We had the best time on our side by side family tour. Both of our guides were FANTASTIC, very knowledgeable on the area and lots of fun. We expected this would be one of those hokey “take your money and put you on a dirt trail” rides, but it definitely was not. The trails were full of mud holes and rocks - at times you almost felt like you were rock climbing. We would totally do this adventure again with you all!! ABSOLUTELY worth every penny spent. You guys Rock!!!! One of my favorite things from our visit to New River.
We came into town for a long weekend and booked and evening ATV trip not really knowing what to expect. We arrived on site and were greeted by a very welcoming crew and one dog! They whole group from Sarah and Mike our guide was outstanding. We got to ride through the mud filled trails and see some of the most gorgeous scenery. We left there just over joyed. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We will be back and thank you to the whole crew and our guide Mike for making this a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. Well worth it. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Our family of five was wrapping up the tail end of the kids’ spring break. We had just left Gatlinburg after ziplining, thinking the best part of our vacation was already behind us. We didn’t know what to expect and were honestly a bit indifferent going in—but we were completely wrong.
When it was all said and done, we were amazed by the beauty, fun, excitement, and overall memorable experience. We truly can’t say enough great things. West Virginia has a hidden gem. You don’t often hear about WV other than as “flyover country”—but it’s far more than that. It’s God’s country.
As we drove through the mountains, we were greeted by the most pleasant dog ever—Sailor. Two gentlemen in the barn welcomed us with genuine kindness and professionalism, which immediately put my youngest son and daughter at ease.
Then Michael, our RTV and four-wheeler guide, made sure all of us felt comfortable and had a great time. I’d nominate him for Guide of the Year—he’s a keeper and will make sure you have a marvelous experience.
None of us had ever driven an RTV or ATV before—we’d only been passengers—so we expected a mild ride with a few bumps here and there. Not at all! We went on a wild adventure, and it was 100% worth it. At no point did we feel unsafe—we felt completely secure the entire time.
This place is truly magical. I wish the whole world knew about it—they deserve every bit of success. You will not be disappointed. Take your family, tell your friends, and have them tell theirs.

My family of 4 had a fantastic experience today with New River ATV. The weather was great, our tour guide Mike did a wonderful job leading our group of Polaris ATVs through hills, mud, streams, rocks without a hitch. Mike gave us a nice history lesson about the New River Gorge on the ride, had cold drinks for us, and took all the photos we asked of him without hesitation. Regarding the equipment, the Polaris 4x4 vehicles were clean, in excellent condition and worked flawlessly. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a real bathroom available for riders instead of a port-a-potty, but that’s not a deal breaker. Overall, we highly recommend New River ATV and Mike the guide to any person or families considering off-roading in the New River Gorge National Park area of WV.
Jacob did an amazing job! He was so kind and patient. You can tell he is a genuine nice guy that loves his job and his home state. Going thru the mountains of our beautiful state is never a disappointment and the view at the end was spectacular .Get out there and book your time today!
Most fun I have ever had on a tour - period. Jacob, our guide, was helpful and engaging and took pics and videos for my wife and I since we left our phones in our vehicle. We went through mudholes 2 feet deep and over rocks the size of small boulders. The Razor didn't stop for anything. The trails were long and challenging and we felt we definitely got our monies worth! We plan to return in the fall for another ride - cant wait. Kudos to the staff for a great time!
Most fun ever!
Best time and most fun I ever had on a tour. We rode through large mudholes and over small boulders on a challenging safe trail. Our guide, Jacob, was outstanding. We are going again in the fall - can't wait!!!
We had a great time as a family driving a side by side for 2 hours. I needed something to keep my teenage son busy on vacation and he had an amazing time and ended up muddy. I did all the driving and had no trouble even though it was my first time. It was worth every penny and I would totally do it again!

For my birthday weekend in March, my daughter and I traveled from Chesapeake, VA to West Virginia with one main goal — to try ATV tours. I researched several companies, and I’m so glad we chose New River ATV Tours. It turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable experiences we’ve had.
Perfect Timing — Off-Season Advantage
We visited in March, which is considered off-season, and it was honestly the perfect time to go. We were told that starting around mid-April and throughout the spring and summer, it gets very busy with larger groups and possible lines. Because we came before mid-April, it was just my daughter and me — which basically felt like a private tour. No waiting, no rushing — just a relaxed and personalized experience.
Beginner-Friendly — Even for First-Timers
This was our first time ever driving ATVs, and we were a little nervous at first. But the guides were extremely professional and patient. They started with a short training session around the facility, showing us how to operate everything safely. Once we felt comfortable, we headed out into the real adventure — forest trails, mud, hills, and climbs. It was exciting, fun, and very confidence-boosting. The guides truly know how to teach and make you feel comfortable.
Great Equipment & Options to Choose From
We drove ATVs ourselves, but they also offer different options depending on your comfort level — ride-along vehicles, different types of machines, and experiences. The ATVs were powerful, very well maintained, and felt safe and reliable.
Location — Super Convenient
We stayed at ACE Adventure Resort (New River Gorge area), and the ATV tour location was literally about 2 minutes away. Very convenient — you can simply drive your car over and park there with no hassle. That made the whole experience even easier and more enjoyable.
Personalized Experience
Normally, tours are done in groups, but because we came off-season, it was just me and my daughter. That made the experience even more special and personal.

This exceeded my expectations. I am an avid motor enthusiast and have done several lead/follow like events with Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW as well as race schools. I know this is offroad and not the same, but let me tell you, this experience is exhilarating, challenging, and fun. The operation was top notch, Anna was a fantastic trail lead and the machinery was flawless. How impressive. I had a family of 4 and we all had a blast -- but know we got muddy. Top to bottom. It washes out but be cautious of nice shoes. Ha.
