The James Place Inn covers all the bases. Bill and Mary Ann are wonderful, welcoming hosts. The breakfasts were amazing and used locally sourced ingredients. Our Green Room was clean, cozy, and comfortable with a nice view. The garden is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the day. The location is a short walking distance to everything in Freeport center while being just far enough off the main street to be quiet and peaceful. When we return to Freeport, we will be at the James Place Inn.

Maryann and Bill are such lovely hosts and truly hospitable. My husband and I wanted to get away for a long weekend in Portland/Freeport area. We found this inn and are so glad that we did! Perfect rooms, exactly as pictured and very clean. We stayed in the Green room which had a hot tub in it. Everything worked perfectly and was perfectly cozy. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and we appreciated that they even had a charging port for my husband's car! The inn is in the perfect location: quiet side street but it's a very quick walk to Rt 1 and you're right in the middle of shops and restaurants. We walked around the town and then took day trips to see Portland Head Light and Wolfe's Neck/Casco Bay. Such a great trip!

Great rental! Clean and fragrance free. We stayed in the Green room and it was perfect. The jacuzzi is amazing. The room is clean and they don't have any heavy fragrances like you find in some rentals. We will certainly stay again.

We had a lovely time at this inn and the owners are such fun and pleasant folks to chat with! The walking distance to shops and restaurants is unbeatable and the street is still very quiet at night. The mattress was so comfy and Maine made, and we enjoyed a hot soak in the Jacuzzi tub. Highly recommend!

This was such an amazing place! My husband and I had a little spur of the moment night away. I rented this place as a romantic getaway with a jacuzzi in the room. It was absolutely amazing. Our host Bill was there to welcome us and show us to our room. He made us an amazing breakfast spread of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, blueberry pancakes, and chocolate with cherry muffins. The room was cozy, the linens all fresh and clean, the bed was super comfortable. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for hosting us, we look forward to visits again soon!!

Best spur of the moment romantic weekend getaway This was such an amazing bed and breakfast. The host was so very accommodating our last minute spur of the moment trip. My husband and I rented the room with the Jacuzzi in it for a little romantic getaway, to soak and relax. It was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was phenomenal. A full spread of blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, muffins, coffee, and juice. Absolutely perfect for a getaway and so very much exactly what we needed to refresh and refuel ourselves.

This was our 6th time staying at James Place Inn and it has been wonderful each time. The breakfast is always great (fresh made scones are a highlight!), room is always clean, and walking convenience to downtown cannot be beat, while still being on a quiet side road. They have always been accommodating to our children who were only 2 and 4 during our first stay several years ago. I can't imagine going anywhere else in Freeport!
