This review is in response to the review left by Mr. Chris Roberts a few months ago. We have waited to respond until we saw the project through and now both buildings have been completed and approved by Mr Chris. Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the delays and frustrations you experienced during the installation process. While the project did not begin or progress as smoothly as either of us would have liked, we remained committed to seeing it through and making things right. Both buildings have since been fully completed, and we hope that the quality of the finished structures, along with our follow-through in addressing and correcting the issues with the smaller building, demonstrated our commitment to your satisfaction. We worked hard to resolve the concerns that arose and ensure that the final result met your expectations. We understand your disappointment with portions of the installation process, and we appreciate your patience as we worked to complete the project. Our goal was always to make things right, and we hope the finished product and our efforts to stand behind our work reflect that commitment.

From the first phone call, the customer service was outstanding. They didn't just try to sell me a box they asked about my intended use and helped me navigate the technical requirements. They even made sure I understood why the snow load ratings they recommended were necessary for my area. It’s rare to find a company that takes the time to educate the customer rather than just taking their check.

Thank you, Axel, for your thoughtful words! We're delighted you appreciated our personalized approach and the emphasis we place on guiding customers clearly through important decisions. Your satisfaction motivates us to maintain this standard for everyone.

I was on a tight deadline to get my equipment under cover. Icon Steel Buildings delivered the faster than any other company quoted me.

We had a minor hiccup during the delivery where one of the trim packages was dinged during transit. I was worried it would stall the whole installation. However, Icon Steel’s team handled it immediately. They fabricated a replacement piece at their facility and had it shipped out the next day so the install crew could finish on time. Seeing how a company handles a problem tells you more about them than when things go perfectly. They really came through for us.

Thank you, Joaquin, for sharing your experience. We're glad we could promptly resolve the issue and ensure your project stayed on schedule. Handling challenges effectively is very important to us.

The building itself is fantastic. There was a small delay with the shipping carrier, but the Icon team stayed on top of it and kept me updated every day.

DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY After searching the internet for months I settled on Icon steel mainly for their communication and guarantees of “not being like other steel building businesses”. Well I can promise you they are the same if not worse! Due to issues with my entire build I ended working directly with the “owner” ANGEL (not even sure that’s true). After months of issues having a crew out here to finish my build he asked if I would pay the remaining balance with a guarantee that his crew would come out and replace all 12 of my windows that the first crew managed to break (yes, every single window!). I trusted him and his word and boy did I learn my lesson. It is now 4 months later and what started as yes I promise we’ll be out in a few weeks has now turned into not replying to my texts or phone calls on his personal phone. So I then contacted Icon via there business number and spoke to MARTIN who after I explained Angel had ghosted me said he would fix things and call me back in 3-4 hours. Well again, that didn’t happen and now no one is answering the phone when I call. ANGEL had me re order 12 windows so they would reinstall them, now they sit here waiting to be installed along with the trim around them that the worthless installers butchered. DO NOT fall for the talk and just go elsewhere. I trusted Icon with a 2800 ft 4 bay garage which cost me alot of money and here is sits empty because I can’t finish it since the windows all need to be adjusted and replaced. I never thought I’d write this about them since I trusted him, but do yourself a favor and go with a much more credible company. Not sure if they have deleted the bad reviews but ANGEL is named in nearly all of them by doing the same thing. Now it’s onto small claims court for a law suit to get back this money since I have everything I’ve stated in text messages from him. Luckily I will recuperate all that money wasted in court as well.

I’ve been working with this company since November 2025. They are very nice on the phone. They’re very helpful on the phone, But they don’t tell you everything. I had to pay more money for a site specific plan and then the plan that I got was nothing more than what they sent me in the first place so I sent it back. They had fixed a couple of things not everything sent it to me which I had to wait a month for sent it to me still not correct I am still waiting on the correct plans. Also just so you know you cannot put a ceiling in and you cannot connect to their metal building. Just a warning. I would not recommend this company and I’ve paid half of the money to them already and now I’m trying to get my money back and I can’t even get my money back so now it’s lawyer time.
Reply from Icon Steel Buildings 2026.03.17
Hi Janine,

Since November 2025, we’ve made multiple revisions to your engineered drawings—over four updates in total of which we have paid for those changes without charging anything—based on the feedback and changes requested throughout the process. Our goal has always been to ensure the plans meet both your expectations and the required engineering standards.

Regarding the comment about not being able to install a ceiling or connect drywall directly to the metal building, we respectfully disagree. These elements are absolutely possible when they are properly designed and engineered to suit the specific structure. This is not a limitation of the building itself, but rather something that must be accounted for correctly in the engineering phase, which is exactly what we’ve been working to achieve with your revisions.

We understand that the timeline has been frustrating at times, and we sincerely apologize for any delays you’ve experienced. However, these delays have been caused by the multiple changes to the engineering plans that you have requested. Engineering adjustments—especially site-specific ones—can require careful review to ensure accuracy, compliance, and safety, which can sometimes extend turnaround times. Furthermore, we will not rush the site-specific plans, as the safety of the building is of the utmost importance to ensure it is structurally sound.

Please know that we are committed to working through this with you and reaching a final set of plans that you are satisfied with. We value your business and the opportunity to continue collaborating, and we remain available to discuss any outstanding concerns directly.

We look forward to continuing to work with you toward a successful outcome.

