We had an incredible experience with Rodrigo as our private tour guide! He took us on a hike to La Leona Waterfall and guided us through a tubing adventure down the Rio Colorado, and everything was absolutely top-notch.
Rodrigo was knowledgeable, professional, and made the entire experience both fun and safe. He knew the area inside and out, shared interesting insights along the way, and paced the hike perfectly for our group. The waterfall was stunning, and the tubing ride was such a unique and exciting experience.
What really stood out was how he went above and beyond—he even acted as our personal photographer, capturing amazing moments for us that we’ll always remember.

We had an incredible time at La Leona with Finca Curubanda. Our guide, Rodrigo, was the best tour guide we have ever had. We did both the La Leona waterfall adventure and the river tubing adventure as a stopover during our transport from Guanacaste to Arenal regions. We arrived fairly early, so we had several sections of the hike to ourselves. Rodrigo ensured safety was a top priority the entire time. We went with two adults and children aged 7 and 9. The hike was not very difficult, but you do need to be able to walk over rocks and small ladders, and pull yourself using a rope against the current. Rodrigo did a great job of going at a leisurely pace so that we could stop and enjoy the surroundings; we never felt rushed. He was so great with our kids and answered all their curios questions. Along the hike, he talked to us about different plants, insects, animals and fauna, as well as the history of the indigenous people original to Costa Rica. We crossed the river a couple of times, he took us into a side cave, and we also had the opportunity to jump from the rocks. During the tubing experience, we floated down the river and had a few exhilarating rapids. Again, safety was always a priority. We saw whitefaced capuchin monkeys, iguanas, many different birds including a long tailed manakin, a mottled owl, snakes, and several bats. Thank you for an amazing day, Rodrigo and Curubada!
