Recently, Angela Bohnen, MD performed surgery on me after it was determined I had a brain tumor affecting the motor skills on my left side. This all came as a shock and surprise since I had no idea until it happened. I was referred to Dr. Bohnen and I am so very thankful she was my surgeon. Not only is she obviously well informed and very willing to answer any questions I had along with questions from my family, but she did so in a way we all understood. Her kindness and attentiveness was reassuring and comforting in an unsure time. I felt comfortable talking with her immediately. With complete confidence I would recommend Dr. Bohnen and will continue my recovery and any future neurological issues with her. Many thanks to Dr. Bohnen and her team!

Dr Bohnen is wonderful. She is very communicative. She explains what shes doing well and in a manner that works for someone that is not in medical. She is very thorough in her answers and responses when you have questions. Littleton Adventist as a facility was very clean considering its is currently under construction. The floor for surgeries was well kept and easy to access post surgery. The nursing staff was equally as wonderful. The whole group provided the same quality of care you should expect from a surgical team.

I went to Dr.Bohnen for a back problem she went over my MRI with me and explained everything. After talking with Dr.Bohnen I was very confident she could help with my back problem. I would highly recommend her and her team they are the best ! !

This Friday (9/13/2024) will mark the 1-year anniversary of my highly successful back surgery (Fusion L3-L4-L5) on Sept 13. 2023 performed by Dr Angela Bohnen. Without question my condition (lower back pain & sciatic nerve pain) has been eliminated and I can continue with my normal activities for an elder man (79). The care and advice I received from Dr Bohnen and AventHealth system/personnel have been outstanding. I would highly recommend Dr. Bohnen for any neurosurgery (back Surgery) condition you may require. Enjoying life pain free, again.

I have nothing but love for Dr. Bohnen. I saw her first in april for an astrocytoma, and the passion she has for her job and her clients is unbelievable. You know how most doctors feel like they push you in and out and maybe don't inform you all the way or give you all of your options? Dr. Bohnen is ANYTHING but that! Her first appointment with me she took her time carefully explaining my diagnosis and my different options. She told me a bit about her work and her studies, and I felt really confident in her ability to take the tumor out of my head. We scheduled surgery for May 30, and even my experience in the hospital was amazing. My surgery had no conplications and my medical team in the ICU for my 1 day stay were adamant on staying on top of my medications, monitoring my symptoms, and checking on my well being. My follow up appointments with her have been great. My last appointment my scar wasn't looking like it should and Dr. Bohnen is staying on top of watching my scar throughout radiation. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the level of care, attentiveness, empathy, compassion and care everyone here has. ❤️

Dr. Bohnen and her team were amazing! They explained everything clearly and concisely. Their entire staff was kind and courteous. My surgery Was a great success. I had a lamb ectomy on my L4 L5. I had been in terrible pain for the better part of a year. The pain was so bad. It was actually affecting my mental health. They took all this into. Account. They made me feel safe and secure in the decisions we were making. The day of the surgery, they explained everything so clearly and so simply they put my mind at rest. Within two weeks of having surgery, I had less pain after the surgery than I did before the Surgery! They were so thorough so efficient so kind I truly cannot thank them enough! Dr. Bohnen is a kind, compassionate, skilled neurosurgeon. In June of 2022 she and her team performed an extended fusion, a TLIF, on my painful back. It was a long recovery at my older age but I’m happy to be pain-free and walking as much as I want. The follow- up care was very good as well. Her office and nurses answered my questions promptly and provided necessary support. I would highly recommend her as a neurosurgeon!

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Bohnen and Erin C. They have been amazing to work with in a situation that has been very difficult. I don’t think I could have landed on a better neurosurgical team for my treatment that included a fusion. They have amazing bedside manner and have always gone above and beyond.

I was referred to Dr. Bohnen by my primary physician after my symptoms continued to worsen from a freak fall in the shower. I was almost fully incapacitated, hardly able to walk or stand. I was able to see Dr. Bohnen within a couple of weeks and she booked me immediately for surgery after meeting with me to discuss her diagnosis and the risk I was facing. She has assembled a complete team of medical staff which overseas all aspects; before, during, and after surgery. Is she good? Let’s just say I call her and her team, “miracle workers.” Literally the day after surgery all my symptoms disappeared!! Two months later I am still symptom free and in PT to regain strength. I was a very active 77 year old woman until my back became so painful that I couldn’t sit, stand or walk for several months. Dr Angie Bohnen diagnosed spinal stenosis and performed a successful L-5/S-1 fusion on my spine. The surgery was so successful that I am happily pain free. Dr. Angie gave me my life back and made it possible for me to have an active life again, for which I am most grateful!

