As a family run business, we take our customer care very seriously and it is always very sad to receive a poor review, especially when it is received purely because a customer has been unable to intimidate our staff to complete works not covered under the terms of their warranty. Mrs Luxford whilst denigrating and slandering the company fails to note that Nu-Look have never failed to attend her property when asked to do so, even knowing that the fault lies with the lack of maintenance by the customer to their own property and is not a fault with the build of the conservatory roof. On each visit the customer has been advised that there is increasingly serious degradation to the brickwork, mortar and sealant to the house wall above the conservatory. This is maintenance work that is required to be undertaken and has still not been done after six years, instead Mrs Luxford would rather continually blame Nu-Look and try to bully us to get the work done. As water ingresses through the mortar and poorly sealed house window, it will seep down the cavity between the inner and outer skins of brickwork until it encounters a lintel or cavity closer, where it will exit to the weep vents in the outer skin of brickwork, unfortunately the customer has plastered over the weep vents over the opening between the house and conservatory, therefore the water is manifesting as a damp spot in the plaster as it cannot exit via the weep vents. During our most recent service visit our service engineer yet again explained the issue to Mr Luxford who became verbally aggressive insisting the works should be covered by Nu-Look. Our Installations Manager also undertook a call with the Mr and Mrs Luxford who were verbally aggressive and demanding. Within ten minutes of the termination of that call an email was sent by our Installations Manager to confirm that Nu-Look would replace the mortar holding in the lead flashing with a flexible Lead Mate Sealant and also replace a ridge tile that had been noted as damaged by our service engineer, in addition an offer was made to get a quote for the client by an independent builder to undertake the exterior repairs, we have still received no response, just a negative review. Mrs Luxford states that her property was damaged during the last service visit in an attempt to ‘prove a point’, Nu-Look refute this claim in its entirety and have pictures of the property when the service engineer arrived and when he left which confirm the alleged damage did not occur as stated. It should also be noted that whilst the service calls should have been chargeable on each previous occasion as the fault was not with the installed roof, NO charge was made out of courtesy to the client and in attempt to maintain a professional and courtesy relationship therein. Nu-Look have asked that the client commissions an independent survey of the roof on several occasions and nothing has been received to date, just spurious accusations. Mrs Luxford seems insistent that British Standards were not met in the building of her conservatory warm roof, however, Nu-Look can confirm that all regulations and legislation current to the conservatory warm roof installation was adhered to at the time of the build and this is proven by the issue of a building control Final Certificate as per Local Authority Building Control. Nu-Look is a BBA registered company with ongoing inhouse and external auditing to ensure compliance to all standards at all times as proven by almost 4500 completed roofs and satisfied customers. All materials and procedures are compliant with the BS and BBA requirements at all times. We are deeply saddened by Mrs Luxford’s continued attempts to discredit the company and the attitude and manner in which she has attempted to discredit a business that all our employees care deeply about.
