Mal tour , muy triste por la experiencia porque las ciudades son lindas
So, I wish that 3 things were specified on the description 1. that the guide doesn’t really speak the language 2. The tour is not informative (to the point in which you practically pay for the transportation only )3. That you’re not allowed to ask questions Here’s why I just said this, I’ll leave a summary at the end if you don’t feel like reading the detailed description of the awful trip.We begin by saying that they arrived late, we were told to arrive 15 min earlier and they arrived 2 min after the tour was supposed to begin (so we skipped breakfast at the hotel for nothing) The cities we went to were truly beautiful and that is why I’m giving this 1 star instead of 0. the “guide” if you can call him that way, was not really speaking the language, it was supposed to be in Spanish and half of what he said (I think) was in Portuguese so it was really hard to understandHe was giving close to none information, he gave some fun facts but I really learnt close to nothing about the history of the places we were at. I learnt more from chat GPT than from the “guide” because since I truly wanted to know about it I actually looked for info on the phone (and we weren’t the only ones looking at chatGPT)He was also impolite and seemed to be angry during the whole trip When another tourist from our group approached him to ask some questions he was really mean and didn’t responded his question at all, he told him that he said it earlier on the bus (which is not true ) on top of it he gave us 10 min to take pictures and he literally clapped at us to approach him to leave the place, as if we were dogs! This happened several times during the tour like honestly that’s not the way to handle things at all and much less if you’re supposed to be a guideI’m seriously disappointed and even though I was expecting to have a good time with my family and learn from the cities, we ended up trying to codify the few things the guy said, had to handle being mistreated, using data on chat gpt and not being able to truly enjoy the trip. It’s a shame because I loved this cities and they’re truly beautiful but it was a waste of money to pay for this “tour”, for this I would’ve payed the transportation by myself instead of booking this and I would have saved myself money and a bad experienceHonestly, with a guide like that you don't enjoy the cities; you even get grumpy with a guide who's always in a bad mood. It was imposible to enjoy the trip properly And you might ask why I’m I writing this in English instead of Spanish if my tour was in Spanish? Because I truly want this to reach more people to save you from the bad experience, after this I don’t understand why this so called tour is rated as well, maybe we just got unlucky with the “guide”In SUMMARY: -The guide didn’t spoke Spanish properly and it was hard to understand him even as a native speaker-He was mean and disrespectful-his explanations (what could be understood) were halfhearted and with no true information -He was grumpy during the whole day and that energy is shared so we didn’t enjoy the trip at all !!! It's amazing how a “guide” with bad vibes can ruin your trip-I would have saved myself money and a bad experience by doing this without booking the tourBtw the guide’s name was Tiago barata
Definitely worthwhile!
My husband and I had an incredible day on our "small group" wine tasting Douro Valley tour! I put small group in quotes because we wound up being the only two people on the tour because it was a less popular day and time of year! Lucky! Bernardo, our guide, was incredibly informative, interesting, funny, and nice. We felt lucky to be assigned to him. We loved all of our stops (a charming town called Amarante, two wineries, and the promised boat tour). The boat tour was gorgeous! The scenery was incredible throughout the day, and the history was fascinating.
Rained but did not pour on our fun. 😎
Despite the bad weather I had a blast on this! The wine was delicious, the valley was beautiful, and my group was social. Made great conversations with this Singapore family and talked basketball with the guide. The meal we had in the tent was great. I even got some nice photos, one of which will be my LinkedIn photo going forward. Would recommend this to anyone in Porto. Well worth the day and makes me want to become a sommelier.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Douro Valley Experience!
This tour was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Portugal. The Douro Valley is absolutely stunning, but what made the experience exceptional was our guide, Alex. He was knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly engaging from start to finish. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and his enthusiasm made the entire day even more enjoyable.Alex shared so much insight about the region, the wines, and Portuguese culture, all while keeping the group entertained and comfortable. The winery visits were well-chosen, the lunch was delicious, and the river cruise was the perfect relaxing break in between. If you’re visiting Porto, this excursion is a must. And if you’re lucky enough to get Alex as your guide, you’re guaranteed an amazing day! Highly recommend.
Worth visiting!
A great trip. The story of St. James and the pilgrims is interesting. The area of the church is quite nice and does have good restaurants and shopping. Seeing pilgrims as they end their journey is very cool. We had a great knowledgeable leader, Susanna. We were very glad we took this tour.