Can’t say enough about Angela, Bohnen and her team I went in on October 4 and then again the next day on October 5 of 2023 for my four level fusion on my L spine level 2 -S1 , I waited too long and it was time, I had severe leg pain my feet going numb and just jolting my happiness and my way of living I do not remember much of the first and second day of surgery but what I do remember is how professional and calm the team was which made me feel confident after the surgery ,immediately my leg pain was gone through the entire recovery I was in very close contact with Erin and Angela they were very supportive and encouraging . By the fourth week I could really tell the difference not to say the recovery was simple, but they made it much easier, By six weeks Istarted PT and I could really see the difference. I started feeling myself again, other than some inflammation surgery has gave me my life back. I can walk blocks that I couldn’t walk before I can walk my dog go back to work without pain. I highly recommend this team they exceeded my expectations for Care and I’m very appreciative for my life back.

Dr. A. Bohnen was a lifesaver for my husband. He had been told by a Dr. at Stedman Hawkins in Vail that there wasn’t much they could do. He was told by that surgeon in Vail that the Dr. was too busy, etc., etc. Dr. Bohnen was direct but filled with Hope She made arrangements for him to be admitted within a week of first meeting him. She has always taken time to talk with us - making sure all of our questions & concerns have been addressed. She is extraordinarily smart, confident, thorough, bubbly personality, reassuring, and most of all…gave my husband HOPE. We think the world of Dr. Bohnen. Everything about this experience was more than positive! We both HiGHLEY recommend her!!!

Dr. Bohnen and her PA Erin are the best! Right from Erin's and Dr. Bohnen's first contact pre-surgery all the way through discharge we felt confident and blessed to have them doing the craniotomy on my wife, Linda. Can't thank Dr. Bohnen for braiding LInda's hair so that there are no "shaven" spots on her head. Of course, as well for a wonderful surgery!

A year ago I suffered a burst fracture (where the vertebrae basically implodes) during a fall, and had the profound luck both that my spinal cord wasn't damaged, and that Dr. Bohnen was the attending physician assigned to manage my care when I was discharged from the hospital. While the fracture was stable and I didn't initially need surgery to recover, about five months later I started experiencing disabling nerve pain as a result of the injury. Dr. Bohnen was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my journey; I met with her frequently as healing progressed and as things took a turn for the worse. She listened to me carefully throughout and understood my goals for recovery, ultimately recommending a multilevel spinal fusion to correct the anatomical issues and take pressure off the nerves. I was initially pretty afraid to do so--it's a major surgery and before it the most I'd ever had done was getting wisdom teeth removed--but ultimately decided to go for it as my quality of life had plummeted and could barely make it through the average day. She performed this surgery on me two months ago and while I'm still recovering from the procedure, I've gotten my life back and can finally feel hope for the future. She did a truly phenomenal job--I was in more pain the day before surgery than any day since--and the nursing staff at Littleton Hospital were likewise great. I regularly tell my friends that I received the best medical care in the world, since I can't think of a single aspect of it that could have been improved upon. The agonizing pain I was experiencing on a daily basis has completely vanished. I can't recommend her highly enough.

An MRI pinpointed my husband needed a decompression and fusion in his neck to stop the loss of movement in his arms and legs. Dr. Bohnen was the devoted to accomplishing the return of normal function for my husband. The degree of technology she and her staff used for the surgeries was incredible and amazing! Afterwards, she took time to get acute rehab approved by our insurance (a major task) which helped him heal and prepared him to come home. Her staff has been attentive and precise helping his year long recovery stay on task. We can’t thank Dr. Bohnen and her staff enough for all she has done for my husband. Thank You!

Dr. Bohnen Is excellent! She's smart , easy to communicate with provides you with comprehensive information to make a good decision about your health care. My surgery went extremely well and the care was excellent I would highly recommend using her at any time.
