I’ve now attended Lemur Link Ups twice and honestly think it’s an excellent resource for women in business. The atmosphere is genuinely supportive and welcoming, there’s a huge amount of experience in the room, and I found it to be far more than just surface-level networking.
What I particularly love is that people genuinely engage with and support one another beyond the event itself, through follows, shares, comments and encouragement on social media. It feels like networking in the true sense of the word.
The events are monthly and include a speaker element too. At the last one, Joanne Dewberry (co founder) gave a talk on content pillars in marketing, a phrase many of us have heard before, and she explained it in such an easy to understand and practical way. She’s exceptional at remembering who people are and what their businesses do, and used real examples from the room to show how different types of content could work for each business. I came away having learned something useful, with actionable ideas to implement myself.
There’s plenty of time and space to properly connect and talk with people, rather than feeling rushed. The two hours spent there felt like time very well spent.
It’s very good value as the event itself is free. You simply buy a coffee in the shared space, (which feels more than fair) before going to a private room for the meeting. We were even given handouts to take away.
I’ve also attended one of Joanne’s paid co-working/accountability sessions previously, and again found her to be a wealth of knowledge and information, very generously shared.
Highly recommend to any women in business looking for genuine connection, support and learning.
