Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters gave us the greatest experience ever. The guides (Trice and Corby) floated and fished us through the most beautiful wilderness I have ever been, smoothly and effortlessly. Amazing fishing and river knowledge, culinary excellence, great gear, outstanding guides. The food and camp set up they put out is crazy impressive for where you are. The guides quickly make you feel like family which made the trip way more personable, the guides work seamlessly together and obliviously love to be together to give us the ultimate experience. The crew were prepared for any and all issues that may arise, and were extremely professional in all aspects of there jobs. Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters, they hands down have given us the most spectacular river trip, exceeding my expectation. I am looking forward to my return with my wife. Personal thanks to the Crew = Trice, Corby, Will, Kevin, Marie, Brandon, and PAUL or token river dog......

After waiting a decade for the opportunity to experience the iconic six-day float down the Middle Fork, our trip with Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters completely exceeded our expectations. From the stunning landscapes to the exceptional service, every aspect of the journey was unforgettable. The guides were an absolute highlight—knowledgeable, professional, and always eager to share their expertise about the wilderness. They truly made the trip come to life, pointing out unique spots, wildlife, and teaching us about the history of the river. We also loved how accommodating they were with our nine-year-old son. They ensured that he had a blast, whether he was helping with the gear or simply soaking in the surroundings. It’s not every day you find a team that can cater to all ages so well! The food was another standout. We were blown away by the quality and variety of meals, especially considering we were in the backcountry. From hearty breakfasts to gourmet dinners, every meal was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. It was clear that the team took great pride in making our experience as enjoyable as possible—food included. The fishing in late August was also incredible. It was our first time catching West Slope cutthroat and they were plentiful. There was never a bad day of fishing. They guides back rowed in fishy areas and helped with fly selection. The scenery along the Middle Fork is beyond words. The combination of crystal-clear waters, towering cliffs, and dense forests made for a constantly changing and breathtaking backdrop. It was the kind of beauty that just takes your breath away at every turn. All in all, the trip was worth every bit of the ten-year wait—and then some. We’re already itching to go back and are so grateful to Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters for making it a trip we’ll never forget. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a bucket-list adventure!

Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters is an amazing organization. We had a great trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon. The guides are top notch!! The amount of work they do is above & beyond and the meals they provide are delicious. We will definitely be back for another trip with MFWO. We had 8 people in our group and everyone is ready for another trip.

I came to Idaho as a first time camper, nervous and unsure of myself. I left with many new friends and can't wait to return with my entire family! The guides are all amazing. First and foremost, they share their love of the river and the need to respect and appreciate it. The food was amazing. Hot breakfasts were a great way to start each day. It's amazing what can be created in Dutch ovens. Favorites were sausage gravy with biscuits and blueberry pancakes, but every day was unique. After a couple of hours on the river, we stopped for lunch. Lunch each day included an original salad, sandwich spread, chips, fruit, veggies, and hummus. Another couple of hours on the river followed lunch before arriving at camp. Each day included an on shore excursion- hot springs, cliff jumps, trail hike, educational talks, etc. When we arrived at camp each afternoon, the crew already had our tents with cots set up. We grabbed our duffel bags and bedding (provided by MFWO) and settled in. While waiting for dinner, we got to know the other campers. We talked, played games and had cocktails. So much fun! I was blown away by the dinners. Menus were so thoughtful and delicious. The bacon and jalapeño wrapped shrimp appetizer started the trip with a bang. The lasagna was to die for as well. The final meal, a delicious steak and baked potato, was a great way to wrap up the trip. In addition to the time and effort for each meal, the guides provided alternatives for the dietary needs of those who needed it. Whether you want to fly fish, kayak, or just enjoy the sights and sounds of the river, MFWO makes every day a blast!

This was by far the best vacation I have ever taken my family on! 6 days in the wilderness disconnected from everything, but connected to other amazing guests and guides. The guides at MFWO are top notch, and work their butts off to make sure you have the best trip possible, I would highly recommend them!

Just got back from an amazing trip with MFWO and can't say enough great things about the experience. The level of detail that the guides put into ensuring every single person, young and old, had an amazing experience was very impressive. Days started with coffee and breakfast as you broke down camp. All gear moved ahead on the river so it was already setup when you got down river. Stops along the way during the day for hot springs, waterfalls and pictographs gave time to relax and reflect on what an incredible place you're floating through. Lunch along the river often coincided with a stop for a great swimming hole. After lunch we drifted through calm stretches and lively whitewater until we got to camp where a happy hour table with drinks and snack was set up. What a great way to relax after some rapids and a bunch of fly fishing. Several of the guides were fishermen themselves so helped several of us catch a ton of cutthroats. Dinners were next level. Grilled Salmon, BBQ tri-tip, fried chicken, lasagna...not sure how they pulled it off but the food was fantastic. Lots of sides which were great and they took special care of the one vegetarian on the trip. Desserts were usually cooked in a dutch oven -- pineapple upside down cake, apple crumble -- all yummy! I'm pretty sure I put on weight on this trip! It was all fantastic, but the guides were what made the experience so memorable. They had a true passion for being on the river, knew all about the river and history of the area, and went out of the way to interact and make sure we enjoyed our trip. As much fun as I had, I think the kids on the trip had the time of their lives. What a great time Big THANK YOU to MFWO!

This trip was truly incredible for my family. I have an 11, 10, and 8 year old and the guides made the experience unforgettable for everyone. We will carry on the memories forever of cliff jumping, hot springs, hiking, rapids, camp games, slip n slide, sleeping under the stars and eating so much delicious food! This trip is ideal for those desiring to reconnect with what is important, (oneself, nature, community) and disconnect from the distractions (email, constant interruptions from cell phone notification). This is one of the few trips in which I could really choose my own adventure: whether it be connecting with the river on the ducky, enjoying the mountains and conversations on the oar boat, or working together with a group on the paddleboat, each experience was unique and delightful. The camp was cozy, the company was superb, the food was delicious, but most importantly the river guides are top notch, well trained, and set the precedent for an adventure of a lifetime.

I have done countless river trips, and I can confidently say that MFWO is the by far the best guided service I've floated with. The guides are super experienced rafters, super knowledgeable, and every need was effortlessly taken care while at the same time bolstering a fun atmosphere. I was especially impressed with their ability to adapt to our day-to-day needs, be it getting splashy on the paddleboat or taking it easy and recharging. And the service at camp is unreal. Falling asleep under the stars and waking up to someone serving you coffee in bed is truly magical. The Middle Fork is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and I can't think of a better way to experience it. I'll be going back next year.
