Our Fourth trip with the Moorings. Do again! YES! This was the fourth Moorings trip for my husband and I. We continue to choose Mooring because of their experience and personal care to make sure of a good trip. Our scheduled captain had an unexpected illness, so thus, we were upgraded to a bigger boat and assigned new captain and cook, Romano and Silvia. Romano was very familiar with the entire sailing area and assisted with the scheduling of our desired island spots (loved his personalized video of our locations when we were finished).. He even prearranged reservations, such as a lobster dinner and Moke (car) experience on Anegada (or favorite island). He knew to get us to the Baths before the cruise ships. And, took us to his favorite spot (not telling...it was a gem) the last day. Silvia is an excellent cook and such a sweet person. We missed her when we returned home and had do our own three meals and also missed our specialized happy hour drinks. Prior to trip we had noted that our daughter was celebrating her 30th birthday. We were delighted that they had purchased balloons and decorations and allowed us to write birthday messages on the window. Lastly, we loved their Croatian spirit and loved listening about their homeland. Would we pick Moorings again? Absolutely.

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience chartering a catamaran with The Moorings. Our group of three couples and a young child spent five incredible nights aboard Lilylolanni, and it exceeded every expectation. Our captain, Gilson Demelo, was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely wonderful with both the adults and our young sailor. The itinerary felt completely hand-crafted, allowing us to experience some of the most beautiful diving and snorkeling we’ve ever done, all while feeling relaxed, safe, and perfectly cared for. Every day brought something new and special, and the trip created lifelong memories for our entire group. The balance of adventure, comfort, and seamless logistics made this one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken. We’re already talking about our next charter together—and it will absolutely be with The Moorings again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable sailing experience.

Great facility, service and efficiency. The Moorings has an excellent base in Tortola. The staff is courteous and helpful, the pool and bar was a great place to hangout while waiting for our catamaran to be ready, and the inspection and launching process went off without a hitch. The provisioning store and market are very well stocked and the restaurant was very good.

Book your trip now!! A trip of a lifetime! I had the pleasure of traveling alongside Captain Romano and chef Silvia on a 7 day trip through the BVIs. Captain made sure to plan an itinerary filled with both relaxation and adventure while showing us some amazing spots. Silvia’s food was exceptional each day. They made a great duo and went out of their way to also make me feel special on my birthday! We loved our daily happy hours and sunsets.

MOORINGS SAILING EXPERIENCE We had a fantastic time on our week long Moorings charter with Romano and Silvia. They last minute picked up our reservation because our original captain had a sickness/ surgery come up. We’re grateful they didn’t cancel it, even if it was a quicker turnaround for them between each scheduled charters! They worked with us to curate our itinerary, menus (with someone who is paleo), and so much more. It seemed like there may have been a mix up with our preference sheets and what Moorings provided for them, but they stopped and picked up some of things we requested and didn’t originally get. Romano and Silvia recommended some great excursions off of the boat as well.

We loved Moorings! It had been a while since we had chartered from Moorings. Used other companies in other locations where Moorings was not or we found a cheaper rate. I must say, it was so nice to be back with Moorings. They are much more responsive and accommodating than we found with any of the other charter companies. . Staff is super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be using them again.

Great Trip with the Moorings to the BVIs Great trip and the Moorings did everything they could to make the trip a huge success. When the dingy motor acted up, they were there within an hour with a new motor. They were very friendly and easy going and it made the trip that much better.

Amazing Experience Our trip was a most amazing experience. Garth and Christine were fantastic in every way. Our meals were excellent, the sailing (our first experience) was wonderful, the island visits and Garth and Christine's information about them was so enjoyable. The boat was beautiful, the views were to die for, the excursions to the various islands via the dinghy were so much fun. We loved everything about this first visit to BVI--and our first sailing trip.

Such a fun time and you make so many memories My family and I did this trip for Thanksgiving two years ago and had to come back this year for the same time! We booked with Seas the Day with Andy and Linzi, two years ago and did it again with them this year. They are an amazing crew doing everything they can to make the trip perfect. Just finished a 6 night charter on a 45 cat with captain Libert. The boat was incredible and I could not have asked for a better vacation. Libert is a gentleman, amazing sailor, charted a perfect course, and all around great guy. If you are booking a charter consider asking specifically for Libert.

Amazing boat journey with Liber: great captain Amazing journey with captain Libert. On a 45 cat and had a great time.Libert charted a perfect journey, was a gentleman, and was able to give us a once of a lifetime vacation. If booking a trip in the future, I would certainly choose Libert.

We chartered multiple weeks this year with The Moorings, July and then again in October.. Both pre-booked earlier in the year. Both of our charters incurred significant maintenance related issues that caused us to lose days from our itinerary and caused tremendous discomfort while onboard. First, let me say that I really wanted to have a positive experience with The Moorings. While researching charter companies I looked past many of the negative reviews and instead chose what I considered to be the most established charter company in the world. I held a solid belief that should any customer service issues present themselves, that the Moorings would resolve them efficiently and effectively. I was proven to be completely wrong in that belief..!! Rather than getting into the list of the maintenance issues that we experienced, I would rather emphasize how poorly we were treated in our efforts to resolve the issues, and how little value the customer service department placed on the discomfort and inconvenience associated with the issues. The most astounding detail presented to us by customer service, was the small print disclaimer that air conditioning and watermakers are “convenience items” and that they apparently have little or no value to your “vacation”…!! In fact, monetarily, we were offered approximately $200 per passenger for the miserable experience of having no air conditioning and no watermaker for half of our vacation. Can you imagine staying in a $1000 per night hotel and being told that you shouldn’t expect air conditioning and water because it’s an added convenience.? Sadly, that is the perspective of The Moorings.. Unfortunately, for me, this last poor experience was shared with a group of friends who were all new to this type of vacation. I desperately wanted them to want to come back. Instead, they were treated to 4 nights of sauna level heat and an insultingly low offer of compensation for their misery.

A lot of issues with the boat we rented. Heavy gas smell in the cabin while running the generator being a big issue for my husband and I. Slept outside on the sitting area the first night because we did not feel safe. Sail issues as well. Those were addressed and fixed quickly. Only rating this a 3 star because we had a great trip but for the amount of money we spent there should be no issues.

Would not use The Moorings ! We had issues with our boat 5 of the 7 days. We lost a day and a half waiting on a Moorings repairman to come to our location. Even after what was supposed to be repaired our captain had to do it herself.

BVI - The Moorings Our power cat excursion to 7 islands in 8 days was fantastic. Loved the vibe, the food and the people. My only negative is The Moorings itself, the bathrooms and showers need a great deal of attention and thorough cleanings regularly... YUK! is an understatement for the bathrooms!

We just completed a 7 day charter in the BVI’s on a 45’ catamaran. There were 4 of us but the boat could have easily accommodated 6. It was an amazing trip! Our skipper, Chester, was the best! He was so knowledgeable about all the great places to go on the islands. He really made this one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! We wouldn’t hesitate to do this trip again and we would definitely request Chester as our skipper!
