Enrolling our son at Little Locals, Auchenflower, has been one of the best and most reassuring choices we’ve made as parents. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt a genuine sense of warmth, professionalism, and care — and that feeling has only grown stronger with time.
Our son has flourished in both the Nursery Room and Toddler 1 Room. The transition between rooms was incredibly smooth, thanks to the thoughtful support and gentle approach of the educators. Every team member we've encountered has shown such dedication, patience, and kindness — they truly go above and beyond to create a safe and joyful environment for every child.
We are especially grateful for the centre’s bilingual staff, which has introduced our son to new languages in a fun and natural way. It's such a valuable opportunity at this early age, and we’ve noticed how excited he is by new words and sounds. This kind of early exposure is something we really cherish.
A heartfelt thank you to Amalia, who leads the Toddler 1 Room with incredible warmth and energy. That said, we genuinely can’t single out just one person — the entire team is fantastic. From Nursery to Toddler 1 and beyond, the educators are not only skilled and caring, but truly beautiful people who treat each child with love and respect.
We also love the creativity and variety in the daily programming. Themed days are a huge highlight for our son, and he always comes home full of stories, songs, and excitement. The centre also hosts special events for families, which we absolutely adore — they make us feel connected, included, and part of a truly wonderful community.
And we can’t forget the delicious, nutritious meals! Our son eats so well at daycare, and we’re so impressed by the quality and variety of food provided. It’s such a comfort knowing he’s not only enjoying his meals but also being introduced to healthy eating habits in such a positive way.
Under the leadership of Jan, the centre runs with warmth, integrity, and a deep commitment to both children and families. Her approach sets the tone for everything — and it shows.
The centre itself is clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed to support both learning and play. The outdoor space is a huge favourite for our son, and it’s clear he feels completely at home here.
The communication is also outstanding. We love receiving daily updates, photos, and reflections — they help us feel connected to our son’s day and reassure us that he is safe, happy, and thriving.
Little Locals, Auchenflower, has become so much more than just a daycare — it’s a second home for our son, and a place where he is truly known, supported, and celebrated. We are so grateful to be part of this beautiful community and couldn’t recommend it more highly to other families.
With all the turmoil surrounding the childcare centers, I will leave my honest review. My daughter attended in 2024, but I pulled her out because they left the room unsupervised for at least 15 minutes with five kids inside. I was waiting for the educators to come, but no one came. Yes, it was a full 'Karen' move, but I needed to be sure of what was going on. They said one parent left the door open in the morning when dropping off their kid, but still, there were three educators outside chatting, and none checked for the missing kids? I was amazed, which is why I went personally to the educators and told them what was going on, and I complained immediately at the reception. They checked the cameras and apologized, but I couldn't leave her there anymore.
Additionally, I also saw educators working in the kitchen a couple of times. I noticed poor hygiene when changing nappies, as they were not putting paper or any linen on the changing table between kids or spraying the changing tables between uses. She was coming home with bites, and on a couple of occasions, no one did an incident report or noticed that this happened to my daughter (imagine that!). She was also coming home with nappy rash, which is extremely concerning. I really hope this helps any parent seeking information for their children.

