In December of 2019 I had an 8 level fusion. Wore the collar for 12 weeks. I had PTSD from that surgery. Chronic pain for 5 years. I swore I would never have another surgery. A friend of mine talked me into seeing Dr. McGowan. From the moment I met the people in the practice as well as Dr. Mc--I felt comforted, reassured and confident. Everyone I worked with was communicative and informative every step of the way. The members of his staff in no particular order Chelsea, Tess, Tessa, Ary kept me informed of each step and process as they evolved. They were immediately responsive to every question or concern I had. I felt listened to and taken care of. I hope you never need any of this practices' expertise but if you do I hope you use them. My life has changed in the last 4 weeks due to the care I received from them. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thankyou to Dr. McGowan and hia amazing staff. I’d like to take a moment to share some personal thoughts from my recent experience in the healthcare system. While I truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of our medical professionals, I have to admit I felt a bit disappointed when my surgeon, Dr. Jason McGowan, wasn’t able to connect with my husband after my surgery. I understand how busy surgical teams can be, but not having the chance to talk with him before I was discharged left me feeling a little uneasy about my recovery. On a brighter note, I want to give a big shout-out to Dr. McGowan’s amazing team—Chelsea, Tess, and Anna. They went the extra mile to make sure I felt cared for, and their dedication made such a difference during a vulnerable time in my life. I’m so grateful for their support! I was also really touched by a surprise visit from Dr. Samuels. He took the time to introduce himself and check in on me, which meant a lot. Even though he wasn’t part of my surgical team during the anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) procedure, he listened to my concerns about the swelling in my legs and was incredibly reassuring. His genuine care and attention made me feel seen and valued as a patient. The way Dr. Samuels Chelsea, Tess, and Anna interacted with me sets a fantastic example for patient care. This experience reminded me just how important compassion and genuine human connection are in the healing process. Building those relationships can enhance recovery and ensure that every patient feels like they matter, rather than just another number in the system. Healing is about more than just medical procedures—it thrives on meaningful connections. I hope my reflections resonate with others because, at the end of the day, it’s the heart of healing that truly makes a difference and every little act of kindness counts in our journey toward recovery.

Professional, transparent, empathetic, knowledgeable, caring, etc. Dr. McGowan & his staff are wonderful. They helped me overcome 4 denials in a two year battle with my insurance company that gave me the chance to live a higher quality of life. I was well educated of each stage of my surgeries and they were helpful with post op ways to support patients ex: PT or pharmacy. Thank you for allowing me to have hope again!

First class from first visit, through surgery and aftercare. Dr McGowan and his team turned a complicated medical condition into an uncomplicated recovery. I was provided the information that I needed for a recovery with minimum pain. Dr McGowan and all of his staff are wonderful to work with.

I highly recommend Dr. McGowan! I can’t speak highly enough about him and his staff, the timeliness of care, and the focused they placed on getting me back to my active lifestyle. Dr. McGowan’s bedside manner surpasses anything I’ve ever experienced. It was obvious from my first appointment with him and his staff, my priorities and concerned were theirs as well. Dr. McGowan’s experience resulted in the best possible surgical outcome and has guided extensive post-op care and monitoring. I’m extremely grateful to have found Dr. McGowan. While there are many variables that factor into surgical success, I believe Dr. McGowan and his team have given me the best possible care and outcome.

I had my accident in Colorado while on vacation. First surgery on my femur in Colorado Springs then flown to Denver for surgery with Dr McGowan. No conversations before or after with surgeon in Colorado Spring who did my femur. Dr McGowan met with me prior to my surgery in Denver and following my surgery, both times providing me with extremely helpful information and answering all questions I had. There was great follow up while I recovered in Denver and even once I was back home in rehab. Feel very lucky to have had him be the one who repaired my broken back. Thank you Dr McGowan!!

Dr. McGowan and his team are an excellent group of people. They are very knowledgeable, caring and provide exceptional care. Dr. McGowan performed an anterior/posterior cervical surgery which relieved symptoms of tingling and numbness. The care I received from my first appointment on was top notch! Highly recommend Dr. McGowan and his team at Neurosurgery One.

One last thing, Dr. Mcgowan is a wonderful doctor yes and Chris did a wonderful job on showing us the procedure on handling the bone stimulator and I gave him a five if it was a 10 I gave him a

I’m sending a shout out to Dr. McGowan and his team ( Chelsea, Anna, Tess, Chris). Dr. McGowan performed a neck surgery in 2022 and a spine surgery recently 2024 on me. He shows the care for his patients by sending his nurse (Chris) to set up equipment to get through recovery. I would recommend Dr. McGowan to any and everyone. Dr. McGowan not only explains the problem, he also fixes the problems. Dr. McGowan is an amazing surgeon with gifted hands as I continue to pray that God continue to guide his hands on his journey of success. May God continue to bless you and your team and stay safe.

Rene Rupp August 13, 2024 I was on my fourth back surgery by the time I got to Dr McGowen. He and his staff have taken excellent care of me. I just had my surgery a month and a half ago. They have all made sure that I’ve gotten what I needed and take the time to make sure I understand everything that’s going on. Chris just came 2 days ago with my bone stimulator making sure I knew how to use it. Thank you to everyone! You’re the best!

I'm writing on behalf of my husband, Jimmy Large. Dr. Jason McGowan is not only a great neurosurgeon he is a first rate investigator and problem solver. Jimmy says: Think, Sherlock and MacGyver. After months of a variety of tests, doctors and no answers as to why he couldn't walk, Jimmy was referred to Dr. McGowan. Dr. McGowan and his team got to work identifying the problem and putting a plan in place.
