I’ve been working with this company since November 2025. They are very nice on the phone. They’re very helpful on the phone, But they don’t tell you everything. I had to pay more money for a site specific plan and then the plan that I got was nothing more than what they sent me in the first place so I sent it back. They had fixed a couple of things not everything sent it to me which I had to wait a month for sent it to me still not correct I am still waiting on the correct plans. Also just so you know you cannot put a ceiling in and you cannot connect to their metal building. Just a warning. I would not recommend this company and I’ve paid half of the money to them already and now I’m trying to get my money back and I can’t even get my money back so now it’s lawyer time.

Hi Janine,

Since November 2025, we’ve made multiple revisions to your engineered drawings—over four updates in total of which we have paid for those changes without charging anything—based on the feedback and changes requested throughout the process. Our goal has always been to ensure the plans meet both your expectations and the required engineering standards.

Regarding the comment about not being able to install a ceiling or connect drywall directly to the metal building, we respectfully disagree. These elements are absolutely possible when they are properly designed and engineered to suit the specific structure. This is not a limitation of the building itself, but rather something that must be accounted for correctly in the engineering phase, which is exactly what we’ve been working to achieve with your revisions.

We understand that the timeline has been frustrating at times, and we sincerely apologize for any delays you’ve experienced. However, these delays have been caused by the multiple changes to the engineering plans that you have requested. Engineering adjustments—especially site-specific ones—can require careful review to ensure accuracy, compliance, and safety, which can sometimes extend turnaround times. Furthermore, we will not rush the site-specific plans, as the safety of the building is of the utmost importance to ensure it is structurally sound.

Please know that we are committed to working through this with you and reaching a final set of plans that you are satisfied with. We value your business and the opportunity to continue collaborating, and we remain available to discuss any outstanding concerns directly.

We look forward to continuing to work with you toward a successful outcome.

Needed a large equipment shed for the farm and Icon Steel delivered. The building is heavy-duty and the insulation (R-7) keeps it much cooler than I expected. Great local company to work with

I shopped around quite a bit and Icon Steel had the best balance of price and quality. The 20' eave height on my building looks massive and the structure is rock solid. Definitely the best value in the area.

From the time we signed the purchase order to the day the crew finished the install, everything was professional. The installers knew exactly what they were doing and left the site clean. 5 stars!

Choose another company My first interaction with Icon Steel Building was with Jose in March 2025. I requested a quote for an 18x25 building with a 12’ overhang on each side. Angle contacted me a few hours later to discuss some additional details. While discussing the details I inquired about an additional building for residential purposes. Angel stated that they were fully capable of providing residential barndo style buildings as well. Angel and his team designed the original building and the residential building. We came to an agreement on the design and pricing and entered into a contract. This contract was finalized in April 2025. I ran into some issues with permitting and setbacks on my property. These issues was resolved and finalized in November 2025. I stayed in close contact With Angel during this entire process. I made sure Angela was aware that as soon as these issue was resolved, we would be pouring our foundation for both buildings. The foundation for both buildings was complete January 9, 2026. I provided pictures of both foundations that was asked of me. Angel advised me that the concrete needed to cure for 28 days. I can’t still building set the install date for the week of February 9, 2026. On February 2, I reached out to Angel to get full confirmation that the installed date was still set For the week of February 9, 2026. Angel assured me and confirmed that the building was loaded and ready for pick up and would be there the week of February 9, 2026 for installation. On February 9, 2026 I attempted numerous times to get in contact with Angel to try to get an exact date of when the building and the Installation crew would be on site. I was unable to contact Angel after numerous phone calls. I finally received a text message from Angel stating he would call me back later. I never received a phone call that day. I then reached out to the office and spoke to Martin. Martin advised that Angel was out of the office due to a family emergency. Martin then advised me that the crews were running behind and would not be there to install both buildings until the week of February 23rd. This conversation was quickly followed up with an email from Ashley Street. I made several more attempts to try to expedite the installation of these buildings. The week of February 23 came and I spoke to Martin again. Martin confirmed that everything was still a go for the installations and would be there in between the dates of February 26 to February 28. I was later contacted my Angel again and Angel told me that the crew would 100% be there to install the buildings on the morning of February 28 between 9 AM and 11 AM. I settle on property the morning of February 28 waiting the arrival of the crew and the buildings. At 10:30 that morning I received an email from Ashley Street stating that the crew did not make it back from out of state and would not be there to install the buildings. I was able to contact Angel via text message and one phone call. Angel assured me that he was on top of this and if he had to he would put together a crew that they only use as backup situations. I told him via text that the day was still young and had plenty of daylight to please have these crews on site to install these buildings. He assured me he was working on this. On Monday, March 2, I received an email from Angel stating that the crew and buildings would be on site for installation on March 6. On Thursday March 5th a two man crew showed up on property with a building at approximately 11:30 that morning. I was contacted by Angel and he stated that the crew could not get started because they did not have a manual lift, and would be back on Friday, March 6 to install the building. On Friday, March 6, the two-man crew showed back up at approximately 12 o’clock in the afternoon to start the installation of one building. The crew worked until about 5 o’clock that afternoon. On Saturday, March 7, the crew showed back up at 11:30 AM to begin finishing the installation. I asked Angel why the crew showed up so late and he advised they had to get some supplies i.e. new ladder from Home Depot. I showed up on site at 3 o’clock that afternoon. The two man crew was working and after looking around on site, there were no new ladders. Neither member of the crew spoke English. I was able to translate with whom I’m assuming was the lead crew member through Google Translate. I asked him why they did not have more people on the crew to help install the buildings. He told me that the other crew members did not want to work on Saturday because they wanted to drink beer. I reached out to Angel with my concerns as to why there was only two crew members. I also told Angel that his lead crew member told me the other crew members did not show up because they wanted to drink beer. Angel tried to tell me that the crew member was joking about that. I later left the property for a few hours and showed back up at 5 o’clock. The lead crew member that I originally spoke to seem to be very frustrated and was yelling upon my arrival. He started packing tools up and told me he would not be back until Monday to finish the installation. I told him that that was unacceptable and that Angel told me that that building would be finished today. He then stated he would be back Monday. Once he finished packing his tools, the two-man crew left. I was contacted by my neighbor and she told me that just before I arrived that the two crew members was fighting on my property. She advised that they were yelling extremely loud and punching at each other. She stated she was not aware of what exactly happened but did see the altercation. I immediately contacted Angel to advise him of the situation. I explained to him via text that he needed to have a supervisor on site over his crews. I also advised him that he needed a competent crew that could finish these buildings. I also advised him that evidently during the altercation some of the metal was damaged. As of now the material for one of the buildings is scattered on my property and installation has not been completed.