Absolutely awful experience. Some educators are lovely but on the whole the centre really lets down the educators, parents and mostly the children. In late 2023 We had a long, ongoing experience of being bitten almost daily, severe nappy rash, sun burn, being left alone in the room, staff being bullied - hopefully it’s improved since then. But as this was our first daycare experience I regret leaving my child there so long, especially when comparing to our new centre and seeing how good it can be
Little Locals in Brisbane deserves the highest rating possible. When my family and I relocated from Perth, we were apprehensive about how our little boy would adapt to the new environment. However, Little Locals went above and beyond to ensure a smooth transition for him. From the moment we walked through their doors, we were greeted by their incredibly friendly and always smiling staff. Their commitment to exceptional customer service was evident in every interaction we had with them.
What impressed us the most was how easily accessible their customer service was. Whenever we had a question or concern, they were just a phone call away, ready to assist us promptly and efficiently. Their dedication to ensuring our satisfaction was truly remarkable.
Overall, I cannot express how satisfied I am with the service provided by Little Locals. They not only helped my little boy feel at home in Brisbane but also made the entire relocation process much smoother for our family. Their staff's unwavering positivity and their commitment to excellent customer service truly set them apart. Little Locals is undoubtedly deserving of the highest rating for their outstanding service.
Our family could not rate little locals Auchenflower more highly! Our little guy came from a family daycare to this centre and we could not be happier to have made the move. Everyone there, from management, the educators and the chefs, are just the most wonderful, caring and accomdating crew we could ask for! They have truly gone above and BEYOND to cater for my son and my needs as a nervous first time mum. The centre is so beautiful and provides such a wonderful atmosphere and environment for our little guy to live his best life. I feel so comfortable leaving him in the capable hands of all the staff there and love that he has each meal made fresh for him by the chefs onsite. Truly a wonderful centre
Nurturing educators who care about the development of children and individuals, really nice facilities (including splash pads, in ground trampolines, an INDOOR SLIDE) and programs including Pilates and the much loved bush kindy.
Our child has thrived in his time with little locals - he has built strong relationships with other children and staff, and has the confidence to try new things. He absolutely loves coming here. Highly recommend.
We love Little Locals! After attending 2 other local centres, we finally found our home at Little Locals. We have been at the centre since it opened and have been impressed with the management, educators, value and the centre itself. The time and effort the staff out into the children is amazing. We feel so fortunate we found them and couldn't recommend them more.
My daughter has attended Little Locals for over a year now and we love the centre. The staff are incredible: reliable and kind. The centre is beautiful and the children are happy.

We love Little Locals, both my boys absolutely love going which makes me feel at ease and no stress at drop off! Their facilities, meals, educators, educational toys and extra curricular programs are next level with no added costs to worry about. Everything this centre does is about supporting their sustainable philosophy and providing the most value for their families. I haven’t come across another childcare like it.
Could this be the first childcare centre built for kids?! I always thought childcare centres, were built for the purpose of adults needs, until I stepped into Little Locals Auchenflower!
Seeing is believing! The facilities are second to none. What child doesn’t like a water park! Indoor play slide! Play forts? Not to mention Bush Kindy, Pilates, Music, and Dance lessons. The food is made by a qualified chef, my daughter loves the food so much, I recreate some of the recipes at home!
As a parent you often worry is my baby / child ok? I don’t worry at all, I know my daughter is in a supportive, inclusive environment and having the time of her life!
We love Little Locals. The management and educators are professional, capable, friendly and really dedicated to the needs of the children. Our daughter enjoys the extra-curricular activities such as Bush Kindy, Pilates, Henny Penny Chickens and Wild Animal Encounters - there is always something new and exciting. Karen the chef cooks a variety of healthy, fresh meals. The centre has been built so beautifully in an old church and who doesn’t love the indoor slide !
We have been through 4 day care centres throughout our sons life, and Little Locals has by far exceeded our expectations. Part of this includes their busy kindy program. Rory is always so excited to come home and share his stories and experiences from the day. A few weeks ago, we spent a Sunday morning venturing out to the area where Little Locals conduct bush kindy and let Rory lead us through his adventures. What we experienced was amazing and it really has created a sense of confidence for our son to be exposed to nature and learn the elements of world outside the classroom.

After moving from interstate we had looked around at so many daycares in the area to find the right one for our three children - for me it's all about getting the right "feel". As soon as we walked in the doors we knew this place was special. There have been no teething difficulties as you would expect from a new centre - it is clear that it is run by highly experienced childcare operators and educators. The facilities are outstanding, the educators are warm and caring and foster a community feel where each family and child is valued and the bush kindy program is a wonderful added bonus! I highly recommend Little Locals.
We recently moved from another centre in the area and have been delighted with our choice. The centre is so well run and makes us feel very confident that our child is in safe hands. We have found the carers to be the most engaging and hands on out of all the centres we have used over the years and their facilities are second to none. Incredible job to have achieved this level of standard in such a short period of time.
We are extremely happy to have chosen Little Locals as our son’s daycare centre. While the fitout, cleanliness and meal quality are second to none, what we value the most is the team who works there. It’s a pleasure to walk through the doors each day and I feel incredibly comfortable dropping my boy off every morning, knowing how well he’s taken care of.
