I was given Dean’s name when I asked on our town FB page for local woodworkers. Several were given but Innovation Woodworking kept popping up. A trusted friend said I would be happy with Dean and his work. I cannot tell you how happy we are! From our first phone call to the day he delivered our table Dean was professional, honest, kind, and a great listener. Together we came up with the best way for me to have exactly what I wanted. The end product is absolutely beautiful. Dean is a craftsman, a true artist who you can tell loves what he does. Highest marks across the board.

I went to Dean with a picture of a table base I wanted. It was quite complicated. Lots of angles. A math nightmare, but he pulled it off and it is sitting in my dining area as of yesterday. Beautiful work. He took on the project as tho it was his table and going to sit in his house. I would love to add a picture of it but I don’t think I can on this site. Legs are black walnut and the middle which is a hexagon is made from curly maple. The woods are beautiful and complement each other. You prob can visit his Facebook and check it out. It’s a very modern table. Love love love it.

Five stars +++. I hired Dean at Innovation Woodworking to complete cabinets in a custom house in Waynesville my father designed and built. Unfortunately, he passed, prior to completing this final project. The cabinets were a special project, requiring a very special person with the necessary ability and creativity to fulfill my father's vision. After an initial meeting to discuss the project with Dean and Lorelei, it was clear I found the perfect people/business for this challenge! They understood my desire to bring creativity and fun to this special project, and clearly connected with a vision that would make my artisan father proud. I let Dean know at the end of that 1st meeting, he'd need to earn his business name... Innovation Woodworking! While the project presented a number of challenges, Dean was always ready with creative ideas and solutions. He was able to envision and build a number of impressive and creative design elements. These included custom pullout drawers throughout, custom removable silverware and knife drawer inserts, vertical plate and bowl inserts for large drawers, custom glassware inserts for drawers, and a very impressive set of corner drawers with handmade turntables. I'm including just a few pictures to help truly appreciate his work. I highly recommend Dean for any of your Woodworking needs. You will not be disappointed! Thanks Dean!!

Dean went above and beyond to provide a top-quality product for our trail signs using the most durable tree species (ironwood) for outdoor use. When the epoxy (to color the routed letters) we ordered didn't arrive in time, he went and found a replacement locally. When the color of that epoxy didn't give the letters enough of a contrast with the stained wood, he found a color that did. When that process didn't give me enough time to install it myself, he came out and installed it personally. With all of that extra time, effort, and expense he invested, he didn't charge me another dime! From start to finish, he listened to what I wanted, gave me mock-ups and adjusted to my requests on those, and worked with an old-school craftsman's pride. He treated my project like it was his own.

Dean built a custom cabinet for my husband and I. He worked on it diligently to have it ready in an appropriate amount of time even though we were not in a hurry. We have old cabinets that I painted to update them a little, Dean matched what he had so that it didn’t look out of place. I would have been happy with just shelves and a door, but he over delivered and gave us even better! Our cabinet has the most convenient slide outs so that we can see everything we have in them without breaking our necks as it is deep. This cabinet is going to save me so much space and clutter in my kitchen, and I am SO happy about it. On top of the beautiful craftsmanship my favorite thing about this small local business is who the owners are. We love Dean and his wife so much and find them to be some of the most genuine people we know. They both pour so much into the community and the people around them, even when they are hurting they never quit giving and trying to better the lives of others. We hope and pray that they have success in this endeavor, and if you find yourself needing any wood working done or custom made cabinets, furniture, etc, that you will give Innovation woodworking a call! My parents needed a new mantel for their fireplace that required very intricate work. Innovation Woodworking came out to the house, assessed on sight, then gave us some design ideas on the fly. He later helped us pick out the exact type of wood we wanted, ranging from affordable to exotic, then quickly got to work. It wasn't long before my parents' mantel was fully replaced and looking better than it ever could. I commissioned Dean to build a very specific food tray that required very intricate craftmanship. The final product I received from Dean far exceeded my expectations, and the quality was nearly double the food trays' I was looking at for the same price online. In addition, when I visited his shop, I was able to see some of his other work firsthand, such as hand carved bowls, refinished tables, and custom-built cabinets. Everything looked like it belonged in a luxury home. All in all, I will be using Innovation Woodworking for all my future wood working needs.
