We had an amazing hen weekend at The Old Vicarage and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The house is huge, and despite there being 16 of us, everyone had plenty of space. The multiple bathrooms were a real bonus and something we found hard to come by elsewhere. The kitchen was fully equipped with lots of storage, and the hot tub was extremely popular! The train from Prudhoe Station into Newcastle was cheap and convenient, and The White Swan is a great nearby pub with a good food menu. The owner was quick to respond to any queries and shared really helpful recommendations. We would absolutely recommend this property for large groups.

Just returned from a weekend stay, the house was amazing! There's plenty to keep you entertained with a bar, snooker table, table tennis, foosball table and 2 outdoor hot tubs. The grounds of the house are beautiful. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend celebrating my 60th birthday with 17 of us, and this property was perfect for our group. The space comfortably accommodated everyone, with plenty of room to gather and relax. The kitchen and living areas were spacious and well-equipped, making cooking and socialising a breeze. The host was fantastic, responsive, welcoming and very helpful in ensuring everything ran smoothly. The location was ideal: peaceful, scenic and close enough to amenities for convenience but far enough to feel like a true getaway. All told, this stay exceeded our expectations and made this milestone celebration truly special. I’d highly recommend it for large groups looking for comfort, great communal space and a memorable time.

We have just returned from a hen weekend stay at The Old Vicarage. It was absolutely amazing! The house is huge and so well equipped. It is immaculately clean and everything is catered for. Had a great weekend with our family to celebrate a special birthday. This property is Ideal for large parties, spacious, clean & so warm. It’s good that there are so many spaces where you can find quieter spot. Neil the owner is very helpful. Nothing was a problem. We would highly recommend this property Local Pub 2 minute walk would highly recommend Sunday lunch.

We were a large family group with children and young grandchildren. Everyone had a great time and loved all the space in this characterful house. The kitchen is huge with a big table (which easily seated all 13 of us) and very well-equipped. There is a small conservatory just off the kitchen which has a smaller table ideal for children’s games and craft activities. The gardens are attractive with plenty of outdoor furniture but young children must be closely supervised as there is a low wall above a drop at the bottom of the front garden. There is a large village green nearby, also a children’s playground and a flat, easy, riverside footpath 5 mins walk away. All written instructions in the house were clear and Neil always responded quickly to any messages.

Just back from this gorgeous house. Perfect for getting together 4 generations. Comes with everything that you need for entertaining. Huge rooms, the house including the kitchen, was very well equipped. Lovely gardens and hot tub. Neil was very responsive. Would definitely stay again for a big family get together.

A fantastic house with wonderful grounds and beautiful rooms. Some of the showers did not work or there was no hot water. We struggled to get the tvs going but Keith was very responsive so it wasn’t a problem. The dishwasher didn’t clean very well. Needs rinse aid and salt I think. These are all resolvable and we would stay again and hope our comments help . Thanks for an amazing stay .

We stayed for 4 nights at the old Vicarage in Ovingham. Neil was very helpful and replied very quickly to any queries. Entrance was very straightforward. A beautiful home. Very very spacious, there were 8 ladies all with our own huge room. So many lounges and living spaces. Amazing kitchen area. Set in a wonderful rural village so close to a beautiful river and yet walking distance to the train station. There was a great sense of peace there. It was also very clean and furnished with quality furniture. A house full of character. We felt so at ease there. We appreciated the coffee machine and generous supply of coffee pods. Lots of lovely places to sit comfortably and relax. 2 dishwashers and fridge freezers!

We stayed at the Old vicarage in Ovingham over the weekend with a large group of 22 guests for our wedding, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The accommodation was absolutely ideal – spacious, comfortable, and beautifully set up for both big gatherings and quiet moments. The bedrooms were just right, giving everyone their own space when needed, while the communal areas were perfectly sized for us all to relax together, share great chats, and enjoy each other’s company. The kitchen was a dream – large, well-equipped, and with plenty of fridge space, making it easy to cater for a big group. The conservatories and living areas were light, welcoming, and made the whole place feel even more homely. Outside, the gardens and grounds were stunning and gave us the perfect setting to unwind. The hot tub was a real highlight – such a treat and enjoyed by everyone. What made it even more special was how dog-friendly the property was, which really was the icing on the cake for us. Being so close to our wedding venue at Healy Barn was also a huge bonus, making everything even more convenient and stress-free. It was the most wonderful setting for such an important weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for better. We would highly, highly recommend this place for anyone looking for spacious, welcoming, and beautiful accommodation for a large group. Truly unforgettable.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Vicarage with 4 generations to celebrate a 90th birthday.The kitchen /dining room was fantastic, very well equipped to cook/seat comfortably the whole family.The close proximity of the station was great for children travelling up from London.The local walks were beautiful and great for the runners and dog walkers in the family. We were blessed with beautiful weather to enjoy the celebrations in the garden and would definitely return for future family occasions.Neil was an excellent host, very responsive and helpful.

This house was perfect for the occasion, it was well presented clean and spacious. The location is perfect with a pub and shop 1 minute up the road and a direct train into Newcastle.