Choose another company My first interaction with Icon Steel Building was with Jose in March 2025. I requested a quote for an 18x25 building with a 12’ overhang on each side. Angle contacted me a few hours later to discuss some additional details. While discussing the details I inquired about an additional building for residential purposes. Angel stated that they were fully capable of providing residential barndo style buildings as well. Angel and his team designed the original building and the residential building. We came to an agreement on the design and pricing and entered into a contract. This contract was finalized in April 2025. I ran into some issues with permitting and setbacks on my property. These issues was resolved and finalized in November 2025. I stayed in close contact With Angel during this entire process. I made sure Angela was aware that as soon as these issue was resolved, we would be pouring our foundation for both buildings. The foundation for both buildings was complete January 9, 2026. I provided pictures of both foundations that was asked of me. Angel advised me that the concrete needed to cure for 28 days. I can’t still building set the install date for the week of February 9, 2026. On February 2, I reached out to Angel to get full confirmation that the installed date was still set For the week of February 9, 2026. Angel assured me and confirmed that the building was loaded and ready for pick up and would be there the week of February 9, 2026 for installation. On February 9, 2026 I attempted numerous times to get in contact with Angel to try to get an exact date of when the building and the Installation crew would be on site. I was unable to contact Angel after numerous phone calls. I finally received a text message from Angel stating he would call me back later. I never received a phone call that day. I then reached out to the office and spoke to Martin. Martin advised that Angel was out of the office due to a family emergency. Martin then advised me that the crews were running behind and would not be there to install both buildings until the week of February 23rd. This conversation was quickly followed up with an email from Ashley Street. I made several more attempts to try to expedite the installation of these buildings. The week of February 23 came and I spoke to Martin again. Martin confirmed that everything was still a go for the installations and would be there in between the dates of February 26 to February 28. I was later contacted my Angel again and Angel told me that the crew would 100% be there to install the buildings on the morning of February 28 between 9 AM and 11 AM. I settle on property the morning of February 28 waiting the arrival of the crew and the buildings. At 10:30 that morning I received an email from Ashley Street stating that the crew did not make it back from out of state and would not be there to install the buildings. I was able to contact Angel via text message and one phone call. Angel assured me that he was on top of this and if he had to he would put together a crew that they only use as backup situations. I told him via text that the day was still young and had plenty of daylight to please have these crews on site to install these buildings. He assured me he was working on this. On Monday, March 2, I received an email from Angel stating that the crew and buildings would be on site for installation on March 6. On Thursday March 5th a two man crew showed up on property with a building at approximately 11:30 that morning. I was contacted by Angel and he stated that the crew could not get started because they did not have a manual lift, and would be back on Friday, March 6 to install the building. On Friday, March 6, the two-man crew showed back up at approximately 12 o’clock in the afternoon to start the installation of one building. The crew worked until about 5 o’clock that afternoon. On Saturday, March 7, the crew showed back up at 11:30 AM to begin finishing the installation. I asked Angel why the crew showed up so late and he advised they had to get some supplies i.e. new ladder from Home Depot. I showed up on site at 3 o’clock that afternoon. The two man crew was working and after looking around on site, there were no new ladders. Neither member of the crew spoke English. I was able to translate with whom I’m assuming was the lead crew member through Google Translate. I asked him why they did not have more people on the crew to help install the buildings. He told me that the other crew members did not want to work on Saturday because they wanted to drink beer. I reached out to Angel with my concerns as to why there was only two crew members. I also told Angel that his lead crew member told me the other crew members did not show up because they wanted to drink beer. Angel tried to tell me that the crew member was joking about that. I later left the property for a few hours and showed back up at 5 o’clock. The lead crew member that I originally spoke to seem to be very frustrated and was yelling upon my arrival. He started packing tools up and told me he would not be back until Monday to finish the installation. I told him that that was unacceptable and that Angel told me that that building would be finished today. He then stated he would be back Monday. Once he finished packing his tools, the two-man crew left. I was contacted by my neighbor and she told me that just before I arrived that the two crew members was fighting on my property. She advised that they were yelling extremely loud and punching at each other. She stated she was not aware of what exactly happened but did see the altercation. I immediately contacted Angel to advise him of the situation. I explained to him via text that he needed to have a supervisor on site over his crews. I also advised him that he needed a competent crew that could finish these buildings. I also advised him that evidently during the altercation some of the metal was damaged. As of now the material for one of the buildings is scattered on my property and installation has not been completed.

I hope people see this review cause I been dealing with this company almost a year and I still haven't got my building from them. They never email back hard to get a hold of. Now im going to have to fight them to get my money back.
Reply from Icon Steel Buildings 2026.01.22
We want to address this review in detail because transparency is very important to us. We completely understand your frustration regarding the timeline of this project; almost a year is a long time, and we want to be clear about why we are still at this stage.

As we have communicated in our previous discussions, the delays have not been due to a lack of effort on our end, but have been strictly related to reaching an agreement on the pricing for the site-specific plans required for your build. These plans are essential for a safe and compliant structure. To help bridge this gap and get the project moving for you, we went as far as offering to cover half the cost of these plans out of our own pocket. We believe this demonstrated our strong commitment to getting your building delivered.

Regarding your comment about 'fighting' to get your money back: please know that there is absolutely no need for a fight. We have no problem working with you on a refund if that is your final decision. However, reading this review is the first time we are hearing that you want to cancel. You have never mentioned a desire for a refund in our past communications.

We are ready to resolve this immediately—whether that means proceeding with the plans or issuing the refund you are now asking for. Please contact our office directly so we can handle this for you professionally, rather than assuming we will not cooperate.
