The guys from Joe's Moving Company, Alberto and Breyden were very friendly and professional they came to work! They pickup a barbecue grill, a very large dresser with a mirror, a tall table with 3 stools and some lawn furniture to be delivered to a second location. At the second location they picked up an Elliptical machine, a large couch, a loveseat and 2 reclining chairs. In the bedroom was a mattress with a box spring, a bed frame and 2 dressers that had to be taken back to the first location and unloaded. They managed to get this accomplished in just under 4 hours, very impressive. Thank you for doing such a good job!
Alberto and Breyden from Joe's moving company were very professional and very polite and they came to work! My move was so great, I'm terrible at remembering names, but the two movers who worked my move were wonderful. We beat the estimated time by almost an hour. Super friendly, very careful with my things - the only thing that broke was something I dropped the next day, haha. Would recommend to anyone moving in Rochester!
My experience with Joe’s Moving Co. was extremely disappointing from start to finish, and I want to share it so others can make an informed decision.
Before scheduling the move, I spoke several times with the company’s representative. He spoke very confidently about their service and customer satisfaction, which gave me enough reassurance to book the move.
On moving day, the crew arrived about 45 minutes late, and the quality of the move declined from there. While moving a new stainless steel refrigerator, it was damaged significantly on the side. I was told they didn’t have the proper equipment for it and that their insurance would not cover that type of damage, even though I had been told beforehand that they were fully licensed and insured.
The crew took multiple breaks throughout the job, and some of the workers returned from lunch smelling strongly of smoke, which did not feel professional. Several walls in both homes were gouged, and a hardwood kitchen table that has been in my family for years was scratched enough that it now needs to be refinished.
At the end of the move, the full time—including all break time—was included on the bill. At that point, I paid it simply because I wanted the job to be over.
In the weeks following the move, we discovered that several boxes we had packed ourselves were opened and disturbed. These boxes were clearly labeled “Master Bedroom” and “Fragile.” After unpacking, we realized that some personal items were missing, including sentimental pieces. I reported the missing items to the authorities but because the unpacking occurred weeks later, I was told it might be difficult to determine exactly what happened.
Since the move, I have made multiple attempts to contact the company, but none of my calls or emails have been returned.
I’m sharing this experience to help others avoid going through the same issues we encountered. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I used this company twice. The first experience was in 2022 and was amazing. Two young guys who were super fast but also extremely careful and it was a difficult apartment to remove a couch from. It was so good I decided to use them less than a year later in 2023 for moving into my house. Spent well over a grand and had a terrible experience. It was different guys, Scott and two others. They were not careful with my stuff, were super slow and argumentative when I disagreed with how far Rochester was from my new home. They refused to remove my couch without taking it apart despite me saying I didn’t think it was supposed to come apart. They did anyway and now two years later what was not even a year old couch (so barely three years now) is falling apart and I had to get a new one. They cut the fabric stapled to the bottom in order to take it apart and did a horrible job putting it back. The couch has been a pain ever since and not comfortable. But due to how short a time I had it I kept trying to push through and use it longer. They also took forever to get to my house, over two hours. I left after them, went to downtown Rochester to stop by work and then drove to Auburn, NY and beat them there. They tried to tell me it was over a two hour drive. It’s just over an hour. Basically just trying to charge me more. Also begged me pay some in cash without this being part of anything in the contract I signed. I did it but regret it now as I deal with this couch issue 2 years later. The people who helped arranged the move were great but that was the only good part of this second experience with the company. Due to this I wouldn’t use again or recommend.

I am in disbelief as to how Joe’s Moving Co. in Rochester, NY is still in business. Their movers put on a show of kindness, but it was very misleading. So many of our cherished, irreplaceable items were nowhere to be found when we unpacked from our move with Joe’s. Even some of our electronics are now missing. Our items were loaded in their truck but never made it to our new home. Their management was not responsive to any correspondence after the move was completed . We purchased insurance and compensation for our “lost” items is all we were asking for. These movers can’t be trusted in your home.

Today was my 4th time using Joe’s Moving Co. They are reliable, prompt and hard working. The crew today was Jay + Dee (I think)…despite a hang up on my end, they were patient and got the job done! 10/10 on service and delivery!!
