How frustrating is that
Definitely there shouldn’t be communication gap with clients
It's a very DISAPPOINTING experience with the attorney Eric Prusan and this firm. I would NOT recommend them based on what my family experienced.
One of the the biggest problems was communication. Questions were often ignored even after multiple follow-ups. Our fmaily repeatedly asked for legal calls to be scheduled, but they were often not scheduled. My family member was incarcerated, so having reliable communication with his attorney was extremely important.
We also made numerous complaints to the attorney’s boss/supervisor Russ about these issues. Unfortunately, Russ was essentially silent throughout the case. Despite all of our complaints and requests for help, we did not receive any assistance from firm leadership. The main time we heard from Russ was when additional money was being requested.
We needed the attorney’s help to obtain copies of the grievance records. Despite repeated requests over approximately 17 months, this issue was never resolved and remains unresolved to this day.
We were told that an additional $10,000 would be required simply to file an emergency motion concerning my family member’s medical care while he was incarcerated, or alternatively to file a motion concerning his legal name. We found this extremely concerning, especially because these were important issues involving a person in custody. We had already paid an additional $10,000 in legal fees on top of the amount required under the original retainer. Being asked for yet another $10,000 simply to file a motion was unreasonable and extremely frustrating.
My family repeatedly told the attorney that we believed some of the evidence used by the government had been obtained illegally and should not have been presented to the court. We repeatedly asked the attorney to address this issue, but this request was completely ignored.
The Presentence Report (PSR) was not thoroughly discussed with my family member by the applicable deadline. He repeatedly told us that he did not have a meaningful opportunity to review and discuss the PSR before sentencing.
Court documents contained numerous factual errors. We repeatedly pointed out the mistakes and asked for them to be corrected, but Eric simply ignored our requests and the errors were not corrected at all.
There were repeated problems with COURT DEADLINES being missed:
- The transcript request for the appeal was not properly submitted. After we learned there was a problem, we repeatedly asked Eric to correct and resubmit it, but he refused. This contributed to missed deadlines and created additional problems for the appeal.
- Eric also failed to properly submit his motion to withdraw. He missed the court’s deadline to resubmit it, and the motion was eventually submitted about a month after the deadline, only after multiple requests from us.
The sentencing hearing was also extremely disappointing. Eric appeared to agree with almost everything the prosecutors said, including statements that we knew to be factually incorrect. We expected him to actively advocate for his client and challenge inaccurate statements when appropriate.
One example was the government's argument that my family member's medical condition should not be given consideration at sentencing because he was receiving adequate medical care in custody. Eric was already aware of the repeated complaints about his lack of adequate medical care while in custody, yet he did not or did very little to challenge that argument or explain the actual medical situation to the Court.
Overall, our experience was extremely frustrating. We repeatedly tried to communicate withEric and his firm to address serious issues, but many concerns were ignored or left unresolved. When someone is incarcerated and depending on their attorney to protect their rights, communication, preparation, accuracy, and advocacy matter enormously.
The level of communication, follow-through, and advocacy was far below what people expect from counsel handling such a serious case.
They demonstrate exceptional efficiency in
securing results and maintain clear, communicative, and understanding practices to ensure the best possible fair outcome. Russ Kofman and Eric are highly knowledgeable and persistent in their handling of my case, consistently showcasing a wonderful ability to work collaboratively as a team. Having navigated multiple different matters with them, I am immensely pleased they were on my side of the table when fighting for an effective, fair trial. I would wholeheartedly recommend this firm to anyone and would undoubtedly retain their services again in the future. Furthermore, their initial consultation is complimentary, allowing clients to determine if they have a

If you health, time and peace has value for you don’t make my mistake. Most their review are fake and…As I told in my last review about poor services by them and overcharges! They even can’t hold promises. Lady promised to send me check 5!!! Days ago. It’s not here and she again made promises about next week. I believe it will be month or couple months, like it was with settlement and extra charges
