We just wrapped up two unforgettable days in Zermatt with Jacob Wells and The Mountain Company, and I genuinely can’t recommend them highly enough. From the moment we first reached out, Jacob handled essentially every detail of our time in Zermatt. Transportation, rail tickets, lift passes, e-bikes, restaurants, routes, meeting points, timing, packing recommendations — everything was organized before we ever arrived. We told him we wanted to make the most of a short trip, be active, see the best of Zermatt, and not spend our vacation trying to figure out logistics. He delivered exactly that. Saturday, Jacob spent the entire day with us hiking and exploring the mountains around Zermatt. Sunday, he took us out for an incredible day on e-bikes. Both days felt completely tailored to us — our pace, what we enjoyed, the weather, and what would make the day memorable. The best way I can describe the experience is that we never had to think about what came next. We simply showed up and enjoyed ourselves. Every last detail had already been thought through. Jacob is incredibly knowledgeable about the mountains, but what impressed us just as much was the level of care and hospitality behind the entire operation. He isn’t simply taking people on hikes or bike rides. He has built a company that creates complete, seamless experiences. If you are coming to Zermatt and want to actually experience this place rather than spend your trip researching trails, transportation, reservations and logistics, reach out to The Mountain Company. On Wednesday August 26, 2026, my son and I had a outstanding experience with The Mountain Company and especially with Jacob Wells. From the moment we stepped off the train in Zermatt, Jacob assisted us, not only finding him but fitting both of us with the correct bike for both of us. Jacob took us to an area to get our wheels under us and to get used to the bikes. After that we took one of the most scenic, exhilarating bike rides of our lives. The entire time Jacob made sure we were doing ok, while pointing out some of the most fantastic sights of Zermatt. He made sure both me and my son were having the ride of our lives. Which we did!! During lunch, Jacob explained what his company has to offer and does during the entire year. If you are looking for a bike ride, an all inclusive ski trip, of just a visit to Zermatt, Jacob and his team would be the first one (and probably the only one) you would need to contact. Unbelievably professional, and at the same time fun to be with.

Communication was excellent from the start, with quick responses and clear, helpful information throughout the booking process. The guiding itself was first-class. Matt is a highly skilled mountain bike guide who chose excellent routes suited to our group, with a great mix of challenging trails and spectacular scenery. He was also a genuinely nice guy to spend the day with, and his extensive local knowledge made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality mountain bike guiding in Zermatt. We would happily book with them again

We had an incredible experience with The Mountain Company in Zermatt, Switzerland. Our guide, Jacob, was fantastic! He shared fascinating insights into the local history, natural surroundings, Swiss mountain customs, and even offered some great culinary suggestions along the way. The hike took us through areas we would never have been able to discover on our own, making the experience truly special. Jacob was also incredibly accommodating and quickly adjusted our planned day to meet our needs, which we really appreciated. I have biked in many countries and multiple continents around the world over 30+ years. My guided ride with Jacob of The Mountain Company (TMC) rates as one of my top 5 rides ever. Starting with the booking and meeting arrangements TMC were proactive and responsive. Jacob assisted with a bike rental that was a top end Specialized which was set up (shocks and saddle) for my size and weight. I have too often made the mistake of attempting to guide myself only to end up frustrated. Jacob gave me various options, which included climbing, cross country, technical down hills and sweeping downhill flows. It was an incredible day. Jacob is a fine young man who was fantastic to converse with and would highly recommend TMC and Jacob. Thank you for a day I will never forget.

My parents and I had an extraordinary experience with The Mountain Company on our Zermatt trip. Jacob turned our wish list into a seamless, unforgettable week in Zermatt, with additional touring in Zurich, Bern, and Lucerne. From recommending an incredible hotel with Matterhorn views to securing stellar restaurant reservations, every detail was thoughtfully handled. The attention to detail and flexibility were outstanding, including moving our helicopter tour to a blue sky day so we could enjoy breathtaking views. Also, a special touch was the surprise birthday celebration Jacob arranged during one of our dinners! We skied with Jacob throughout the week and arranged separate off-piste days for the advanced skier in our group with Mathew. Even with different ability levels, everyone felt challenged and supported, and we all significantly improved by the end of the trip. We cannot thank Jacob and The Mountain Company enough for planning a true trip of a lifetime!! We are already looking forward to planning another trip with them!

From the very beginning, Jacob and Matthew made the experience seamless—from the planning stages before we even landed in Zermatt right through to the day of the hike itself. I just finished my hike with our amazing guide Jacob. I went on my yike with my two sisters and we had amazing time through the 5 lakes trail. I would definitely recommend doing this hike for anyone and especially with The Mountain Company. They made it 1000% better. A truly unforgettable experience.✴︎🏔️If you’re going to Zermatt, I highly recommend skiing with The Mountain Company—they will completely elevate your trip. Zermatt is already stunning on its own, but skiing there with them made it exceptional. Their team is highly professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Zermatt itself is breathtaking from the moment you arrive by train from Zurich(approx 3 hrs). The town is charming and peaceful, and just being there already feels special. Even for non-skiers, taking the gondola up to the mountains and enjoying the views alone is absolutely worth it. But of course, the real magic of Zermatt is skiing in its vast and spectacular natural surroundings—and that’s where The Mountain Company truly makes a difference. I took private lessons with them, and they supported everything from restaurant bookings to any advice. Lessons are flexible (half-day or full-day), and every instructor I met was experienced, skilled, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. What makes them exceptional is how efficiently they help you experience the best of Zermatt. Without a guide, it can be difficult to navigate such a vast ski area. But with them, every day is perfectly planned—you’re taken to the best slopes at the right time, with zero stress. I stayed in Zermatt for 8 days and had lessons for 7 days. Every day was different—new mountains, new runs, new experiences. They truly helped me make the most of my time. What made it even more special was the personal progress. I started skiing as a complete beginner in Zermatt in 2025, and now, after three seasons (Zermatt🇨🇭, Hakuba🇯🇵, and again Zermatt🇨🇭), I was able to ski a 13km run on the Italian side at an intermediate (red) level. That progress means so much to me. They don’t just make it fun—they also teach proper technique, so you genuinely improve while enjoying the experience.⛷️✴︎ Most importantly, the team is amazing.
