Dance With Me
I signed (my child) up for Dance with Me to just let her spend more time with her best friend, but it ended up being so much more! She loved going there and really liked the whole experience. Not even mentioning showing off her moves to everyone at home.
Date of experience: 27 May, 2025
It's about the DANCER... not just the dancing
My kiddo has been dancing at MB since age 5 (now 15). Of course there's been lots of growth in the dancing (ballet of course, but also modern, jazz and tap), but even more importantly, MB has become a second home, with friends and community and supportive teachers and parents who care about the whole child, not just what happens on stage. As a parent of a teenager, it gives me comfort knowing that the dancers spend time with peers and adults who really care about what's going on in their lives, and puts their health and happiness above anything else.
Daughter has been dancing here for 10+ years. While I am impressed with her technique and skills, I am more impressed with the sense of community and positive vibes. This is truly a second home for her.
This studio has such a good energy about it. They are clearly body positive, and the dancers are supportive and have ownership over the space and their craft.
My girls have danced at Mass Ballet since they were 2 and 3 years old. I have watched them grow into beautiful dancers thanks to Meghan Powers and all the dance teachers at Mass Ballet. It is a wonderful school with teachers that take time with each student to be sure they are trained correctly to avoid any injury. My girls love going to ballet, not only to dance but to be with their friends in a fun, yet disciplined environment. I would highly recommend this dance studio!
This ballet school causes a lot of drama, is not teaching students proper ballet technique, and is dangerous to the dancers. First of all, parts in the Nutcracker and attention from the director in the classroom come from personal friendships/issues amongst the director and the students' parents. If the director doesn't like the parents, she gives students awful parts in the productions, creating drama and competitiveness amongst the parents (like in Dance Moms). The students do not learn to go on pointe properly because the teachers have no knowledge on how to teach them to do this specific technique or don't pay attention, so students use the wrong muscles. This has caused my daughter and her friend to get injured to the point where they couldn't dance for many hours again. My advise is, if your daughter/son wants to take part in the shows and/or go on pointe, find a different place that will really care for your child and their well-being.
First let me say I am so sorry that your family had a terrible experience. These are certainly not the standards of care and training that we strive for. I would love the opportunity to learn more about your experience. I have no records for a dancer with your last name. When did your daughter attend Mass Ballet?

It was a wonderful experience! The dancers were amazing!
My daughters have danced here since they were 2 and have loved every minute! We have been here for 10 years and watched Mass Ballet grow into a wonderful place to dance!
Mass ballet is amazing and has great teachers! I've been going here since second grade. I've made a lot of progress over the past years I've been dancing, and you meet lots of new people and make many new friends
