1949년 국공내전 당시, 중국 국민정부가 베이징 자금성의 중요 문화재를 대만으로 옮겼고, 이후 타이베이에 현재의 박물관이 건립되었습니다.

The museum is modern, and the design is well considered. We did the English tour, and it was a lovely overview of the museum. I found the museum itself to be one of the more boring museums I've ever been to. Floor 3 is bronze; floors 1 and 2 are 90% pottery and jade. There is a small room for calligraphy and one for Buddha. I didn't learn much about history overall, and didn't see anything organized to reflect what would have been in specific areas of the Chinese emperor's palaces or Forbidden City. The museum could work on its storytelling or reconsider rebranding as a pottery and ceramics museum to better emphasize what one will see, as it isn't really about the palace. Typically, museums develop immersive or storytelling components to bring history to life; you will not see that here. I think anyone will appreciate the exhibits here for the way everything is beautifully displayed. Still, if you are not a museum enthusiast, this is for sure one to miss due to the lack of interesting items on display.
