It took 3 hours to load my small 2 bedroom apartment. I had only budgeted for 4 hours because I have moved several times and itās never taken over 4 hours to move. They kept expressing to me over and over that āitās more timeā at any moment they had to remove a tv off the wall or disconnect my washer and dryer. They arrive at 9:45 didnāt finish loading until 12:30. Itās a FIRST FLOOR small 2 bedroom apartment with no obnoxious large furniture. I only wanted assistance with the furniture and heavy boxes. I called the office after 3 hours because they stated it was going to be another 2 to 3 hours to unload, so I was now looking at 5 to 6 hours of move time (and they still had not removed my only two TVs by this point). I stated I could only pay for 4 hours. But when the movers arrived at my new place and consistently told me that if they werenāt done within the hour, my things would be left outside for me to carry in. They were able to unload in an hour to a SECOND FLOOR apartment. How does it take 3 hours to load and 1 hour to unload UPSTAIRS?
Neither men bother to reconnect my washer or dryer. And when I asked, I was told, more time, more money. I am a single parent. I gathered quotes before choosing this place. I felt safe thinking I would get help from here. I had to tell them over and over to only take the large furniture, because I needed the most help with what I could not do on my own. I was so full of anxiety the entire day between trying to get it all in my home and worrying if these men were going to keep adding more and more time. One of the movers told me to have $500 in cash to pay and when I received the invoice it was $440. Yes, I understand tips are what youāre supposed to give WHEN THE JOB IS SATISFACTORY. I havenāt been able to connect my dryer and I have tried to be handy but I am not great at being handy, which is why I hired help! I am so overwhelmed with how they placed all of my furniture at the top of the stairs and did not bother to move any of it to where it needed to go. They literally would take the furniture up the stairs and leave it. My son and I were scrambling while they were doing this because we were worried they would leave our furniture outside. Iāve had such a hard time moving my furniture to where it needs to go and reconnecting my washer and dryer. My move date was the 18th and Iāve been trying to calm myself about the situation, but I donāt have a functioning washer and dryer right now. Iām overwhelmed trying to find someone to help me connect them. It sounds stupid to some, but to me I paid a company to feel rushed and I felt so small, like I am incapable of doing things for myself without someone telling me to pay more or figure it out.
Also, one of my painting was damaged!
