Very secluded and comfortable accommodation about 90 minutes from the cities. Located in a quiet village away from main roads. All of the rooms have been designed with thoughtful architectural details. Every room has access to outside space, where you can light a fire and enjoy a meal. Although off grid there was no problem with hot water or electricity supply. Meals are excellent: menus are suggested in advance and dietary needs are easily accommodated. Only wish I could have stayed a little longer.

Overall experience was great. Host Rodney is superb. Absolutely must have the sough dough bread that Rodney bakes himself. 10/10. There's a bit of a dirt road to the farm which can be challenging in a smaller car. Definately stock up on food & drinks if you don't want to do frequent trips to town.

Easy travel. Nicely secluded. Quiet. Great host. Fully catered = perfect easy-getaway ☺ Breakfast- the homemade bread. Dinner was fantastic. Host was fantastic. lots of firewood. cute accommodation. ☹ some of the fruit served at breakfast was not fresh

Lovely stay, great meals available. Rodney made us feel very welcome and is an excellent cook. We stayed at the Loft to enjoy the privacy and view from the terrace. We liked the walk to the dam and watch some birds. You will infinitely regret it if you do not let Rodney cook for you!

A beautiful farm stay off the grid with the most delicious food I recently took my boyfriend for a getaway from the corporate jungle. Little Forest Farm was the perfect find. We were warmly greeted by host Rodney who was in touch from the day before we arrived. Rodney’s communication throughout the entire time leading up to our arrival was fantastic. From receiving directions to a list of things to do in the area to curating our 3x course dinner menu. We really were made to feel welcome. The menu was personalized to our favourites. We arrived to a beautifully neat cottage and were allowed an early check -in (as guests had left slightly earlier). A picnic table was set up at the dam .which was a kilometre away from our cottage .on the farm. It was so private and magical. Then dinner at the BOMA was truly romantic & exceeded our expectations. We had a mussel pot for starters with home made sour dough bread (baked by Rodney himself) in fact all our meals were prepared by our host Rodney. The starters were followed by the most delicious lamb shanks we’ve ever which were served with veg & melting in our mouths mashed potatoes & fresh herbs.. Then the beautifully glazed cream brûlée left us feeling totally over -indulged. It was an evening we will remember forever. The entire time I stayed at the farm I was in awe of the environmentally friendly way in which the farm was run. We had perfectly heated water for a shower with the rocket donkey wood fired up heater for the geyser. We woke up to the sound of sheep bleating . We enjoyed a hot cross bun Easter breakfast in our cottage verandah. Everything from the time we arrived to the time we left felt like exactly what we needed for our souls ri be at peace.. Thank you Rodney. I’d recommend Little Forest Farm to all my friends & anyone who wants a simple farm getaway - an only 90minutes drive away from Sandton. .
