One of the more underrated restaurants in NYC. Draws a chic, diverse crowd. The seasonal menu is creative yet approachable and consistently delicious. Works for any occasion or group. Just an authentic chef-owned restaurant that does what it does well and doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The Leche de Tigre is one of the best cocktails I’ve had in New York and I don’t even like mezcal. Hope Lola’s is around for years to come.
We had reservations for 6:30pm on a Friday and it was pretty busy. Food and service were solid- highly recommend the naan and fried chicken!
Next time I come here, I want to sit at the kitchen counter. There’s also bar seating but I don’t think you can order food there.

Wow. Amazing find. The dishes were really amazing and the prices were reasonable (for NY :). I prefer the bar as it is more intimate. All the dishes were really good. I especially loved the tartar, crab and clam, and the chocolate dessert. Good selection of wines to accompany the meal.
Must try
Suman soda
House made naan
Carolina gold rice grit cake
Kale salad all vegetarian option
Crispy chicken thighs you can’t go wrong with
Heritage pork dumpling wow amazing
Lighter bento box we adored also vegetarian
All dessert were great love the cookie with the milk so simple but so yummy
We had the most incredible experience at Lola’s in SoHo celebrating our son’s 15th birthday, and it truly could not have been a more perfect dinner. Not only was the food exceptional, but we actually got to meet Suzanne — the chef and owner! I had seen her on Good Morning America, so meeting her in person made the night even more memorable. You can immediately feel her passion and intention behind everything she creates.
What makes it even more meaningful is the story behind the name. Suzanne named the restaurant after her great-grandmother — her “lola,” the Tagalog word for grandmother — as a tribute to her family’s heritage and legacy. You can feel that heart and history throughout the space and in every dish.
She’s traveled extensively and learned from many chefs, and it shows. Her food feels globally inspired yet deeply personal — thoughtful renditions of traditional dishes
The fried chicken was unforgettable — perfectly crisp and juicy. The bento box was beautifully balanced. The spare ribs were tender and rich, the beef tartare fresh and expertly layered, and even the kale salad was elevated beyond expectations. Every plate felt intentional — creative yet comforting.
Celebrating our son’s milestone birthday here made the evening even more special. Lola’s isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience rooted in family, heritage, and extraordinary talent. We will absolutely be back.
We stumbled across this place last minute and are so glad we did!! From the moment we walked in to the last bite of dessert, our dinner at Lola’s was amazing. Every dish showcased such creative and ambitious flavor combinations that somehow felt perfectly balanced—subtle yet incredibly expressive. The chef’s thoughtful approach to ingredient pairing and seasoning brought out the best in each plate, and every bite felt like subtle perfection. The atmosphere was inviting, the service attentive, and the menu thoughtful and inspired. We can’t wait to come back and explore more!
We’ve been here three times and have never been disappointed. Everything we’ve ordered has been excellent. In particular, we’ve loved the gumbo oysters, naan, lettuce wraps, salad, fried chicken, short rib, and the miso cookie (the list could go on and on).
The pricing and portion sizes feel appropriate, and the cocktail list is fantastic. While it is a fusion restaurant, it leans more toward Asian cuisine than the Southern cooking we’re used to. That said, we really enjoy the Southern elements woven throughout the menu.
We're looking forward to returning to try the lunch menu in the future.
Our only wish: please add the basil gimlet to your year-round cocktail list.
We had a truly tasty and chill meal here. Started with the tilefish lettuce wraps-delish. For the mains, we had the chowder and the pork dumplings. Excellent fusion-driven food with exceptional freshness of ingredients and preparation. Service was very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommended.
