, he was able to find help through the law firm of Eric Bernstein. Not only has Eric answered every one of my calls and answered with the information and not only did he help us with significant gains in our case, Eric kept me informed every step of the way right up until when the settlement was being received, not only did we win the case, we found someone that we can entirely trust our lives too.
