As a retired RN with chronic osteoarthritis needing knee and a shoulder replacements pain is a constant. I’ve exhausted my options other than surgery when my Orthopedic provider suggested low dose radiation therapy (LDRT) google it. I was referred to Dr Taylor at North Cascade Cancer Center and completed three sessions a week for two weeks to both knees NO side effects I might note. It’s been a few weeks out and I’m already experiencing less pain able to walk without my cane, range of motion improved and not walking like a penguin….AMAZING!!! Is it 100 percent better no but I’m better off than not having it done and it’s been like a sigh of relief. I highly recommend the treatment and the staff is wonderful and totally professional!!!! Next up my shoulder FYI after you have the treatment you wait 10 weeks and if needed it can be repeated. My 10 weeks are not up till the end of July and I was informed results may even get better. If you know you know joint pain sucks here’s an option you might not be aware of get a refferal ✌️
I had a great experience at North Cascade Cancer Center! I was referred for Low Dose Radiation Therapy to treat my achilles tendonosis, with the hopes of avoiding surgery. I'm only two weeks out from my treatment course and am already starting to notice a positive difference in my pain levels, even occasionally waking up without pain — something that has been a rare occurance in the last 8 months. Dr. Taylor took great care to read my full (and lengthy) medical history prior to my appointment, and made the time to discuss pros, cons, and any risks of this treatment, especially as I am a bit younger than the patients typically considered for this treatment. My radiation therapy team was amazing, (thank you Ryan and Jeff!!). They always made sure I was comfortable, and hapily answered my many questions throughout the whole process.
I recently underwent a series of radiation treatments at North Cascade Cancer Center! The care, compassion and support provided by each team member was beyond what I could have ever imagined! Each individual care provider was incredible! They demonstrated the ultimate compassion, comfort and integrity! The facility was pristine and my need for privacy was clearly attended to! The environment was welcoming ! Thank you for providing me a peaceful warm place to rest my soul as I was faced with the unknown.
With much love and gratitude,
Rhonda Graywoods
Like most, I was extremely concerned when I learned of my cancer diagnosis. As I moved through the process from mammography to surgery to radiation, I found my experience with Dr. Hall and the North Cascade Cancer Center staff to be highly professional, very comforting and most reassuring. Dr. Hall and his staff are caring individuals who made my experience easy and efficient. Not least of all, they are top notch professionals in whom it is easy to place my confidence. Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you!
As a Canadian who was given an opportunity to travel to the USA for radiation treatment, I couldn't have asked for a better facility to go to. The staff are kind, caring, and super efficient. The Drs are fantastic as well. I'm almost sad I had to say goodbye, but overjoyed I'm officially DONE treatment! Thank you to the Dr's and staff for making it a wonderful experience.
Who knew it could be so seamless, caring, compassionate and educational! After 15 treatments, I came to and away with smiles, good cheer, patience and ANSWERS to my endless questions. The staff were memorable in their demeanor and communication from Theresa & Maddie to Sofia, Jeff, Ryan, Laura, Kristen and Tina. All were experts at keeping me engaged and at ease. Oh, and Dr. Hall... so happy I found you and for your generous time spent with me!
Cancer is an alarming diagnosis; no denying that ~~!!
Apres surgery in Seattle, radiology follow-up was indicated.
BUT, where to begin?
Seattle is 100 miles from my home in Ferndale;
not feasible for treatment 5 days a week,
for six to eight weeks . . . ? !!
We have to trust oncology referrals, as this is not a realm with which most patients are already familiar.
FEAR looms large, along with disarming doubt.
Luckily for me, Dr. Hall and two colleagues had just opened
North Cascade Cancer Center in April 2022. . .
The first appointment with Dr. Hall and his superb Oncology Nurse Tina revealed a magnificently
thought out and well designed facility on Horton Road ~~
Well away from the congestion of the other option!
Entering the building, patients are met with upbeat,
caring and intelligent front desk personnel . . . allowing
a much needed relaxing breath.
Sign in is effortless and efficient.
Spaciousness is enhanced by beauty . . .
art,
large screen scenic TV . . . and chairs both firm, if you
want that, or soft if needed.
The equipment is state of art, all new and not intimidating!
The radiation machines are like ballet dancers, performing
to your music of choice; attended by caring and highly
skilled technicians.
This facility has a carefully chosen
and deeply caring small staff; like a loving family, who make
patients feel safe, comfortable and important . . .
WE matter here.
We are not just slabs of flesh or a number!
This is a personal perspective,
from a previously terrified patient,
who feared the worst and discovered the BEST~~!!
