We had the absolute pleasure of experiencing a private dining evening for a friends surprise birthday, and it was truly unforgettable! I’ve honestly never eaten anything so amazing before, every course was perfection. What made it even more special was how the chef took the time to talk us through each dish beforehand, sharing the ingredients, inspiration, and little touches that made it all come to life. It turned dinner into such an engaging, personal experience. The flavours, presentation, and atmosphere were exceptional from start to finish. It felt like fine dining in our own home, but somehow even better! A huge thank you for making the night so memorable. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough! Fabien is fabulous. Planning for a private dinner event with 15 guests was smooth, the food exceptional, and the team he brought was highly professional. What really blew my mind was how caring everybody was about the details of the dinner, the care about the venue, and the helpfulness in leaving the place cleaner than they found it. Fabien is a brilliant chef. The composition of the menu, the creativity with which he prepared the different courses, the gorgeous presentation, all Michelin Three Star quality. ..and the pre-dessert, wow! A hugely talented chef, meticulous planner, and thoughtful presenter, Fabien turned a birthday celebration into a memorable experience.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Fabien, and I can confidently say he is truly exceptional. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and exceeded all expectations. He is incredibly friendly and professional. Every detail was thoughtfully considered. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, showing true care and creativity. What really sets Fabein apart is his communication and attention to detail. The elements in each course were explained to our party from the preparation, sourcing of spices, and thought behind different protein choices - it truly made us feel like part of the cooking experience. Highly recommend for any occasion—this was an unforgettable experience, and would highly recommend for special occasions :)

I organised a private dinner with chef Fabien as a thank you to my friends for travelling to Queenstown for my birthday. It was such a wonderful evening, Fabien and his waiter took care of everything, we did not lift a finger. Food was fantastic, better than the restaurants in Queenstown. Table was set and cleared, all washing up done, bins emptied, not a thing was left for us to do. An extremely memorable night and would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Queenstown.

Our family of six recently celebrated a special occasion in Queenstown, NZ, and we had the absolute pleasure of engaging Chef Fabien Simon from My Private Chef. It was, without question, one of the most memorable and enjoyable dining experiences we’ve ever had. We chose the grazing menu, and every single dish was not only exquisitely delicious but also beautifully presented—true works of art on a plate. Fabien brought everything with him: the food, cutlery, plates, glasses, serving dishes, and even printed menus. He set the table, prepared and served each course with care, and left the kitchen spotless after each round. Fabien’s professionalism was matched only by his warmth and charm. He served us with a smile and joined in on our family’s banter with ease, adding to the joy of the evening. We cannot recommend Fabien highly enough. If you’re planning a special occasion and want a truly exceptional culinary experience, My Private Chef should be at the very top of your list.

Outstanding food and quite creative cooking to accomodate for various dietary requirements in our group (some gluten free, some vegan, and some meat eaters). I thoroughly enjoyed the service and explanation of each menu item from our dinner, which gave insight into Fabien's careful choices in creating such a lovely evening. Our family had the best time using Fabien as a private chef for a special evening in Queenstown, and I would love to enjoy his cooking again.

I had a cooking class with Fabien, which was amazing. I asked him for tips how to elevate dishes and he prepared several pages of recipes and variations for me. We cooked a 3 course French meal which was delicious. During the cooking Fabien gave me tips on how to make vegetable cutting easier and how to use special ingredients (Porcini mushroom powder, black garlic). I thoroughly enjoyed my morning of cooking with Fabien and highly recommend him.
