Wonderful lunch and great service
The lunch we had today was absolutely lovely! The food was perfectly prepared and incredibly delicious, and the service from the staff was outstanding. It was such an enjoyable experience dining with friends, and I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

I have had two great experiences at Kaiser but the last left a bitter taste.
I have only ever booked for the long lunch and the first two booking were both the last available session and seated outside. They were both very pleasant experiences with extremely attentive and enthusiastic staff. However the last book could not have been more different. Extremely slow refill service and inattentive staff. With refills having to be requested rather than automatic. When we requested the last refill 15 minutes before the end of our booking we were refused citing the end of our booking time. The free flowing Prosecco was advertised for two hours and yet it was not honoured because they had back to back bookings. I would not be disappointed about this experience if it was not for to continuously changed reasoning behind the refusal (first our time ran out, then we had time but they could only accommodate half a glass each and the final excuse we were too intoxicated - despite being previously offered half a glass). To be clear we arrived to a dirty table and had to request every drink.The whole experience felt so rushed in comparison to previous experiences!
I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing.
A group of friends and I booked a long lunch to celebrate a birthday. Throughout the booking, service was slow, and when we requested what would have been our final drink, we were refused service despite there still being 15 minutes remaining in our allocated two-hour session.
What was particularly frustrating was the changing explanation. First, we were told our booking had ended. When it was pointed out that it had not, we were told we could only have half a glass. Then, after staff appeared to realize another booking was due to arrive shortly, the reason changed again and we were told we were "too drunk" to be served.
If intoxication had genuinely been the concern, it would have been understandable. However, this explanation is difficult to reconcile with the fact that staff had already been prepared to serve us another drink moments earlier. It felt as though the reason for refusal changed to justify ending our booking early and preparing the table for the next group.
Long lunch is advertised as service for the full booking period, provided guests are behaving appropriately. Instead, we were denied service before our session ended and then made to feel at fault for it.
Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, poorly handled, and left a sour end to what was supposed to be a birthday celebration.
One final point: if staff genuinely believed we was too intoxicated to be served, then that is of course their legal responsibility. However, I find that claim difficult to accept given that I was clear-headed enough to leave, travel home safely, and write this review immediately afterwards. The timing and changing explanations make it seem far more likely that the decision was driven by the upcoming booking than by any genuine concern about intoxication.
We moved over to Delilah’s and have had wonderful end to our afternoon.
Friendly service and super yummy food. Our picks were the pulled pork pizza, fried cauliflower and calamari. Also had two mocktails which were very tasty.

Went here Friday night with a couple mates. Place has a great atmosphere and lovely staff. The food was top tier (the Kumara fries 😏) would absolutely come back here.

This is the most delicious restaurant I have ever eaten in Christchurch. I think they are particularly good at mixing sauces, and the taste is just right. I was amazed by the first bite, especially for Chinese stomachs. I highly recommend it.

Love this place - the food, the cocktails, the service, the atmosphere - all 10/10. On our last visit, we spent hours relaxing on the balcony being attended to with multiple cocktail and snack orders by our lovely waiter who was very attentive to each and every table even with the place being full, cannot fault.
