PedroG Leads a Fantastic Fun Full Day in Sintra! Pedro G was the BEST tour guide for our group of 3 couples! He was always prompt, anticipated needs (bathroom stops, coffee/pastry break, lunch recommendation, walking pace) and shared his vast and detailed knowledge of the sites, their history and architectural details with humor and comfortable American English fluency. His style encouraged active participation, and he appreciated our questions. At the end of the day, he offered (and we accepted) to make a dinner reservation for us as well! I would highly recommend PedroG for anyone considering this tour!

Amazing tour in an amazing place with an amazing tour guide - Miguel Pires This trip was amazing! Mario Pires our tour guide was very knowledgeable, nice and funny. I went with my 80-year-old dad and Miguel was very understanding of our pace and was very caring. We visited 2 palaces, cascais and went to some beautiful views along the cost. Miguel also recommended some amazing places for food. It was unforgettable. ¡Este viaje fue increíble! Nuestro guía turístico, Mario Pires, era muy conocedor, amable y divertido. Fui con mi padre de 80 años, y Miguel fue muy comprensivo con nuestro ritmo y muy atento con nosotros. Visitamos dos palacios, Cascais, y disfrutamos de algunas vistas hermosas a lo largo de la costa. Miguel tambien recomendo unos sitios excelentes para comer. Fue una experiencia inolvidable.

Perfect Day Trip to Sintra We booked a private day tour to Sintra, which included visits to Pena Palace, The Regaleira, Cabo do Roca, and the Boca do Inferno. Our guide, Miguel, arrived to pick us up on time and off we went to begin the day's adventure. As I had booked a tour on a previous visit, we chatted about that tour as you would "pick up where you left off" with an old friend. Miguel shared his deep knowledge of facts and tales about political and cultural history of Portugal with passion and humor. It is evident that he continues to grow his expansive knowledge as new details, facts, and stories were shared throughout the day. Not surprisingly, the little cafe he recommended for us to have lunch was lovely, full of character, charm, and tasty food. As we ended our day in Cascais, Miguel recommended a local restaurant for us to try the Piri Piri Chicken - and it was another hit! We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will relive the tales and laughs shared every timevwe look at our MANY photos we took. Could not recommend this tour, and most definitely our guide enough. We look forward to returning to Sintra again to experience some of the other palaces, and will 100% request Miguel if he's available.

An utterly awesome day trip to Sintra + My first time visiting Sintra, our group of 3 was picked up in Cascais by Miguel, our tour guide, a native of the Lisbon metro area. Miguel made our day so memorable! He's an encyclopedia of knowledge about the area's history, how it fits into the political and religious history of Portugal, and presents so much information in a fun and interesting way. We visited Pena Palace and the Regaleria in Sintra, the Cabo de Roca, and drove through the national park beach area on the west coast of Portugal on our way back to our rental in Cascais. He also stopped at the Boca do Inferno on the return trip and gave us a lot of context on the history of Cascais as a draw for important (read: rich!) families in the country as we drove home through the town. Miguel speaks perfect English and knew the staff at each of the palaces we visited, as well as back story, symbolism, and juicy history on each location. He was also super patient when I needed to stop a few times while walking uphill to some of the attractions, which I really appreciated - we have been walking 12,000+ steps a day and it caught up with me today. Even his restaurant suggestion in Sintra was a hit. Just a fantastic day all around. Absolutely worth booking with IGO - and ask for Miguel if he is available!

Unforgettable day in Sintra 1000% recommend touring Sintra with Miguel. He was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. His expertise, efficiency, historical knowledge, and sense of humor made it an unforgettable day. We did a private tour with my husband and I. Exceptional experience - highly recommend We have been fortunate to do many tours all around the world and have seen many great sights and have many good guides, but this was truly an exceptional experience. From initial enquiries, the booking process, the communication and the tour itself it is obvious this is a top notch company. Our guide was Pedro M. and he was superb. A wealth of knowledge, considerate, flexible, punctual and a great sense of humour. Sintra and Beyond Sintra is a stunning place to visit, especially the Pena Palace. And it really came alive with the history lesson we received from our very knowledgeable guide, Pedro M. beginning with the full story of Portugal going back thousands of years BC and covering the era of the Pena Palace as well as the monuments In Lisbon. The town of Sintra has a charm of its own, and the drive to the cape and Cascais was extremely scenic. All and all a very full day of sightseeing.

Sintra with two young kids & grandparents We went on an all day tour to Sintra from Lisbon with our tour guide Katherine. We were travelling in a group of 6: two adults, two grandparents 65+ and two kids (aged 4 and 2). We thought a private tour would be the best way to see Sintra with this kind of group and as it turned out it would have been the only way we could have done it! The sites are far apart and require lots of walking up steep hills. We were able to choose the sites we wanted to see and chose Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. You have to book your own entrance tickets in advance. Our tour guide also recommended some extra sites on the day and we saw Cascais and the most western point of Europe (“end of the world”). Katherine also recommended a great seafood restaurant for lunch. Katherine was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, kind and, most importantly, patient as we were quite slow. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend this to others. The booking process was smooth and the communication was very efficient.

Amazing tour with an amazing guide. We had the most perfect day with Pedro our guide on this amazing tour - not just his enthusiasm, exceptional knowledge of every aspect of the tour and places visited. This was not just Portuguese history but European history and the European monarchies; combined with skilled driving but the ambience and the friendship on the tour. It really was like a close and caring friend sharing with us all the wonderful places we visited. It was memorable and fun. And we ended the tour discussing music of the romantic period and listening to Chopin nocturnes.
