I have worked with J2 for the last 3 and a half years and cannot emphasize enough how great they all are. The level of knowledge they bring to the table and that I have learned is beyond what I had ever hoped for. Everything from structural issues I needed engineering for, specifically my Easton Ridge drip edge failure I ran into, to simply new techniques on roofing installation, Dimitry Leznik has always gone above and beyond assisting me. I highly recommend J2 and Dimitry as a building consultant!

Our Association worked with J-2 to assess and prescribe a plan to remediate water intrusion and several other structural issues with our 60 year old condo complex. J-2 helped us find a solution for replacing the complete building envelope, plumbing drain lines, water heaters and fire alarm system while navigating issues such as asbestos and lead paint. We were able to keep occupants in place for all but a night or two during the 2 year project. We did not suffer one day of downtime throughout the project despite inclement weather events, on and off tariff situations which produced uncertainties in material costs and deliveries, and several unexpected issues with beams and framing. The city inspectors were strict but we passed all inspections as planned. We could not have completed this project without the guidance of Walter and his team. They were knowledgable, helpful and always available to discuss our questions and ideas. With so much demolition and new construction in our area we are thankful that we could keep and upgrade our older building. It looks beautiful, is structurally sound and even has improved ventilation and air quality.

J2 started this reclad project with our Condos almost two years ago, planning, consulting, start up, construction and finish. They are the best example of professional service and integrity I have witnessed in the construction industry. If I could give them a 10, I would. Throughout the process they have very hands on with great attention to detail and always addressing tenant concerns with the highest level of courtesy and respect, with the intention of satisfying individual concerns with the stated project plan in mind. Jim, Thomas and Jason are the Project Managers we worked with and you could not find a better example of professional personal service. You can't go wrong with these guys and J2. When can we take you for Pizza!

I am watching the Building Doctor”, an option available through the J2 Building Consultants’ website. Astonishing how much I’m learning! Each session is done by a specific repair specialist that works for J2, so there are plumbers, designers, and attic specialists. Wow! This is an amazing resource for condo boards or even individual condo owners. The sessions are presented live, are approximately 45 minutes long with a Q & A at the end. It is a zoom call based program, which features a PowerPoint presentation of the subject, so it’s easy to copy the screen and have the resource available for you later or for other people. I highly recommend this resource as well as J2 Building Consultants.

I was the HOA Resident Liaison between J2 and the selected contractor for the complete repiping project of one of the four buildings in our Condominium complex. J2 oversaw the installation of a new building waterline, the complete repiping and restoration of 21 units in a building constructed in 1962. The 21residents chose stay in their units during the project. The J2 representatives (Jerod Trenchard and Nick Lauderback) were VERY professional and focused on minimizing the impact on the residents. They both were very supportive of the role I had between the residents, the day to day contractor and my HOA board. They also supported my Association when we discovered that an underground spring/stream had changed direction and started flowing into the lower walkways of another building on the property. J2 coordinated working with a different contractor to implement a solution to route that water into our onsite drainage system. I’ve worked with several different contractors on many different projects on our project and I thoroughly enjoyed working with J2

The HOA board for the complex I live in has J2 Building Consultants helping them with various projects at our condominium complex. I don’t know much about construction, but when I have come outside to talk to my husband who is on the board, I have seen him talking to one of J2’s Engineers, Stephen Ting. My husband introduced me to him and I overheard him discussing a situation with a walkway rebuild and all I can say is that he is very knowledgeable. Then recently I asked my husband what the status was on the project that is currently in process, and he said told me, “it’s a bit complicated honey” But then said, “luckily this engineer from J2 is helping me though, so I am less stressed about a speed bump we ran into with the rebuild” So from my point of view, J2 Consultants is helping my husband and the HOA board manage a construction project at the complex. And thanks to them, things are less stressful. I have seen first hand J2 building consultants as well as their engineer Stephen Ting, help their client feel less stressed with a complicated rebuild. Don’t stress alone, hire J2 to do it with you.

Absolutely wonderful company to work with. Britany was incredibly helpful over email and the phone and even managed to snag us a killer deal by combining two inspections into one. Dimitry performed the site inspection and did a great job of identifying all the problem areas for the complex. It was detailed enough that it felt very overwhelming, but it's so great to be able to have a document service providers can read and see immediately not only what work needs to be done but also the priority ranking. J2 was prompted with their site visit after contracting with them. Email communication was great with Stephen, the engineer we worked with. When He came to our complex, he was attentive to our needs and honest about the condition of the property and what should be prioritized. He went around back of the building and investigated every nook and cranny for the current conditions of the integrity of various support structures. I told J2 and Stephen that our complex is in need of budgeting large repair costs and they accommodated that. Stephen gave me advice on how to prioritize repair projects in light of safety. He also found a structural beam that was deemed unsafe, and before leaving he made sure to caution tape off the areas of concern to protect the residents. This construction consultant doesn't just look out for their interests in light of providing good customer service, but in the clients interests as if they were in the clients shoes themselves. I appreciate Stephen and found his knowledge and expertise in construction and engineering to not only be competent, but even better than a couple of the individuals we went out on bid with out of the group of them. He knows his stuff! Thank You Stephen, your kind, considerate approach to helping me as the Secretary of the HOA find the right approach to our complex repair needs was pleasant and insightful. I help to manage a 8 unit condo building. Jens and the team at J2 helped us with our preliminary and intrusive investigation. They also helped to consult during our insurance claims and helped to result in a sizable insurance settlement. We also had a roofing issue and their expert report helped to result in the roofing company completing all repairs without any litigation needed. The company’s expert opinion and reputation in the building construction industry was pivotal and helped with that project greatly.
