Genuine heart, easy conversation, and a calm presence that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. His cooking alone is worth the trip—simple, wholesome, and made with obvious care. The place itself carries a peaceful, grounded energy. Clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful nature all around, and that quiet feeling you only get when a place is truly looked after. It’s the perfect spot to rest, reset, and breathe again. If you want a stay that feels personal, welcoming, and rooted in real human warmth, Little Forest Farm is the place. We’ll be back.

Winderful ☺ This is an incredible retreat... The serenity and tranquility of the location, coupled with the exceptional hospitality, made for a truly rejuvenating experience. Being an hour and a half away from the city's hustle and bustle was the perfect escape. Kudos to Rodney, the host, for going above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. It's fantastic that he accommodated our request for halaal meals and took the time to prepare a variety of delicious dishes. The presentation of the food were stunning, and flavourful. It's clear that this place has a special charm, and it was wonderful to experience it. ☹ Nothing... Stay is to short.

Restorative catered rustic getaway - what a pleasure! ☺ Rodney’s place is a peaceful and relaxing space to get away from city living, with lots of animal life (sheep, dogs, fish, birds, squirrels). It is only accessible by dirt road and is fully “off the grid”, which adds to the remote feeling. The guest unit is rustic and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches. I especially liked having filter coffee provided. Rodney offers meals and we would highly recommend you take him up on this! Dinners were preceded by sitting next to the fire in a little boma, and the food was carefully crafted, delicious and generous. Breakfast included freshly baked sour dough bread which was heavenly, and a selection of other fresh and cooked options. Rodney himself was kind, engaging and just an all-round lovely person. If we lived in Jo’burg we would escape to Rodney’s on weekends on a regular basis!

Was such a lovely healing time for me and my partner, filled with laughs, joy, great company and delicious food! Rodney is an incredible host - empathetic, attentive and considerate. Whether you prefer complete privacy and isolation, or would like to be a bit more sociable around the fire, he will ensure that your needs are met. We stayed in the loft and were greeted every morning by the sun, but could laze around regardless, hearing nature around us. The unit was neat and clean and perfect for cooking smaller meals or braaing outside on the private balcony. We had morning coffees outside and inside and enjoyed strolls around the farm. The biggest highlights were definitely the DELICIOUS food that Rodney would prepare at an additional cost, but it was well worth it. We will be coming back soon and would recommend this to anyone who wants a break away from the hustle and bustle of life for a bit, as well as for more relaxed business travel (even for remote working because there is free WiFi!). Just note: there is about a 10min dirt road before you access the farm, which makes travelling out sometimes feel a bit longer (which was the only downside of the trip), but the farm is actually very central to activities in the area (within 30min from town and interesting venues).

A great break from civilization ☺ Rodney was an exceptional host. We felt very welcomed by him. He was attentive and made sure we were doing okay throughout our stay. 10/10 for vibes. His staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Wilson was the sweetest and hiked us up to the spring, lit our donkey, and made sure everything was clean.

I keep on coming back here, simply because of the service that Rodney gives. He is so consistent and makes sure you have the best experience while you are there. It's like a home away from home. If you're looking for a time out from your busy life, thats the place to go. The food Rodney prepares is out of this world. Made with love and he pays attention to detail. The bonfire is my favorite spot to chill at night. I will always highly recommend this place.

Exceptional ☺ Ronald🌻🤍....an amazing host..Easy going👌🏽☺️Ensured we're comfortable, settled...and cared for the entire stay. Loved everything about it. The atmosphere..away from the hassle and bassle of the city. The walk to the lake was refreshing.. And we loved the fire ofcourse...Indoors and Outdoors..Therapy🔥🔥 wood galore. A game of monopoly while at it to put some fun in it. Woodwork and decor in our cottage was 👌🏽very cool. Absolutely a gem. Wonderful experience all around. We plan to go back soon.
