Excellent introduction to Rapa Nui
I booked a full-day tour with Kava Tours, combined with the Tongariki sunrise. I was picked up at 6:00 AM by Toto, the driver and guide for that day. I had an amazing day! Toto shared a lot of knowledge about the history of the Moai, the Island, and the Birdman culture. It was an excellent introduction to Rapa Nui and its beauty. Thank you, Toto and Kava Tours! It was a long and intensive day, but it was certainly worth it.
Wonderful Tour
Sunrise in Tongariki was unique and breathtaking. We were lucky to have a clear sky to enjoy the spectacular moment. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained us everything from the history of Rapa Nui to the evolution of Moai. It was a perfect experience.

The host spoke both English and Spanish. Transport was fast and efficient. The dancers performed for a long time. I felt this was well worth the money and was a very memorable experience.

Rapa Nui cave tour was incredible!
I have dreamed of visiting Rapa Nui for over 35 years and I am so glad I chose Kava Kava Tours. Their communication was excellent and we were paired with an incredibly knowledgeable, fun and incredible guide, Tokerau! Tokerau is a Rapa Nui native and therefore has first hand knowledge of all aspects of Rapa Nui culture and history. The cave tour was so fascinating and we learned so much. Tokerau knew exactly when to ask for our phones to take the perfect photos for us. If you have the opportunity to tour with Tokerau you will not be disappointed. I would give him ten stars if I could! He is a true professional and a genuinely great person. We will never forget our experience with him. We took the tour in Spanish but he also offers tours in English.

Tokerau saved the day
I booked two tours with Kava Kava on my long anticipated visit and the second tour was the private all day north coast trekking. Communication from Kava Kava was excellent for both tours. We were paired with the most amazing guide, Tokerau for both tours. On the morning of the second tour I came down with a sore throat and ultimately decided I wasn’t feeling well enough for an all day trek. Instead of cancelling completely, Tokerau created a custom low activity tour for us that turned out incredible! He picked us up in the afternoon and we visited some lesser known sites where we got some great photos. The highlight of the tour was that Tokerau brought us a delicious lunch of grilled chicken sandwiches with caramelized onions made by his girlfriend, and we sat on a hill in a forested area and watched the sun set over the ocean while Tokerau played his guitar and sang us three songs in the native Rapa Nui language. Tokerau really went above and beyond to make sure I had a meaningful day even though I was not feeling well enough to do the full north coast trek. Tokerau is a truly professional guide and a wonderful person. We will never forget him. We took the tour in Spanish but he also offers tours in English.
I had a great private tour with Soledad (Sol) back in February 2025 who is an excellent Tour Guide and amazing Rapa Nui woman to hang out with and learn about the fascinating, rich history and culture of the great place that Rapa Nui is. Kava Kava provided an excellent program for two half days and three full days … my guide, Josefina was amazing, absolutely the best. She did all the driving and was so knowledgeable … I learned a tremendous amount about the island. Our boat trip was canceled but I was compensated with a dinner/show which was outstanding. I can’t speak highly enough about the island, friendliness of the people, the amount of interesting sites to see and Kava Kava Tours/Josefina. Alejandra had been responsive to all my inquiries so I came to the island very comfortable with what to expect.

Very much impressed to be guided history, culture and various statues. We are more than happy since It was possible to visit all points we had thought. Thaias, our guide was excellent.
Great dance show
It was great dance show, really enjoy watching. On arrival, we get to have face paint and also get to choose head decoration if you want. Offered welcome drink. Dinner part was ok. The end of show, we were able to take pictures with dancers. That was nice.
Sunsets to sunrise to sunsets again with Isa!
Isa was our guide and she was really great. Tons of knowledge and keep a very good schedule. We saw and learned so much during the 3 days together. She's also kind and funny. This type of tour really covered the basics and more.

