This trip was magical. A life changing experience on so many levels.
Micato exceeded our expectations. Everything was well planned and thought out. The attention to detail and personal touch was something you don’t see with big corporations and something we value when we travel. Our drivers were knowledgeable, the lodging was amazing and the staff at every establishment were so welcoming and accommodating. The most majestic place we stayed was the Mahali Mzuri in the Massai Mara and that was probably our favorite viewing place for animals as well-so up close and personal. Our safari director Sammy was exceptional and was on top of everything.
We only wish Micato provided luxury tours around the world! We will definitely book another safari in the years to come.
We have just returned from the most incredible journey of our travel history: The Magic of India by Micato. Micato is world renowned for their luxury African safaris. Perhaps less well known is the extraordinary job they do creating and executing tours of India. When I say that this journey is the most incredible of our travel history, that means a lot because we have traveled to 109 countries either via land tours or cruising. This tour far exceeded our anticipation.
I sell travel for a living, and I never thought I would be fortunate enough to visit India through Micato.
When our Crystal World Cruise unexpectedly ended in Mumbai, we decided to contact Micato, specifically Marion Miller, who knows EVERYTHING about India and manages the India tours at Micato. Within a short couple of weeks, Marion put together an incredible Golden Triangle tour of India for us and another couple who are good friends. Let me tell you the ways Micato is different from other India Tour countries:
1. All the internal flights were managed by Micato and we were upgraded.
2. Our marvelous guide, Raj, actually met us at the port in Mumbai and flew with us to Agra.
3. We were met at the Agra Airport by our amazing driver, Iqbal, in a spacious van with reclining leather seats, and driven to our first hotel, the Oberoi Amarvilas. We were welcomed. With flower leis and a welcoming ceremony. Our suite was extraordinary! All these creature comforts were beyond our imagination. We had a sunset visit to the Taj Mahal and then dinner to cap this marvelous day. Our second day was equally memorable. Raj was with us every moment that we left the hotel and we always used the comfortable transportation driven by Iqbal.
4. The third day we were driven to Jaipur, the amazing Pink City. Again we were accompanied by Raj and driven by Iqbal. Our hotel, the Rambagh Palace greeted us with a sprinkling of rose petals. The hotel truly was a palace, and our suite even had a formal dining room. An example of the extraordinary care by the hotel: my husband has large feet (full disclosure) and the slippers provided by hotel did not fit. Unbeknownst to us, the hotel checked his shoe size and sent someone to a shop to buy him slippers.
This level of thoughtfulness was just one of many. Each day there were beautiful pillow gifts from Micato.
Laundry was included at every hotel.
Our activities in each city were well thought out and unique. Raj was extremely knowledgeable and his narrative enhanced the experience.
5. From Jaipur, we were driven to New Delhi, where we stayed at another fabulous Oberoi hotel. The days were full of unique opportunities! A local representative from Micato picked us up at 3 am for the drive to the airport to make our 6:30 am flight, and again our wonderful Iqbal was the driver.
6. Unlike other tour companies, Micato does not restrict you to a specific restaurant in each hotel, and does not limit what dishes you order.
7. Although I have booked guests for years with Micato, I never thought I would have the opportunity to experience them as a guest. They are truly the Gold Standard, whether in India or in African Safaris. No other company comes close. We had not one moment of stress about arrangements or transportation. The caliber of guide, driver, vehicle, hotel and food was beyond our dreams!
Thank you for an extraordinary experience!
I just returned from one of the best adventures of my life, and I've had many. Micato offers safaris that truly go above and beyond. Not only was it everything you could hope for in a safari, but the level of respect between Micato and the communities was unparalleled. Micato has such an impact everywhere they go and it shows. Wonderful company, beyond the outstanding safari they provide.
The Magic of India - Micato Style!
f you've ever dreamed of going to exotic India, you'll be amazed at how wonderful it is when you're there in person! But if you're going to go to India in person, you need to go with Micato Safaris! Micato makes an awesome trip even better! Our Micato advisor, Marion Miller, designed the perfect itinerary that covered everything we wanted to see and do. Then our personal Safari Director, Naveed Bhatt, made sure we experienced it all! They pick the best resorts, the best destinations, and they think of everything. When you travel with Micato, you never have to think about what you're going to do next, because they have it all planned out for you. And they take care of everything, from airport to airport and everything in between!
