Dr. Bohnen and her PA Erin are the best! Right from Erin's and Dr. Bohnen's first contact pre-surgery all the way through discharge we felt confident and blessed to have them doing the craniotomy on my wife, Linda. Can't thank Dr. Bohnen for braiding LInda's hair so that there are no "shaven" spots on her head. Of course, as well for a wonderful surgery!

A year ago I suffered a burst fracture (where the vertebrae basically implodes) during a fall, and had the profound luck both that my spinal cord wasn't damaged, and that Dr. Bohnen was the attending physician assigned to manage my care when I was discharged from the hospital. While the fracture was stable and I didn't initially need surgery to recover, about five months later I started experiencing disabling nerve pain as a result of the injury. Dr. Bohnen was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my journey; I met with her frequently as healing progressed and as things took a turn for the worse. She listened to me carefully throughout and understood my goals for recovery, ultimately recommending a multilevel spinal fusion to correct the anatomical issues and take pressure off the nerves. I was initially pretty afraid to do so--it's a major surgery and before it the most I'd ever had done was getting wisdom teeth removed--but ultimately decided to go for it as my quality of life had plummeted and could barely make it through the average day.
She performed this surgery on me two months ago and while I'm still recovering from the procedure, I've gotten my life back and can finally feel hope for the future. She did a truly phenomenal job--I was in more pain the day before surgery than any day since--and the nursing staff at Littleton Hospital were likewise great. I regularly tell my friends that I received the best medical care in the world, since I can't think of a single aspect of it that could have been improved upon. The agonizing pain I was experiencing on a daily basis has completely vanished. I can't recommend her highly enough.

An MRI pinpointed my husband needed a decompression and fusion in his neck to stop the loss of movement in his arms and legs. Dr. Bohnen was the devoted to accomplishing the return of normal function for my husband. The degree of technology she and her staff used for the surgeries was incredible and amazing! Afterwards, she took time to get acute rehab approved by our insurance (a major task) which helped him heal and prepared him to come home. Her staff has been attentive and precise helping his year long recovery stay on task. We can’t thank Dr. Bohnen and her staff enough for all she has done for my husband. Thank You!

Dr. Bohnen Is excellent! She's smart , easy to communicate with provides you with comprehensive information to make a good decision about your health care. My surgery went extremely well and the care was excellent I would highly recommend using her at any time.

Dr. Angie Bohnen is the nicest neurosurgeon I have ever had, she is very knowledgeable and kind. She is different from other neurosurgeons I have consulted with in that she has given me really good advice and seems truly concerned about my well-being.
She has gone above and beyond. Let me give an example, when I was 53 years old she (and not my primary care physician)ordered a bone scan which showed I had osteopenia, the precursor to osteoporosis. I was grateful because now I am making sure I don't develop osteoporosis.

Dr. Bohnen just did a right craniotomy with resection of a meningioma 2 weeks ago on me. I have to say, since being referred to Dr. Bohnen after having this tumor incidentally discovered a year and a half ago due to some hearing issues, I have NOTHING but amazing things to say about her. I also want to mention that the entire surgery team AND nurses at Littleton Adventist are PHENOMENAL. Dr. Bohnen made sure to explain everything to me in detail and put my worries at ease. I have never had surgery before until I had this procedure done, so naturally I was extremely scared and nervous. Now that I am on the other side of this surgery, I know it was the best possible decision and that I had the BEST possible neurosurgeon on board. I had very little pain and my incision is hardly even noticeable. I don't want anyone to have to deal with brain issues, but if you do happen to find yourself in that situation or know of someone in that situation -- go see her. She is the BEST and will take your health and healing journey very seriously. I am so pleased that I was referred to her.

She does not know medical basics and is unfamiliar with reality. I wouldn’t trust her to put on a band aid. She refused to provide her background and experience. She wants all records even though she already has them but refuses to provide any services under any circumstances. Her office claimed she has the most recent images but she said she does not so she was in no position to provide a real consult. She was the first neurosurgeon to be sent my records and the last to respond. She does not have the time for new patients. She is convinced that she is the only surgeon who develops plans and sends tumors to pathology even though she has the pathology for my two other tumors that were not removed by her. She said I have no hope of any recovery so the surgery is only to get to radiation and chemo of a tumor that is of a benign class. According to her, I will have symptoms for which any animal would be put down for the rest of my life.

I just recently had a lumbar fusion with Dr. Bohnen in February and had a C-spine fusion in October 2020. There is not enough good things in the English vocabulary to say about this talented, experienced, kind and caring neurosurgeon. I cannot thank her enough for giving me my life back and eliminating the Nuro deficits I experienced from my spinal cord issues. She is truly a professional, and I continue to refer her to other people that would benefit from her neurosurgical talents.

I didn't experience the entire hospital, but the emergency room and ICU I did. I am specifically rating a neurosurgeon Dr. Angela Bohnen, who is phenomenal. I am eternally grateful for having her do surgery on my father's brain. We went from a state of devastation and panic, to relief because of her. Through the entire process she has been so calming and confident, that the entire family felt he was in the absolute best hands. I do believe she is the best doctor I have ever come in contact with, and she is so professional- yet down to earth at the same time, which is needed while interacting with families that are dealing with probably one of the most traumatic events in life. I simply want to say, I appreciate her, and thank you for truly caring about my father's life-- thank you. She is five stars all the way!

Dr Bohnen and her staff treat me like family. They are all very kind and respectful. They listen very carefully to my issues and answer every question in detail. I feel so comfortable and cared for with each appointment and phone conversation. Dr Bohnen did a great job. I am so happy I chose her for my brain surgery. She has helped me with every aspect of recovery. Being diagnosed with a brain tumor is frightening and unnerving but Dr Bohnen and her staff have blessed me with professional care and kindness that are unmatched! My experience with Dr. Bohnen was during her time at the Mayo Clinic while she worked under a renowned neurosurgeon. Though she did not perform my surgery, she was key in my pre-op and post-op visits. I can tell you that I have never seen a more friendly, empathetic, patient, and caring doctor. She spent a lot of time on the phone with me and my wife as we worked through concerns before and after surgery. As smart as she is, there was never a hint of superiority, rather a partnership to solve problems together and answer all of our questions thoroughly. I would recommend Dr. Bohnen to anyone without reservation.