Contraté un tour privado (para mi sólo) con ellos después de leer buenas críticas (salen mencionados en Lonely Planet).
No olvidar que para acceder al Parque Nacional se debe tener guía o anfitrión. La entrada del Parque se paga a parte, 80 USD al momento de la visita.
Contacto por email rápido, buena comunicación, pequeño descuento en precio final. El planning que ofrecen incluye la mayoría de sitios de interés para una visita corta como la mia (3 dias).
Pago más de 1000 USD convencido, pues es un lugar que se visita ‘Once a life’ si se puede; acepto lo caro del destino dada su particularidad (remoto, especial y en el que el turismo es la fuente principal de trabajo).
La experiencia: Tour y guia correctos pero sin ningún valor añadido por el precio pagado (Recordad que era un tour privado para mi sólo).
A mejorar:
- Se cumplió el plan a prisa y sin demasiado detalle. Un dia completo se transformo en medio dia.
- No se contemplaron horas de menos afluencia de turistas o mejores horarios de luz para tomar fotos. El plan se debía cumplir segun lo estipulado. Poca flexibilidad y tiempos muy medidos.
- Precio excesivo. Incluyen una sola comida de los 2 dias completos en un lugar correcto . Recordar que NO incluyen entrada al Parque Nacional NI tampoco traslados a/des del aeropuerto. NO facilitan mapa ni hay ‘souvenir’ de la compañía. Si facilitan una botella de agua diaria.
- IMPORTANTE: 2 de los highlights imperdibles de la Isla (Ranu Raraku y la aldea ceremonial de Orongo) sólo se pueden visitar 1 vez. El resto más veces, la entrada vale para 10 dias des de que se visita el primer sitio arqueológico.
EXIGID VUESTRO TIEMPO AQUÍ SI ES UN TOUR PRIVADO, PUES SON MAGNÍFICOS.
La guía me lo explicó en Rano Raraku, donde teniamos la comida, lo que condicionó la visita.
Yo lo forzé en Orongo al quedarme más tiempo en la pequeña pero muy interesante exposición de la entrada, donde mi guia pasó sin más a la entrada y la salida.
En fin, correcto sin más, lo que para un lugar y precio así es poco.
Si viajas sólo o en pareja, no lo recomiendo (En Hanga Roa hay facilidad para alquilar transporte y encontrar guía a precio más competitivo)
Si viajas en un grupo a partir de 4-5 personas es donde el precio puede volverse interesante.
Si tuviera la oportunidad de volver no repetiría con ellos.

Es importante considerar que el Parque Nacional opera con horarios de apertura y cierre establecidos, lo que significa que nuestros circuitos deben ajustarse a esos tiempos. No obstante, siempre brindamos flexibilidad para que nuestros pasajeros puedan tomarse su tiempo para fotografías y realizar todas las preguntas que deseen. Recordar también que al momento de comprar el ticket del Parque Nacional se especifican y aceptan las normativas y reglamentaciones vigentes de visitación.
En cuanto a la menor afluencia de turistas y los mejores horarios para la fotografía, nuestros tours comienzan a las 9:00 a.m., lo que permite visitar los sitios antes de la llegada de grupos más grandes, cuyos recorridos suelen iniciar entre las 9:30 y las 10:30 a.m. Sin embargo, es importante mencionar que la temporada alta se extiende hasta mediados de marzo, por lo que la afluencia de visitantes en estas fechas es naturalmente mayor.
Nos esforzamos en brindar un servicio diferenciado, cuidando cada detalle para que nuestros visitantes disfruten plenamente de su experiencia en Rapa Nui. Además, buscamos generar un ambiente cercano y de confianza, donde nuestros visitantes se sientan cómodos durante su estadía, creando incluso lazos de amistad.

magical place
The place is amazing it is worth a lot to do the tour of the island with a guide to know well the origin and customs after it is easy to walk again and be a little longer in some places I recommend the place to rest there is no good internet sign or television a getaway from the world, the perfect weather, some rain that lasts a few minutes just enough to cool down, enjoy the fresh tuna every day is amazing, the very attentive locals

Conducted in March 2025.I hired a private tour (for myself only) with them after reading good reviews (they are mentioned in Lonely Planet).Do not forget that to access the National Park you must have a guide or host. Park entrance fee is payable in part, 80 USD at the time of the visit. Fast email contact, good communication, small discount on final price. The explanations in the guides are great for understanding all the history of the island and the Moais. Visit and photograph the best places on the island. Fully recommended.
A well rounded look at Rapa Nui
My husband and I recently did a Private Tour with RaPaNui guide Toki, booked thru KavaKava tours. The tour exceeded our expectations. Toki was friendly, spoke excellent English, was punctual and efficient and very well informed on all matters historical and current. He was flexible, as he had to work around the schedule of a movie set. We were pleased that we had booked the same guide for our entire trip as our rapport with Toki became relaxed and casual. He displayed a love for his culture and is a credit to them. We can highly recommend KavaKava Tours and in particular, guide Tokerau Hey.
Nice sunrise, terrible driver
Our tour was canceled because Ahu Tongariki was closed. The travel agency offered to have the tour a day earlier for us. We understood it was the last-minute arrangement, and the guide spoke very little English. What bothered us was we were picked up by a picked up truck, and the guide or more accurately, the driver was very unprofessional. He brought a huge boom box with him, which my husband had to hold on his lap the whole trip as there was no room for it. He kept using his cell phone to select songs from the boom box while driving in the pretty tricky road full of potholes. On our way back, my husband had to hold his boom box and his backpack! He also sang while he was driving. He was the worst tour driver I had ever seen.