My experience with Micato Safaris was nothing short of exceptional—truly one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment we arrived, every single detail was handled seamlessly. I truly loved the fact that I did not have to think about anything. Micato has an incredible ability to anticipate your needs before you even realize them, allowing you to simply relax and enjoy the experience.
What made the trip especially memorable were the people. Our Concierge, Mercy, was wonderful—attentive, thoughtful, and always making sure everything was perfect. Our guide, Peter, was equally fantastic. His knowledge, instincts, and passion transformed every game drive into something unforgettable.
Micato also creates moments you’ll never forget.
They surprised me at one of the lodges with a beautiful 60th birthday dinner, which was completely unexpected and incredibly special.
Equally impactful was the opportunity to see the work of Micato-AmericaShare firsthand. Experiencing the difference they are making in the community added a depth and meaning to the trip that goes far beyond a traditional safari.
I can’t recommend Micato highly enough. They don’t just plan trips—they create extraordinary experiences you’ll carry with you long after you return home.
Micato Safaris delivered more than a trip — they delivered a transformational experience.
From the moment we landed in Nairobi at midnight, Peter and King Charles welcomed us with warmth and joy that erased every mile of travel. Jackie anticipated every detail flawlessly — even when our luggage was delayed, we wanted for nothing.
Our private visit to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was unforgettable — baby elephants playfully tugging at our hats with their trunks, pure joy and trust in action. At Sirikoi, we woke to hot coffee in our tent and elephants, giraffes, and lions roaming just beyond our porch. The property’s sustainability and Sue’s vision behind it were extraordinary.
At Bateleur, champagne greeted us on the runway and staff sang “Hakuna Matata” as we arrived. A sunrise hot air balloon ride over elephants and hippos felt sacred. One Maasai sundowner — listening to stories of heritage as the sky turned gold to violet — brought me to tears.
Micato doesn’t simply plan travel. They create reverence, perspective, and moments of stillness that stay with you long after you return home.
We came back changed — and deeply grateful.
We just returned from a Micato tour of India. Our guide Neveen Bhatt is very experienced, full of historic and cultural understanding, and pays attention to every detail of the trip. He also moved through airports and crowds with speed and finesse. Some highlights: Bandhavgarh national park and tiger reserve, where we roughed it in extreme luxury . Our guide Bhuvan Gopal was excellent, lively and engaging. In Bodh Gaya on Easter evening we sat under the Bodhi tree among many monks and chants. The enthusiastic guide in Kolkata gave us insights into the deeper aspects of Hindu religious thought. And throughout our trip , daily gifts from Micato would appear in our rooms, always timed in tune to our present experience and adventure. What a well planned tour! Thank you Micato. Renee Meyer
Micato India is less a journey and more a vivid immersion into a world that engages every sense. From the moment you arrive, it’s the people who leave the deepest impression—warm, intuitive, and effortlessly gracious. The whole Micato team, but especially our guide Hem Singh, doesn’t just guide you through India; they open doors to its soul. Whether it’s a quiet conversation over chai or an impromptu celebration in a village, there’s a sincerity in every interaction that feels both rare and unforgettable.
India itself unfolds like a living canvas of color. Saris in impossible shades of saffron, emerald, and fuchsia ripple through bustling markets. Marigold garlands drape temples and doorways, glowing against weathered stone. Even the landscapes seem saturated—lush jungles, dusty pink cities, and golden desert light that lingers just a moment longer than expected. Every turn feels cinematic, yet entirely real.
Of course, no Micato journey would be complete without the wildlife. Seeing a tiger emerge silently from the brush or watching elephants move with quiet power across the landscape is nothing short of awe-inspiring. But what sets Micato apart is how these encounters are framed—with respect, patience, and a deep understanding of the delicate balance between human and animal worlds.
They say “third time’s a charm,” but in our case, each of the three Micato safaris we’ve experienced has been nothing short of spectacular. There’s a consistency to the excellence, yet each journey feels entirely unique—new places, new faces, new moments that take your breath away. Micato has an uncanny ability to make the extraordinary feel effortless, and the familiar feel new again.
