Needed to cancel our reservation .90 days ahead and they would not give back our earnest money deposit.

Hi Sandy, we completely understand how frustrating it can be to lose a deposit.
After looking into this, we found that the reservation you are referring to was over seven years ago. Additionally, the cancellation was made 33 days prior to arrival—not 90, as mentioned.
Our cancellation policy is clearly outlined in the signed rental agreement, and it’s also available for review anytime at:

For reference, our current policy provides a full refund for any reservation canceled at least 60 days before arrival—no questions asked.

We stayed at this beautiful three bedroom villa. Less than five minute walk to the beach. Modern updated kitchen. Layout of the villa was wonderful with great view of the ocean.
The villa was spotless and well stocked with the necessary supplies. The kitchen had everything we needed.
Recommend highly and expect to stay there again.

The Penthouse is made for Kings and Queens, and that is why we ALWAYS stay in Kiawah at the Kiawah Island Getaways Penthouse...its simply an incredible place to relax and enjoy the unbelievable VIEWS of the Ocean. Jeanette and Shawn TRULY care for your comfort. This was our 6th visit and there will be MORE!

OK - so you two have evidently watched the Penthouse as it has blossomed through the years. You both have stayed a record-breaking 9 times! Oct '9, Nov '11, Nov '12, Nov '13, Feb '15, Jan '17, Jan '19, March '24, and March '25...wow! How fun is that!!!? And what's even better? You both are EXCELLENT guests!! Thank you for being true and wonderful guests.

The Vista is cozy, beautiful and well-appointed. We love being surrounded by books and artifacts from your travels. Your notebook was helpful. This visit we went to the CSS Hunley museum because we think we are related to a sailor on the USS Housatonic who was captured after it was rammed by the sub. This visit we made good use of The Nest Marketplace dinners to go.
We plan to stay with you once a year going forward. Best wishes for the holidays!

Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review, Melissa and Brian! Shawn and I were recently in the Hunley area and thought of you. Unfortunately they only open the lab for weekend tours and we were in the area to have lunch at CodFather - a proper local fish spot (OMG - delicious!) and to walk the new Riverview park. There is sooo much to explore in the area and even though we live here, we have a lot to see and do. We look forward to hosting you both again and again!!!

Beautiful beach villa with all the amenities you could need. Close walk to ocean and short drive to shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!

If you’ve ever had a bad experience with vacation rentals, or if you’ve never experienced vacation rentals, this is the company for you! I’ve stayed with KIG several times over the past few years. Each time I’ve rented a different place and each place has been absolutely luxurious. The properties that Kiawah Island Getaways offer are vetted (take a close look at the website as it describes their processes). The properties are all close to, or on the beach. They are high end, extremely clean, and the the beds and other furnishings feel as comfortable as home - right down to the kitchenware! They also expect their renters to care for the properties and have respect for the island - which further enhances the experience. Kiawah Island Getaways is a truly wonderful family owned business. The quality of the rental experience can make or break a whole vacation, so don’t settle for less when you book. If you’re thinking about a “getaway” to Kiawah, look no further and truly enjoy the island life experience. My wife and I will be coming back again, and again to our home away from home!

We have stayed with Kiawah Island Getaways multiple times, and the experience never fails to be exquisite! The Vista was no exception. The decor is on point and the amenities meet every need you could imagine to make it feel like home away from home. From ample counter space in the bathroom to an electric tea kettle to the perfectly plump pillows, they thought of every detail to make us more than comfortable. On top of all that, Jeanette left us some beautiful birthday/anniversary flowers and yummy deviled eggs as a thoughtful welcome. The ocean views from the Vista are stunning, while the deck offers the perfect spot for a glorious sunrise breakfast or romantic pre-dinner cocktail. Thanks again for an amazing vacation on Kiawah!

Beautiful home, can't not thank you enough for letting us use the Penthouse to celebrate my birthday. It was truly an amazing time. Great location, wonderful accommodations. They had everything we could have ever needed!

The Breeze at Seascape is Absolutely Fantastic! We enjoyed the most wonderful week. The villa is decorated to perfection and is immaculately clean. The beds are beyond the most comfortable that we have ever slept in. The kitchen is a gourmet chef's dream. Our granddaughter enjoyed the play loft and loved all the toys! This our second year renting from Shawn and Jeanette, they are outstanding hosts. Easy communication, check-in and check-out are so convenient, and they have given attention to every detail you may want or need. You truly feel like you are staying at a luxury home that is well kept and loved. We look forward to returning as often as possible. Thanks so much for making our family vacation a delight!
