The much needed massage I received was both relaxing and exhilirating, left feeing refreshed and free of neck/head pain I had prior to the service. I am an avid pickleball player and needed work on my shoulder areas. I was able to get an appointment quickly and received an excellent massage from Nando. He took the time to ask me what areas I wanted him to concentrate on and the specific pressure I preferred. It was one of the best sports massages I have had. I will be returning once a month to see him.

I've had a lot of very good massages, but my massage with Alessia was exceptional. She was incredibly detailed and brought awareness to some areas I didn't even realize were a problem. When I left, I was already planning how often I could come back!
As I was looking for a more sport oriented massage anyways, the atmosphere of Active Wellness Center matched that perfectly - but just be aware it's not a traditional spa experience. I only mention it as it can actually be a positive if you're not into the super quiet, sometimes stuffy spa environments / want something to do if you booked for more than one person.
My back had been aching and after researching several options in the area, I had a wonderful massage with Nando at Lux! (And I tend to get massage of various types every month or so). He has a strong, firm, and intuitive relaxing style and used a peppermint essence I loved that was so comforting and invigorating. The spa is very cute, clean, inviting and luxurious, and I love that it's inside the gym where I could also enjoy the sauna and get a workout in. Nando was extremely kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I would drive from San Francisco again for this and can’t wait to return.
