I am particularly grateful to Jen Cross, who did not hesitated to attend to all my queries, and for making this author experience graceful for me. As a first time author I am whole heartily grateful for this supportive, amazing, dream come through process and experience. THANK YOU MANHATTAN BOOK GROUP !!!
It seems that a new hybrid publisher is popping up every week. One of the things that was a draw to me about Manhattan Book Group is its connection with JJ hebert and Mariel Hemingway. Most of the other hybrid publishers don't have any identifiable names behind their companies. Call me old fashioned but like to know who I'm working with or last who's behind a company that I'm entrusting my book to.
Every week, it seems like there is a new hybrid publisher emerging. The Manhattan Book Group's association with JJ Hebert and Mariel Hemingway is among the elements that drew me in. The majority of other hybrid publishers don't have any well-known brands associated with them. Call me outdated, but I prefer to know the people I'm doing business with or the owners of the company I'm putting my book in the hands of.

Thank you for taking the time to review us here. We enjoy working with new and seasoned authors alike.
MBG publishers fulfilled their commitment and provided what was stated. This is all very new to me. I think I required a lot more support than I'd like to admit. They were the most useful tool I could have asked for. My group has shown professionalism and support. Let's go on to the next one.
I'm in the editing phase. I didn't want to go all in yet until the editing is done. I got my first round of edits back last week and I'm impressed. There were about 400 changes to my story which sounds like a lot, but it was spread out over 200 pages. Still, if those issues hadn't been identified, my book would be a serious disappointment to readers. I can tell just by the editing that they mean business. They truly want the best version of your book to be available to the public. Not like other “hybrid publishers” that don't spend the time to thoroughly edit, or so I've heard. I'm going to sign up for the rest of their publishing service very soon simply based on this experience so far.
They love my book as much as I do
I wanted to team up with a company that loves my book as much as I do. It sure feels that way with Manhattan Book Group. The whole team working on my book has been nothing but perfect throughout the process, offering advice at almost every turn to improve the book. They want this book to do as well as I do — it’s obvious.
Recommended
My aunt published a book with MBG and recommended them to me. We are about halfway through the process with my book, and everything has gone smoothly, from the cover design to editing, and whatnot, will update later if anything is worth updating or sharing. So far I recommend Manhattan Book Group!
I couldn’t be happier
I toiled away for years, sending out query letters to agents and publishers, and I wish I could get those years back. Manhattan Book Group has been a totally different and much improved experience in my writing career. My project manager truly cares about my project, it shows daily, and I couldn’t be happier.
The majority of the New York City publishers I sent my book to either immediately rejected it or I never heard from them again. Within a few days with Manhattan Book Group, the publishing director got in touch with me and asked for the manuscript. I signed an agreement within a week or so. They take a no-nonsense attitude, which I appreciate.
Hybrid publishing
Manhattan Book Group Publishers is a fantastic hybrid publishing option. Found them through a couple lists about hybrid publishing on Google. I had been looking for a good hybrid publisher for a couple years ever since I heard of the term. Self-publishing wasn’t for me because I don’t want to do all the work on my own and traditional publishing is a ridiculously slow process. MBG is a great fit for me.
We weren’t a good fit at the end of the day but J.J. Hebert gave me his time anyway. He talked about alternatives for what I was looking for and he definitely didn‘t have to do that for me. This firm is incredibly knowledgable and kind, a truly valuable member of the literary world. It’s not all about sales to them.
