I’ll start off by saying that I have never left a bad review for any establishment. I’ll also say I have came here for the last however many years for cleanings, xrays, etc. Last year Dr. Chase Thomas put a crown on my back left tooth. $1500 or so. No big deal. But, some months later it seemed that it was put on a little high causing my teeth to touch on the left slightly before the right side. No major pain so I just figured maybe it just felt different. Who knows? Fast forward to this week. I had an appointment originally set for tomorrow (Saturday, Dec 13). I called Wednesday because it had been in pain and started getting worse so they fit me in. They tell me the tooth they put the crown on had been eating itself or decayed under the crown. Now, they showed me the xray from the year prior and the tooth was in good health minus the crack, which is why I got the crown. They tell me sometimes these things happen without an explanation…. Or maybe it was caused by my acid reflux. I said there is no shot that’s possible because I take something for it, which prevents acid from coming up, and all my other teeth are in good health. Interesting… right? I said how about because the crown was placed incorrectly or not sealed properly. The lady said possibly. She also told me I have an infection and prescribed me antibiotics and 800mg ibuprofen. We scheduled for Friday to have a discussion about pulling the tooth with the surgeon and starting the implant process if we decided…. But I did want to consider other opinions. Fast forward to today… I called in and spoke with Florence. I expressed my frustration and also suggested that Dr. Herman should discount me or take care of this per the conversation I had with my friend who is a dentist in New York being that this had to be caused by my teeth constantly grinding together… She told me the surgeon would be there and Dr. Herman would be as well to speak with me. I drove here from Ft Lauderdale leaving my office early. Drove 50 min. I called to give Florence a heads up that I was running 15 min behind. She said no worries. I get there… they take me straight back. The surgeon comes in with the most arrogant attitude I have ever seen in a professional medical environment. He said, “We doing this or what?” I asked if there was anything that could be done here. He said absolutely not. No one is saving that tooth. I know more about dentistry than everyone. I just sold my multi million dollar practice in New York and I’m an independent contractor. I don’t work for these guys. He then asked me arrogantly do you know what a 1099 contractor is? The guy looked tired but his eyes were bulging at the same time. I said to him if I have an infection wouldn’t we want to wait? He said open your mouth, looked quickly, and said you don’t have an infection. He seemed bothered to be there. No compassion at all. Seemed like he was on cocaine or adderall. I asked him for 5 min to call my wife to let her know I was going through with it. He said if I come back here in 5 min and you decide to not do this I will never treat you. I was just blown away. It took everything in me not to react the way I wanted to, but I did tell him to please not speak to me the way he was. So, he gave me 5. I grabbed one of the staff members after 3 minutes and she said he left and isn’t doing it. He left? I lost it. Unfortunately, I started cursing and telling them to call him and tell him to come back. They were like that’s not happening and you need to calm down or we’ll call the cops. Then another staff member screamed I’m calling the cops. It felt like I was in a bad dream. The absolute most bizarre awful experience I have ever dealt with in any professional environment. I got bounced out of a dentist office… what would you do if you were in my position? There were so many inconsistencies with what had been said. Hope I can speak with Dr. Herman.
My family has been patients of Dr. Herman for 3 decades. The service and care are excellent. The front desk staff has always been courteous, kind, cheerful and accommodating I’ve never had a bad experience with the front desk personnel. Dr Herman and his assistants, Belinda and Tina are cheerful and makes a dental experience less stressful. Belinda is super caring and is an asset to this office. They truly care about your dental health. Dr Winer is patient and gentle. His periodontal expertise and knowledge has made my periodontal issues less traumatic for me. His chairside manner is excellent. I would recommend this office to anyone who asked and have done so for 30 yrs.

I've been trying to get a treatment done as I was recommended by the doctor and all I get is rudeness and an attitude from the FD staff named Florence. Looks like you guys don't really care for your patients well-being. I am really disappointed and dissatisfied with your service at this point after calling multiple times and getting 0 help.

Carolina is the best hygienist I’ve ever worked with! She’s very cheerful, calm, pleasant, gentle, caring and yet very detail oriented. She’s done a great job with my deep cleaning procedure and explained in great details what the procedure entails before and after. I highly recommend her!

To begin with the room wasn’t clean. Please see the attached photo of all the unknown liquids that are dried and caked onto the arm of the tray holder. Also they tried to overcharge me. United (my insurance) said $25 co-pay for each tooth removal per their website and verified by phone. When it came time to get a breakdown they’re saying it’s over $700 a tooth now? No paperwork was ever given to me so I could even call United to verify the codes being used. They assumed I wanted the premium upgrades on my procedure and tried to quote me $80,000 out of pocket after insurance. Also I paid $50 for a consult in person because that’s what I was told I’d have to pay. Now all of the sudden I’m getting emails from United saying I owe $300? I’m not sure what’s going on at that office when it comes to money and insurance but it ain’t right at all. I’d stay far away from this office if you need procedures done!

I would like to thank Dr Weiner and staff for excellent care I have received, so far.I want to especially give my heart felt thanks to Belinda,who worked extremely hard for several weeks to get my insurance carrier to agree with Dr Weiners treatment plan. I would have hired Belinda to work in my practice if. I WAS STILL WORKING. Belinda is A very caring and patient person .I could not have afforded to get the work done that I needed had she not gotten the insurance to finally agree. I hope you appreciate what an excellent person she is at what she does for your practice.

INSURANCE FRAUD!!! Went to Mark Herman, DMD Dental Excellence for a simple cleaning. They made me pay full price of $99 even though I have insurance. Then I get a statement from my insurance company that they were billed $331, out of which insurance paid them $92, so this Dental Excellence office made $191 on my cleaning. At my expense. All my calls and emails to the dental office are being ignored.
Update... finally got a call and a refund of $99