I hope people see this review cause I been dealing with this company almost a year and I still haven't got my building from them. They never email back hard to get a hold of. Now im going to have to fight them to get my money back.

We want to address this review in detail because transparency is very important to us. We completely understand your frustration regarding the timeline of this project; almost a year is a long time, and we want to be clear about why we are still at this stage.

As we have communicated in our previous discussions, the delays have not been due to a lack of effort on our end, but have been strictly related to reaching an agreement on the pricing for the site-specific plans required for your build. These plans are essential for a safe and compliant structure. To help bridge this gap and get the project moving for you, we went as far as offering to cover half the cost of these plans out of our own pocket. We believe this demonstrated our strong commitment to getting your building delivered.

Regarding your comment about 'fighting' to get your money back: please know that there is absolutely no need for a fight. We have no problem working with you on a refund if that is your final decision. However, reading this review is the first time we are hearing that you want to cancel. You have never mentioned a desire for a refund in our past communications.

We are ready to resolve this immediately—whether that means proceeding with the plans or issuing the refund you are now asking for. Please contact our office directly so we can handle this for you professionally, rather than assuming we will not cooperate.

I had an issue with a building purchased through Icon that was improperly installed. I first spoke with Jose asking for the engineer drawings and was told that was no issue. I received a call back very quickly from Angel where we discussed all of the issues with the building. I provided an entire Google Drive folder complete with photos and videos. At first he directly stated this was going to be taken care of. A check would be cut for the doors that were incorrect and the other issues would be addressed ASAP. Angel stated he would even fly in and make sure the job was been done. He gave me a specific time of call back the next day. No call happened the next day. I was able to get ahold of him after the weekend and leaving a message. He assured me everything was going to be taken care of and told me the company now had 24 hours to respond. Icon had also stopped all business with the construction company until the issue was resolved. Angel was pushing for issues to be fixed next week when he would also fly in. I was to get a call before 2pm the next day and he would notify me if he could not make that time. Again no response or communication the following day. Since that time I have only received an email response confirming Angel would send over the engineer drawings. It has now been an additional two weeks with zero communication. I had hopes that this would be resolved, but have only received lies with no follow up. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because they at least picked up the phone a few times even if it did just waste my time.

Hey Rusty

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We truly appreciate it, and we want you to know that we hear you and understand your frustration. We have been and continue to be pushing the Construction company to do the right thing and resolve the issues with your building. At the end of the day, we are on your side as the customer, and our goal has always been for this situation to be properly handled by them.

I also want to sincerely apologize for the lack of communication on our end. That is not the experience we ever want you to have. Angel is fully aware of the situation, and we are prepared to support you in any way you need moving forward. Because of this issue, we have already made the decision to no longer do business with that Construction company.

Regarding the drawings they were re-sent to you via email. If for any reason you did not receive them, we are more than happy to resend them immediately. Please reach out to us as soon as possible so we can ensure you have everything you need.

We genuinely appreciate your patience, and we regret that this situation reached this point. Our commitment remains the same: supporting you and helping push for the resolution you deserve.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
