Incredible day on the water with these guys. Cheyenne, Amy and Captain Billy were awesome. Everyone on the boat caught their Halibut Limit. 10/10 would recommend!
Awesome Family Experience
I Booked a 2 species charter with Maverick Charters. My family came into town for the week when i was on a travel assignment at South Peninsula Hospital. Captain Bash and Deck Hand Casper were top notch. Very kind, friendly and the made the whole experience fun and unforgettable. Everybody caught there limits and were happy with the end results. Next go around will be 3 species so we can catch Rockfish to go along with our Halibut and Salmon.
Definitely fish with Maverick!
We booked 2 days of halibut fishing with Maverick, and they were the highlight of our Alaska trip! Being in Homer the last few days of the season, we were concerned about the weather and whether or not the halibut would still be there. But Faith was determined to catch fish and always had a plan. If one area was slow, she would try a few tricks, and if those didn't work, she knew where we should move to. We caught our halibut limits both days plus brought home bonus rock fish and cod. Faith was a pleasure to fish with. Her knowledge was impressive and her sense of humor fun. We'll definitely book with Maverick/Faiths again next time!
The only charter you should be booking!
This is the only choice when looking at charters off the Homer Spit. The company is ran by born and raised Alaskans with a ton of knowledge of the waters you will fish. Shout out to Sela for her skills, especially. She made the experience flawless every step of the way!

Best charter fishing company
Maverick is the best charter service around. Our group of six left port early in the morning. Captain Faith and first mate Pella brought us about 90 minutes into Cook Inlet. We were looking to catch halibut. The first couple of spots were slow fishing. Faith then took us farther out and there we were pulling in the fish constantly. Everyone caught their limit. Pella expertly filleted the fish while the boat was under power. Faith got us back to port in time for our catch to be spirited off for processing.Maverick is a family-owned business, and has a well earned reputation for excellence. They are very friendly and accommodating for fishermen ( and women) with physical limitations. Don’t hesitate to book a trip with Maverick.

We had a great first-time halibut fishing experience with Faith and Pelle! Faith ensured we found fish, moving to different locations quickly if we didn't get hits. A storm was coming in, but she made sure all 6 of us on the boat got our over and under halibut limits! Pelle did a great job keeping our lines baited and filleted the fish as we raced back to beat the storm! Great fishing and memories!
Awesome fishing guides - highly recommend!
My son and I spent two days going for halibut and salmon fishing. The captain Bastien and deck hand Casper were both very helpful, knowledgeable, very patient with all of us, and fun to talk to at all times. On first day, we were with a family from Idaho who’s been a repeat customer for the same boat for years - which speaks for the trust and quality of the work these guys do. We both learned a great deal, it was such a memorable experience, and highly recommend - we’d love to return next year. One advise - be sure to bring water proof clothing from head to toe - the weather out in the sea changes quickly and all that ocean spray all day long is no joke!

We had an amazing day with Captain Eric & his great crew! Everyone caught their limit of halibut in record time. We had a real treat getting to see humpback whales & a family of orca whales. Eric & the crew went out of their way to make the day an unforgettable one!
Halibut? YES!
We went out with Captain Faith and Pelle and four other people on the Pacific Sun - super nice crew. One reset and then we were on the fish! Everyone caught their limit by 12:45 - one big and one < 27". Pelle had filleted everyone's catch by the time we got back to port.

Halibut fishing in the halibut capital of the world with Maverick Charters!
Brought a group of work associates to Homer,AK and we fished with Captain Billy on the Ultimate! It was a first class experience both days we chartered the boat! Billy put us on the fish and even found an amazing whale show! Talia and Sela were our deckhand extraordinaries on the trip they insured we had properly baited hooks as they flew around the deck! Would highly recommend fishing with Maverick Charters while in Homer!
