As someone who works long hours, I didn’t have time to manage contractors or chase deliveries, which is why choosing NYKB ended up being the right decision for our kitchen renovation. Maia helped us redesign a very small Manhattan kitchen that had almost no storage. She focused on functionality first, which I appreciated. Every cabinet has a purpose now, appliances fit perfectly, and the workflow actually makes sense. Gevanta managed the construction and scheduling, and what stood out to me was how proactive he was. Also, what I liked about them is that materials were already ordered and stored before demolition started, which avoided delays that friends of mine experienced with other contractors. There were building inspections, shutoffs, and coordination with neighbors that I barely noticed because NYKB handled everything behind the scenes. The kitchen looks beautiful, but more importantly it works incredibly well every day.

It is a pleasure to be providing a review for NYTDR, because I originally contacted the company based on its outstanding reviews from other delighted clients. In my research, the consistent high ratings in NYTDR reviews was unique. Now, my own experience confirms these exceptional reports. I contacted NYTDR on behalf of my age 88 partner after a fire in his kitchen left that room in bad shape and everything in his small apartment covered with soot. State Farm had assigned a company to help us clear the apartment, and we had met with a representative of a State Farm construction contractor. I decided to do some research and found NYTDR/NYKB. I wish I had engaged them from the start. Michael, the NYTDR/NYKB construction manager, worked tenaciously for five months to get a reasonable payout from State Farm. Michael's skill and knowledge achieved a result that was way beyond what we could have done based on our naive understanding. Through it all, as the months of following up with State Farm dragged on, Michael was a reassuring cheerleader. In addition, the cost of the entire project is amazing, beyond generous. In addition to skill and commitment, this company tales exceptional care of clients in every way. Today, we met with Michael and some of the NYKB staff to move forward on the renovations. It was a wonderful experience. We were impressed by not only the professionalism of each person we met but even more by the light in their faces, the pride and pleasure that they experience in helping clients like us, clients whose homes and lives have been seriously disrupted. My age 88 friend has been out of his home of 50 years for 10 months. When we left the NYKB experience today, I think I saw the sparkle of his old optimism and humor.

After going on 7 years of daily use, our 2nd floor bathroom, completely renewed by NYK&B in 2018 is still beautiful and functioning perfectly. One hiccup, the seat dampeners on our Koehler toilet stopped functioning. The seat had to be lowered by hand or it would slam down. Our warranty lasted 5 years but we called NYK&B for help. Michael Avidor dropped by, assessed the situation. A simple repair would not fix the problem. Michael recommended we replace the seat and they’d install it. He provided the model # and a local Koehler supplier. He and another technician installed the new seat quickly after we received it. The NYK&B team was courteous, efficient and easy to work with. Do not walk, RUN to work with the NYKB team if you want to renovate your kitchen or bathroom! I recently completed my bathroom renovation and I am extremely pleased with the results. We had a general concept of what we wanted so we began speaking to several contractors. Immediately, from our first meeting, we knew NYKB was the design and renovation firm for us. When you are doing something as intimate and as important as designing and renovating your home, relationship and communication is of the upmost importance. NYKB treats you like family. They completely understood what our vision for our home was and began working on a plan for us. Perry could not have been more helpful in discussing our vision with us and guiding us through the entire process from our first consultation to the end result. Nick and Ellen on their design team were vital to us in helping choose color schemes and materials that perfectly fit into the vision we had for our new home. Tracie took care of ALL of the back-end paperwork, we never had to deal with certifications or building permits. Their project manager Steve made sure the project stayed on track and took care of every single little detail concerning construction. The fact that they have a showroom made the process even easier for us, and was very helpful in influencing some of our design ideas. After discussing plans and choosing materials we were presented with an in-depth walk through of what our future home would look like. We were blown away by the professionalism and detail that went into our presentation. Construction started immediately and was done well within schedule. We could not have been happier with the result. NYKB was able to work around structural building infrastructure to give us the open kitchen and living room we always wanted. They designed, created, and installed a custom entertainment system for us based on our needs and wants and integrated fully automated entertainment, lights, and shades into one handy unit for us. We now have a home both perfect for entertaining and socializing, as well as raising our young child. Our master bathroom is truly elegant and modern, it feels spa like. We also had NYKB re-do our floors which came out amazing, surpassing even what we could have imagined. Everything from painting, to lighting, tiling, plumbing, cabinetry; was done perfectly. We were so impressed with the work they did, and the relationship we forged with them that we have hired them to do renovations at another home of ours. Stay tuned for those pictures!