India with Micato isn’t just a trip—it’s a collection of moments that stay vivid long after the journey ends.
Just returned from the most magical trip ever to India through Micato. Many may not realize that Micato offers outstanding itineraries in India. Our trip with our guide/host Puneet Dan couldn’t have been more perfect. Every detail was spot-on from planning with our Micato US coordinator Marion Miller to the entire Micato team in India who work behind the scenes, absolute top in class! The communication amongst the team was highly unprecedented and so well executed. The sights, restaurants, transportation, hotels & experiences were incredible. We really appreciated the camaraderie of our group meeting over half of them for the first time.
If you are wanting to tour India, Micato is the company to have plan your trip. I travel often all over the world, and they are far the best company I have ever used. They greet you upon exiting the plane and escort you to your departure and of course every detail in between is perfect. They are worth the price and my recent trip to India was perfectly executed. I have traveled twice with them in seven-months. I only wish they planned trips to every destination on my list. They stay well suited in their lanes of Africa and India.
We just returned from our Micato "Soul of India" trip. Micato had planned every detail meticulously and it was executed flawlessly. This was our first experience with Micato but it will definitely not be our last! The knowledge of our guide, the luxury of the hotels we stayed in, the places we visited and the restaurants in which we dined all added up to make our India trip magical. It's the only way to go if you love being pampered!!!
My husband and I have taken 2 trips with Micato which have been exceptional in every way. We have been to India and on safari with Micato and loved both trips. Their unique and interesting itineraries, attention to detail, luxury accommodations, comfortable transportation, as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff is not surpassed. We are already considering another trip with them. Such a great experience to travel with them and a terrific company!
Micato is hands down the best safari outfitter. Our trip to Tanzania was outstanding from start to finish. The vehicles were spotless and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, making long safari days incredibly comfortable. Our guides were unbelievably knowledgeable and, by the end of the trip, felt like family. I would 100% book with Micato again and can’t recommend them enough for an unforgettable safari experience!
This is the one. Every detail, from passing through airports and immigration to laundry service is well thought out. You will want for nothing. Our guide (Peter Kintai) and drivers were skilled, knowledgeable and entertaining. This, for many, will be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Do not hesitate.
We have been to Africa with Micato in the past, and it was a 5+ star experience. So when my wife, Kim wanted to go to INDIA for a big birthday, to us it was a no-brainer but to try Micato India. Micato did not disappoint.
We were met upon arrival in Delhi at the gate and were fabulously accompanied throughout India until we got to Security in Delhi for our return to the US. Mind you, we had plenty of private time, most meals by ourselves, but frequently invited our personal guide to join us.
Speaking of our personal guide, Raj, was with us the entire two weeks, no flip flopping multiple guides. Raj was absolutely fantastic. Very personable, extremely knowledgeable, and funny. He quickly learned our personalities and we never got tired of Raj. (You should ask for him specifically when you go to India.) Raj and Micato are well connected in India too. After all, it is the birthplace of the Pinto family (owners of Micato.) Raj got us invited to a real Indian wedding in Jaipur (his cousin's), one of Kim's life long dreams, and we even got to meet the Maharaja of Udaipur (the gentleman in the orange turban in the photo.). We also had the best naturalist in Ranthambore, and got to meet tigers up close and personal, a major dream of mine and last of the big cats I had not seen with Micato.
The accommodations in Delhi, Udaipur, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Agra, and Varanasi were incredible. We loved the Oberoi hotels, and the Imperial in Delhi. Every detail is attended too... you are made to feel like royalty, which is appropriate as most of the hotels used to be palaces.
The itinerary mentioned above was a perfect blend of history, culture, religion(s), beauty and nature. It was certainly nothing like we were used to in the US, and fulfilled all of desires. Raj made sure we saw it all.
Bottomline.... Micato is every bit as fantastic, luxurious, and attentive to detail in India, as they are in Africa. I could not recommend them more highly. No, Micato is not a discount tour company, but you get what you pay for and then some. No wonder they ranked #1 for African Safaris. They should be considered #1 for INDIA as well..
