I love the ambiance and decor of this restaurant. Steak had to be sent back because it was truly really salty. The beet salad was amazing. The pasta was fine. Service started out strong in the beginning but felt like we were forgotten about. Ordered another beet salad to go and they just packed up the 4 little pieces that were left. Definitely a miscommunication. Their cappuccino and drinks was excellent.
I have eaten here two times this month and each experience has been wonderful! We had the pleasure of being taken care of by Bella. She has been outstanding. She has made wonderful recommendations for food and drinks. The truffle mac and cheese is so creamy. The linguine, chicken and filet have great flavors.
With a great team in place, delicious menu, and a stunning view of the city, Maiella is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Queens.
Maiella is one of our favorite spots in LIC. The food is delicious, the ambiance intimate, and the service is excellent. Our favorite server, Bella, always makes us feel like VIPs whenever we come. We’ve brought many of our friends here and it’s also become their favorite restaurant, too! This restaurant is one of the BEST that Long Island City has to offer- a real class act!

Maiella is hands down my favorite place to eat in LIC ! We’ve been here 5 times in the last 5 weeks whether it was for a birthday, bringing our friends or just a Saturday night dinner…Always greeted with a huge welcoming hello at the door followed by a big smile from Billy on our way to the table. Carmine is always enthusiastically detailed when describing the specials and delicious menu. The bartenders do a great job with any drink we’ve ordered and any dessert you choose will keep you coming back for more. From the taste to the presentation, the food is top notch. Highly recommend the chicken parm, table side Cacio E Pepe, wagyu steak and the Brussels ! I think most of all, they’ve mastered the art of amazing service without ever rushing you. We’ll be back on our regular basis.
What can I say about Maeilla that truly does it justice? It’s a place that welcomes you with so much love and care, you’ll never want to leave.
My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, our last one alone before our daughter arrives this summer, and it could not have been more special. From the moment you walk in, the interior is simply stunning. The aesthetic strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, from the blossom trees to the thoughtful décor. It’s truly something you have to experience in person.
We were greeted and seated by Anthony, the manager, who I can confidently say is the soul of this place. In just a short conversation, he makes you feel like you’ve known him for years. That kind of genuine hospitality set the tone for the entire evening.
A major highlight right from the start was the focaccia bread with pecorino. It’s served complimentary, and I was blown away to learn it’s all made in-house. Honestly, it’s the best bread I’ve ever had, so good that I’m still surprised they don’t sell it (and I’m still thinking of it right now ) As someone who can be a tough critic, this alone set the bar at a 10, and the experience only got better from there.
Our server, Heidy, was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and full of great recommendations. We started with the calamari fritti, which was lightly battered and perfectly cooked, paired with a marinara sauce that was savory without being overly acidic. A fantastic start.
For our mains, my wife ordered the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti, and I had the cavatappi with sausage and broccoli rabe. While my dish was excellent, perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the true star of the night was the chicken parmigiana. It was, without exaggeration, one of the best we’ve ever had. I don’t say that lightly.
We loved everything so much that we had to try dessert. Everything is made in-house, and we went with the five-nut brownie. Paired with vanilla gelato and caramel, it absolutely melted in our mouths. The perfect ending to an already unforgettable meal.
Safe to say, as long as I’m around, this place will have my support. Amazing location, incredible food, and even better people. And one day soon, my daughter will be having her first meatball here. Maeilla has earned not just our loyalty, but a place in our family for generations to come.
I went to Maiella maybe 6 years ago during Christmas and the decor was so beautiful! It really stood out in my mind and I remembered really enjoying the food (when a restaurant stands out I don't forget it!). So, the other day when we were trying to make dinner plans for Eid, I thought Maiella would be a good fit for the occasion. The decor this time involved artificial cherry blossom trees, which was not as extravagant as Christmas, but chic and elegant. Towards the back there are large windows with a few of the beautifully lit Empire State building. I loved the setting and ambiance for the occasion, so I highly recommend if you want a beautiful setting for whatever occasion you have in mind. It seemed they also do rehearsal dinners. Anyway, food wise, oddly the Mac and cheese was my favorite dish. While I usually find the dish disappointing in most places, some reviewers highly recommended it and it was worth it. Very flavorful and I loved the crisp bread crumbs. Also had the eggplant appetizer, which was good, but I prefer that sort of dish to be more melt in your mouth in terms of texture, but hey folks may have other preferences. Chicken parm was huge like other reviewers said. You can definitely share. That was good too. Cacio e Pepe they will make in this huge cheese basin, which is neat. A bit heavy and cheesy for me, but good. We wanted to try to Branzino and short ribs (beef), but they were sold out (sigh). For drinks, we ordered mocktails. I had the macocktails. And my sister tried the other drink that had some spice to it. I didn't love the spicy drink, but she did. I preferred my mango mojito. The desserts were your basic cheesecake, tiramisu, brownie something I don't recall. I was searching for something more non-traditional, so we skipped dessert. Our waitress, Bela, was super sweet and had excellent (and honest) recommendations. She was great. They will also resold your napkin every time you leave your seat, which I said was sweet only for us to mess them up again. Service was great! Now for PARKING . . . Apparently yesterday was the first day you can park for free at the red garage across the street (to your left, across the street, when exiting). We found out as we tried to validate our parking. Missed opportunity, but they said they would take care of us next visit. So, I guess we need to go back again soon! LIC is also interesting. It's developed massively since I last worked there 10 years ago. The area has a lot to explore if you want to walk around or find other interesting food or drink spots, but I think most options are closed by 10. Just FYI, I really love the decor and ambiance in this place in December, and prefer that season for a celebration there. Good thing I'm a December baby! Any other big occassion like engagement, wedding, baby shower, holiday party--If the decor is as outstanding as 6 years ago, you will love this spot in the winter season. Hope this review is helpful!
Huge thank you to Tyler who made my mother's birthday special and sat us at a wonderful table, and to Ernesto for the top-notch service.
Food was incredible. I dine out quite often and am not impressed easily but I will say the food at Maiella was incredible.
Definitely recommended the tableside truffle pasta. Amazing!
Great service and food! The food was delicious! Would go again
Maiella is my favorite restaurant in LIC! The food, service, and ambiance are top tier. The servers are always so warm and go above and beyond every time. Must try the Chicken Parmiagana, the 6-hour roasted tomato sauce spaghetti it comes with is the best I have ever had!
Very very good Italian. Excellent pizza. Tomahawk cooked and cut a bit sloppily, but $165 is a steal for what it was. First time dining in LIC and enjoyed myself very much.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Queens.
