Me and my partner Nikolaj just completed the 4 day poon hill trek with the guide Hem and porter Martrin. They were excellent from the beginning - took very good care of us, paced the hike really well and were very organised. We ate lunch at delicious spots and the rooms we stayed in were comfortable with great views. The guides were kind and friendly and we had a lot of fun laughs on the way. Highly recommend this company and the mountains will move you!

Indra not only made it a safe journey through monitoring our condition for altitude illness, yet also celebrated this personal milestone with us. Terrible experience
I consider myself an experienced hiker. I have done multi-day backpacking in the USA (2 days, unguided), in Vietnam (2 days, guided), in Costa Rica (3 days, guided) and done full day hikes in many different countries. So my friend and I decided to book a 3 day guided trek with this company. At this point, I am very aware of my capabilities as a hiker as well as my physical limitations. The manager, Himal, did not give accurate information about trail conditions when I sent the initial inquiry. I specifically asked if there were many stairs, because although I can manage uphill and downhill rocky slopes well, stairs are difficult for my knees. He told me that there were only some stairs on the first day, and then a “gradual, steady ascent”for the remaining days. This seemed perfect, and my friend and I booked the trek and paid a deposit. It was 3 days of stone stairs. Half of the hike (55-60%) were stairs. And then stairs all the way downhill. My knees were in pain. My poor guide, Tashi, had to carry my backpack for me and provide physical support (I was physically leaning on him). Days later, my knees are still hurting. Interesting to note, the guide Tashi actually told me that all the trails were like this (stairs), which is infuriating because Himal never told me this. Something else he didnt mention prior to accepting our money…this particular trek is meant to be done in 5 days. In fact, everyone we spoke to regarding the hike afterwards told us that a 3-day trek was quite aggressive for the route that we took. We told Himal that we were considering a 3-day hike, and he shoved a 5-day hike into 3 days in order to take our money instead of honestly warning us about the potential difficulty, given the physical limitations I’d already told him about. When I emailed the manager to demand an explanation, he admitted that he gave me wrong information (!). I encourage people to not book with this company, unless they are comfortable with the risk of being lied to. I will say, the Porter Narsing and guide Tashi were incredible despite the circumstances. I wish them the best.

Later, you told him that you would visit our office Kathmandu to make the payment. Unfortunately, you never came to our office, and you departed Nepal without paying the outstanding amount.Based on these repeated delays and unfulfilled promises, it became clear to us that you had no intention of settling the remaining balance. The Rolwaling trek : an human experience
The Rolwaling region can be explored through three trekking routes. The first is around Bigu Gompa and Tinseng La; the second is devoted to reflection and respect for traditions, with stays at the two monasteries of the Lapchi Valley and a meeting with the current Rinpoche; and the third, the most popular, is the ascent to Lake Tsho Rolpa. Diku and Ngima accompanied me on the last two routes. Diku was attentive to my expectations and guided me along paths that were sometimes difficult due to landslides from recent monsoons. The exceptionally heavy snowfall this year did not allow us to follow the planned itinerary across Yalung La, but it is only postponed. Diku brightened the ascents by singing and sometimes dancing. Ngima’s humor gave this stay a very special atmosphere. In addition, he was always there to help with cooking, as he is an excellent cook. Tsum Valley
Tsum valley is an excellent place to visit, amazing scenery dotted with historic buddist temples and villages. However it is also a fragile place with small local communities. Tourism is changing the valley, new buildings are appearing at every villages. It is becoming touristic with around 50 people entering the valley each day in april. These are too much, the number should be limited to not grow above this or everything will change and it will become like Manaslu. Nepal wilderness trekking company did not manage to organize homestays as we requested. It seems only touristic accomodations are available. There is a lack of sustainable tourism projects. Athough we chosed them for the homestay experiences they claimed they provide on other treks (e.g. Ruby Valley). There was some mistakes in the route length communicated to us, and in general it felt they did not provide much assistance (e.g. printed maps) to the guide coming with us. As well as they did not provide specific training to our guide in terms of culture and history of the valley, or they did not match us with a local guide despite us declaring in advance our interest for the cultural aspects. This is important for Tsum Valley as one encounters many ancient monasteries and specific local cultures etc. However, luckily our guide Yakub Tamang understood our interest in local culture and managed to arrange some detours along the way (Milarepa caves, Ripche village). I am sure more could have been arranged (unfortunately Nepal wilderness trekking did not communicate well with our guide in advance). Yakub has been an excellent guide making us feel safe and cared for at all times and listening to our needs and change of plans, as well as giving good advices. I would highly recommend him, especially in areas such as Ruby valley and Gorka in general.

Great experience with a well organised, professional company
We really enjoyed the treking and were impressed with the good communication from the company ahead of our trip. The guide, Bhim and the porter were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the tea houses and the delicious food they served. We weren't expecting hot showers so these were welcome at the end of the day. Bhim quickly learned our pace, arranged somewhere for us to leave our luggage and generally was very helpful and pleasant to be around. The porter was equally friendly. Glorious Family Trek to Annapurna Base Camp
We are just back from 8 glorious days trekking up to Annapurna Base Camp as a family holiday with our 18 and 13 year old. They declared it the “best holiday ever”. Over the last few months, Himal and Diku were great at helping us plan the trek over WhatsApp. Agni, our amazing guide, and Korna our ever-smiling porter, met up with us as planned in Pokhara. They were attentive to all our needs, and Agni was always available to answer all our questions on the region, the trek, religion, Nepalese culture, etc - and in the evenings great partners for our boys at Dhumbal, the classic Nepalese card game, just don’t expect to win :) We celebrated Nepalese New Year 2083 at ABC with the nost beautiful sunrise. How magic is that? This was my 4th trip to Nepal, my 3rd trek in the region, my second to ABC, and the first bringing my family (yes, I was much younger the previous times). If I do this again (which I hope to), I will definitely book with Wilderness Trek and would hope to be able to do it with Agni and Korna - thank you both!

Third trekking company I've been with and now I won't change, by far the best!
What a brilliant company! It felt super safe, organised and personal. We did the Manaslu Circuit. We were in direct communication with our guide Bimal over Whatsapp months before the trek which was fantastic. We could ask as many questions as we wanted. On the trail Bimal was professional but so friendly so he really just felt like one of the group. In the villages we felt prioritised; always having fabulous accomodation in the tea houses. Our porter Eakjraz was also amazing and really got involved with the conversation and getting to know us and not just carrying our things, so that personal touch was lovely. Our pass day was actually treacherous with very bad weather, but Bimal kept our spirits high, looked after us and really made us feel safe and supported in a difficult hiking time. My experience of Nepal Wilderness Trekking was nothing but perfect. We were lucky to have Saugat as our guide on the Manaslu Circuit Trek. He was easygoing, fun, and playful, while also being extremely professional and helpful whenever we ran into problems. I wouldn’t want to do another trek in Nepal without Saugat as guide.

Fantastic 11-day experience around mount Manaslu
I did the Manaslu Circuit and could not be happier with Nepal Trekking Wilderness. We spent a totalt of 11 fantastic days trekking around mount Manaslu. Our guide (Shogat) were very professional and took great care of us throughout all of the trip. At one point I got sick and Shogut was extremely helpful helping me get back in my feet. Could not recommend this agency and Shogat enough. Thank you!!
