Interesting, away from crowds and fun
Very interesting tour. Loved walking around at night in an area with very few tourists but lots of historical places. This was my third visit using this company for a tour and none of them disappoint. They are always informative, fun and small groups. I can’t recommend them enough and I take tours all over the world.
Small Group, Big Experience — A Fantastic Trastevere Tour
We joined the Hidden Gems of Trastevere with Jewish Ghetto tour with Live Virtual Guide, and once again, Federica was our guide. Even though there were a few other guests this time, the experience still felt surprisingly intimate. I get the sense that Live Virtual Guide prefers to keep their groups small—and it really makes a difference. Everyone could participate, ask questions, and easily join in the conversation.Just like in the other tour we did with her, Federica made sure we were comfortable throughout. She always gave us a chance to sit and relax when possible, and on roadside stops she was attentive about keeping the group safely out of traffic. What I enjoyed most was how her storytelling flowed. Each stop connected naturally to the next, creating one cohesive narrative rather than a series of isolated facts. It made the tour feel richer, more thoughtful, and much more engaging.Highly recommended if you want a meaningful, well-paced walk through Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto—especially with a guide like Federica who truly knows how to bring Rome’s history to life.
Federica Brings Rome’s Dark History to Life — Highly Recommended!
I joined the Dark Side of Rome Tour with Underground Bones Crypt with Live Virtual Guide, and our guide, Federica, instantly felt familiar—probably because I’d been seeing her fascinating short videos on social media in the weeks leading up to the trip. Experiencing her storytelling in person felt almost exclusive, especially since it ended up being just me and my family on the tour. What made the experience stand out was how interactive and engaging Federica was. She encouraged us to ask anything at any point, and she has this great way of building suspense—sometimes answering your questions only when the story naturally reaches that moment later in the tour. It kept us hooked the whole time.I also appreciated how thoughtful she was with pacing. She let us sit and relax whenever there was a good spot for it, and at roadside stops she always made sure we were safely out of traffic before diving back into the history.Overall, it was fun, fascinating, and surprisingly immersive. If you’re considering any of Federica’s tours, I highly recommend them—she knows how to bring Rome’s darker stories to life in the best possible way.
One of the Best Experiences of Our Entire Trip
We had the absolute best time on our food tour in Monteverde with Frederica. From the moment we met her, it was obvious she truly loves her neighborhood and that made all the difference. Every stop on the tour felt like stepping into a local gem we never would’ve found on our own.She walked us from place to place she personally handpicked. At the daily market, we visited a tiny produce stand where they made fresh-squeezed juice with carrot, apple, and other amazing flavors. We even ended up meeting a famous artist who lives in the neighborhood. Then we stopped at a deli for Chianti and a spread of sliced meats and cheeses, and the way each shop greeted her like they see her every day which made us feel like we were getting a true insider’s experience. Our kids stayed engaged and excited the entire time, which is saying something. The rhythm of the tour was perfect: relaxed, authentic, and full of stories. Somehow all the noise and crowds of Rome disappeared, and it felt like we were just wandering from one great moment to the next while learning about the area, the history, even Julius Caesar. This was some of the best money we spent on our trip. Truly worth every euro. If we ever return to Rome, I would book every one of their tours, without hesitation. It was that good.
Interesting Tour with Room for Better Pacing and Group Care
I joined the Rome Historic Center tour with Underground Piazza Navona and while there were definitely interesting moments, the overall experience felt a little uneven. Our guide introduced herself as an archaeologist, and her depth of knowledge was clear from the start. She had a lot of fascinating facts and insights about the places we visited. However, the way the stories came out felt more like spontaneous bits and pieces rather than a cohesive narrative. As a result, I found myself getting lost at times because the information didn’t always flow naturally from one point to the next. The tour was described as a slow, relaxing walk, but it didn’t quite feel that way. One of the participants was in a wheelchair, and several of our stops were at roadside areas with passing traffic. It would have helped a lot if the guide had taken a moment at each stop to position the group somewhere comfortable and safe—ideally where we could sit and take in the sights while listening. Instead, she seemed very focused on delivering her spiel, often standing in places where it was hard to settle in or even hear properly.I genuinely appreciate the guide’s expertise, and the route itself is beautiful, but with a bit more attention to pacing, storytelling flow, and group comfort—especially for guests who may need mobility considerations—the experience could have been much more enjoyable.

Hello Dario, thank you for your feedback. We take it very seriously, and we have already taken internal action to improve. We also noticed that you left 5-star reviews for the other two tours you took with us, so we are happy to know you fully enjoyed the rest of your experience with us. 🙂Just to avoid any ambiguity, the areas of the historic center of Rome where this itinerary takes place are pedestrian areas within a limited traffic zone. This means that the roadside traffic you mentioned is from taxis, which are the only vehicles allowed in these areas—for example, around the Pantheon or Piazza Sant’Eustachio. These are the same places where all visitors walk to enjoy the sights. We wanted to clarify this because your comment made it sound as though we were walking on very busy roads, rather than in pedestrian zones. 🙂In any case, we are sorry your experience wasn’t perfect, and we would love to invite you to join another tour with us free of charge to make up for it. We will reach out to you shortly via WhatsApp or email.
Must do authentic Roman food tour!
I follow this company on Instagram and wondered if the experience would be as good in real life. Well let me tell you it was EVEN BETTER than on Instagram. Our guide was the beautiful Frederica. From the moment we met she made us all feel like old friends catching up to spend a morning together. Federica took us to places that have been run by families passed on to the next generations that keep up the traditions that they were raised with. It is the best value most authentic food walking tour that you could possibly do in Rome. It is out of the tourist area of Rome in the area Federica grew up in - Monte Verde. It is very easy to get to by bus from Rome or an inexpensive taxi ride if you aren’t confident on pubic transport. I highly recommend this tour and would consider doing it again for the pure joy of the whole experience! One word of warning: DON’T EAT BEFORE THE TOUR!! There is so much deliciousness that you need plenty of room to enjoy every bite. Thank you Federica for a wonderful adventure!
Don’t hesitate to book!
So glad I booked this tour! Our guide, Francesca, was fantastic. Being from Trastavere and an archeologist, she was passionate about the area and beyond knowledgeable. We learned so much in our 2 1/2 hours but also didn’t want the tour to end!

For those who are past Rome:101
I had high expectations after seeing youtube and was not let down! A gem of a tour, a lot of new information and a fantastic guide who created a wonderful mood! Next time in Rome I am definitely taking another tour. The group was perfect size to soak up the content and move efficiently from one location to another. The tour is perfect for anyone and is of optimal length.
The BEST ever experience in Rome
Sometimes you follow things on social media that look amazing but sadly disappoint in person. Please note: This is NOT the case with Live Virtual Guide!!!!Federica is even more engaging in person than she is on Instagram. She immediately made us feel like friends hanging out together rather than being part of a tour. Sometimes in Rome you see huge groups of people following someone carrying an umbrella and wonder what if anything they get from that type of tour. But this tour is completely the opposite!Federica took us to amazing places filled with a real sense of community where we were made to feel extremely welcome. I can’t even begin to describe how delicious the food is. The only way you will know is to do this tour for yourself! I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. If you want an authentic Roman experience, please do this tour. But one warning. Go with an empty stomach to make room for all the tasty treats you are going to eat. Thanks again Federica for a beautiful experience. I can’t wait to do so another tour!Julie
