I called this plumbing company to look at a loose toilet flange and was told there was a $50 dispatch fee, after which I would be given a price based on their assessment. The plumber spent about 45–50 minutes on site, said the issue was resolved, and told me the office would send the bill.
Later, I was emailed an invoice for $670, a price that was never discussed or approved upfront. Based on commonly available pricing (including Google), this type of repair typically costs $300–$350 (Parts+Labor)
When I called to question the charge, I was told this was their flat rate and was essentially told “it is what it is.” This was never disclosed beforehand and felt dismissive, misleading, and unprofessional. Customers should be informed of pricing before work is performed, not after.
First and last time doing business with this company. I would not recommend them.
This was the first time I used Jim Dorsey & Sons services. I put in a no heat call. The service technician was very knowledgeable, pleasant to talk to and explained everything to me. I signed up for their service contract as I definitely want to use them again. Very satisfied customer.

Joe Curly & the other gentlemen was very knowledgeable. They explained to me what had to be done & completed the job with no issues. My faucet outside was leaking, enough though it was off. Joe had to replace the pipe going inside the house. I'm very thankful I'm so happy I called Jim Dorsey

Joe and his helper was very knowledgeable and professional. They assessed the issue and fixed the issue. We discussed replacing a main shutoffs to my unit in the future.
