When our mum passed away recently we wanted to work with a funeral director who was, down to earth, knowledgable experienced, organised and who understood our family. We are extremely happy with our choice to use Idyllic Funerals.
Having planned some business events myself, when we started working with Matt, It was clear that he knew his profession inside out and what’s more was passionate about it. Matt explained the end to end process in a respectful yet down-to-earth way. He provided realistic, sensible & fitting advice. Matt always did what he said he was going to do, when he said he said he would do it. He was also great at keeping us updated. If there was a choice to be made he provided just enough options that he thought would be right for our situation, making choices easy yet effective and within our budget.
The result was a really beautiful and fitting funeral service. Friends and family got to learn things they didn’t know about mum. Guests cried just a little, laughed & sang along to her favourite songs. It was a service that mum would have loved.
The end to end process went exactly as planned. I cannot recommend Idyllic Funerals highly enough.

He had the opportunity to meet my friend before he passed away which meant he was able to tailor the service to his wishes. I recently had the experience of arranging a funeral through idyllic, and I cannot express how grateful I am for the exceptional support provided by Matt and his assistant Ollie. During such a challenging time, they made the entire process as seamless and pain-free as possible, allowing me to focus on my grieving.
From the moment I contacted reception enquiring for the service, not only did they give information to help but also wanted to help with any questions I had unrelated to the service they provided, setting a comforting tone for the experience ahead.
Matt was incredibly welcoming, taking the time to listen to my needs and concerns. He guided me through the various services available, answering all of my questions with patience and understanding. His knowledge of the details needed for the mass was impressive, and he made sure nothing was overlooked, which was such a relief during a time when I felt overwhelmed.
Ollie was also a tremendous help, always on hand to assist with any aspects of the arrangements. Their teamwork truly shone, making everything feel organized and thoughtful.
What stood out the most was how attentive they were to my emotional well-being. They checked in on me throughout the process, genuinely caring about my comfort and ensuring I was okay. It’s rare to find such compassionate professionals who truly understand what families go through during loss.
