The Innkeepers are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Can't recommend James Place Inn enough!!!

We stayed in the Green room and it was perfect. The jacuzzi is amazing. The room is clean and they don't have any heavy fragrances like you find in some rentals. We will certainly stay again.

We had a lovely time at this inn and the owners are such fun and pleasant folks to chat with! The walking distance to shops and restaurants is unbeatable and the street is still very quiet at night. The mattress was so comfy and Maine made, and we enjoyed a hot soak in the Jacuzzi tub. Highly recommend!

This was such an amazing place! My husband and I had a little spur of the moment night away. I rented this place as a romantic getaway with a jacuzzi in the room. It was absolutely amazing. Our host Bill was there to welcome us and show us to our room. He made us an amazing breakfast spread of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, blueberry pancakes, and chocolate with cherry muffins. The room was cozy, the linens all fresh and clean, the bed was super comfortable. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for hosting us, we look forward to visits again soon!!

Best spur of the moment romantic weekend getaway
This was such an amazing bed and breakfast. The host was so very accommodating our last minute spur of the moment trip. My husband and I rented the room with the Jacuzzi in it for a little romantic getaway, to soak and relax. It was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was phenomenal. A full spread of blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, muffins, coffee, and juice. Absolutely perfect for a getaway and so very much exactly what we needed to refresh and refuel ourselves.

This was our 6th time staying at James Place Inn and it has been wonderful each time. The breakfast is always great (fresh made scones are a highlight!), room is always clean, and walking convenience to downtown cannot be beat, while still being on a quiet side road. They have always been accommodating to our children who were only 2 and 4 during our first stay several years ago. I can't imagine going anywhere else in Freeport!

This is my third visit to James Place Inn. Beautiful accommodations, wonderful hosts, and one of the best breakfasts you'll have anywhere. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and of course LL Bean!!

We returned to The James Place for the first time in many years, and it was very memorable. Bill and Mary Ann Hinko are model innkeepers. The room was excellent. The daily breakfasts were delicious, including homemade granola, scones and special house coffee. We strongly recommend The James Place!

The Inn is lovely. Its small, with a friendly host and hostess, on a quiet side street and yet right in the heart of Freeport with its wonderful shopping and excellent selection of restaurants. All a very short walk away from the James Place Inn. No problem parking right near the entrance door. My room was on the first floor which was perfect for me! Right near the dining room so that I could go and make myself my first cup of tea and take it right back to my room and relax. Breakfast was delicious especially the amazing blueberry pancakes! My hosts would make a special treat for the day .Pumpkin scones with chocolate chips; next day, a large, moist and delicious gingery muffin. Both of these special treats were offered with a to-go bag so you could take it on your way. I found that to be extremely thoughtful. I liked this Inn so much I am already booking a return.

We were gifted a stay at The James Place Inn as a wedding present, and it could not have been more perfect. We stayed in the Green Room, which has its own hot tub, and absolutely loved it. The accommodations were cozy, comfortable, and felt like home.
Bill and MaryAnn, the owners, are truly wonderful people. MaryAnn is such a gracious host, and Bill is an exceptional cook and prepared us breakfast every morning and even took care to meet all of our dietary needs.
James Place Inn is also in a fantastic location, just a short walk to Main Street in Freeport with tons of outlets and the biggest L.L.Bean I’ve ever seen. We tried Linda Bean’s restaurant nearby; I highly recommend the blueberry BBQ wings and the lobster rangoon dip! Plus, Portland is only about a 20-minute drive away, so we caught a Sea Dogs game and enjoyed lobster rolls and tacos at The Porthole.
This stay was truly memorable, and I already know I’ll be coming back again and again. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Charm, Convenience and Kind Innkeepers Make the James Place Inn a Perfect Choice for Freeport Visitors
We enjoyed a thoroughly delightful long weekend at the James Place Inn during Freeport Fall Festival weekend. With Main Street just steps from the Inn, it was so convenient to explore the town, shops and festivals. Our 2nd floor room was quiet, cozy and clean, with comfortable beds. Common areas are equally cozy, with a sunny breakfast room and outdoor area if the weather is warm enough to enjoy the lovely breakfast selections al fresco. Innkeeper Bill does the cooking and we loved his daily selections, from blueberry waffles and maple sausage to a yummy brussels sprout potato hash. Fresh fruit and just-baked scones were also included each day. Bill and Mary Ann Hinko are kind and attentive hosts who even volunteered to provide transportation if needed. The outdoor fire pit was a great spot to share a bottle of wine in the evening. Highly recommend and would visit again!
