Fabulous Experience!
David and Laurie were excellent Hosts and made us feel like we were visiting a family home. The fee was nominal for the excellent experience. They provided all information about the farm animals and how to safely feed them the provided snacks. Our 4 yr old great niece enjoyed bottle feeding a baby goat. All 7 of us enjoyed this adventure and have shared it with family and friends!
This was such a great experience. We brought our 2 year old daughter and she loved seeing and interacting with the animals. We got to learn about the animals, feed and pet them. This farm has goats, sheep, chickens, an alpaca, mini horses, hairy pigs, Scottish Highland cows, a cat, and 3 amazing Great Pyrenees dogs. Worth the visit! We will definitely go again!
We brought our two year old son and I was a tad worried as he’s still learning boundaries. But the hosts make it incredibly easy for kids to be kids and in other areas to have the boundaries and they have lots of “safety moments” along the way so the kids know what’s expected but not too overhwhelming. Truly the best part of our trip.
Beautiful location, cute highlands cows were outside in the farm when we woke up. We got so excited looking at the cows. The cabin is small, cute and was perfect for me and my fiancé. A lot to do around, we went to Isha Institute of Inner Sciences ans spent our time mostly there. One thing I loved about the hosts was they shared the local recommendations. We will visit again to see all the waterfalls and go on hikes !!
This is such a hidden gem! We were wanting a peaceful escape and that is exactly what the Highlands Cottage is. The hosts were so nice and gave good recs for breakfast in the morning. Waking up to the cows and having a breakfast picnic at the picnic table was an amazing way to start the day. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
We came to do our third Mammoth March (20-mile hike) at Fall Creek Falls State Park, and couldn't have been happier with our stay at the cottage! It had everything we needed, was cozy and private, great outdoor space with fire pit, charcoal grill, picnic table, and storage bench with games to augment the modest inside square footage, and the animals were friendly and amusing. David was warm and friendly and easy to talk to, and was gracious enough to accommodate a booking mistake in my part. We'll be back to spend some additional time on the farm and explore other nearby hikes soon, and would highly recommend this for any nature/animal lovers looking for a great getaway.
